THE OLD GREY MOUSE is a tribute and cover band, bringing together several musicians from different places that never met each other before. The band is formed by Marco Fabbri (Italy), Luis Eduardo Rocha (Paraná, Brazil), Gustavo Bessa (Minas Gerais, Brazil), Gus Dübbern (Los Angeles, USA), Felipe Borges (Minas Gerais, Brazil) and The Old Grey Mouse (Sao Paulo, Brazil). The song was mixed during January 2022, by Gus Dübbern. Executive Producer: The Old Grey Mouse.

I'm a fan of 50 years, or to make myself sound even older and more seasoned, HALF A CENTURY! In 1972, my sister (7 years senior to me) had seen TAAB live and had a really cool poster of IA over her bed (I can't find one like it - even in collectors' circles). She had a brand new, baby blue VW Beetle with an 8-track tape player screwed to the passenger-side dash. I was 12 years old, and cherished the times I could ride in her little "bug" with Tull blasting thru the speakers, both of us singing along loudly, trying to hold the note in "Do you belieeeEEeeeeeeeeve, in the day", and always being disappointed (but laughing) when the tape had to pause for 2, 3, even 4 seconds sometimes to change tracks! (I was thankfully of the age that cassettes had arrived by the time I got a car, so I dropped $49 and bolted a cassette player under my dash within days of getting my first car).
Very happy to see some serious efforts being given to honor a musical hero of our time who was always breaking the mould with his unique sounds and creative styles. You did JT/IA proud here. I really enjoyed seeing all the arrangements come together in different panels on the screen as they entered the song. Well done and heartfelt thanks from a longstanding Tull fan!
Let's support these guys! When IA finally retires, we'll be able to go to a live concert by "Old Grey Mouse". It'll be like reliving our youths! Sadly IA can't sing on key anymore, and should've hired a ringer to sing for JT long ago, as did Queen after Freddie Mercury passed away.
@@marielevine7757 IA will never retire. I suspect someday we'll get a grim and devastating report he keeled over during a concert or something else speedy/unexpected. The man is 100% driven and loves creating and producing. What a life he's had and is still having! The man is peerless in the entertainment industry and deserves massive recognition - at the least, a monument in his honor (surely on one foot - lol), in a prominent place - or better yet, multiple places.

Brilliant cover. It's a splendid job, especially as you did it through the internet... I've loved Tull for 40 years now, and this is maybe my top favourite song on the splendid Songs From The Wood.
Marc, we really appreciate your comment. I am also a very old Tull fan. The first song I heard by them was The Whistler and the second was Velvet Green. Since 1978 I planned to be able to rebuild the entire song. As this amazing group of musicians are JT fans also, when I proposed the idea back in 2020, I knew they would try hard. Been watching a signer/guitarist named Stewart Wood (YT channel is his name) as he approaches 130 Jethro Tull songs masterfully performed on 6 and 12 string guitars. Saw he subscribes to this one, so had to check it out. Wow guys, ambitious undertaking. Nicely done - thanks for sharing!

Stewart Wood is really great, I agree, but he's gently turned every Tull song into an acoustic classic. We need Old Grey Mouse to carry the baton when IA finally retires. What a concert that will be! I'll be first in line to hear all of Tull's greatest hits done masterfully, and sung in key, without cringing at the sad loss of IA's vocal range.

For sure it is! And in my opinion it is not so velvet as the highlands in Scotland or even the fields in Yorkshire!
