I really want to get a prowler. I hate bikes, running, and rowing. Sounds dumb but 20 years ago I was a cart guy for Sam's Club. Used to push like 12-15 shopping carts stacked up non-stop for hours. I lost about 100 pounds real quick doing that and was super fit. Not real strong but you couldn't wear me out. Probably was a similar concept I just didn't know it.

I recommend it. By far the most efficient method I've used for conditioning. If you're going to push it outside, external factors make it very difficult to accurately scale the load so you'll have to learn to go by feel

Maybe we don't need to buy any prowlers at all. On the way home from the gym just stop by the local supermarket and bring in 10 big stacks of carts. :)

@@23Schrodinger I know it sounds like a lot of fun. The most fun you'll ever have. But trust me, it is and you should do that. Make sure they're the big ass metal ones. Not those tiny metal carts. Or the dinky plastic ones. Go for it.

      Me too!
I worked at Zellers in Canada and yeah...doing the prowler reminded me of that

Thank you for the help regarding the chest up/chest down aspect of the prowler push.

I watched Rip's video focusing on how to push heels down, body not bent over. Then I watch the trainers in the gym teaching to bend over and push off the balls of the foot.

Very well done, great instructional video, 5 minutes and 51 seconds of pure information. I'm dying to know why you closed your gym!

Started pushing 90 pounds, 90 feet on 90 seconds for 10 sets.
Went up to 100 pounds, 90 feet on 90 seconds for 15 sets.
I stopped because it was hurting strength and doing this twice per week was hard.

I do landmine belt squats now but I heard prowler are good to build legs?? Iam not an athlete anymore, iam a 50 year old fit male. I do full body lifting workouts 3x a week m,w and f...and on Tuesday I rest or do LISS workout and on THURSDAY I do 30 min HITT/functional trainning workouts with kettlebells, sandbags, sledg hammers, etc....

Prowler runs are runs? . They work both sets of handles surely? Low push on the way back? Hips and hams?

    • @TheStncld357
      @TheStncld357 3 года назад +1

It's hard to run with prowler and land on your heels. A fast walk while landing on heels to avoid Achilles injury- so say's Rip.

If 100 air squats ruin your barbell training you're seriously out of condition

Post a video of you doing 100 air sqiats in one set, then start your normal working sets on squat after.

That's a lot of volume for someone who trains strength alone.

Even some high rep range squats 20+ range are going to be a competing stimulous that wrecks strength adaptations, let alone mondo cardio bs.
