    Always had a feeling you'd end up pulling a tanker. I left LTL for KAG Merchant Gas then eventually a private fleet that I pulled for at KAG. Never looked back. Currently $140k a year w/ 401k & pension at the end of my third year driving a truck.

      @@cryptonator1988We're not hiring anywhere in Georgia, but the major industrial gas companies typically pay about the same across the board.

      Linde
      Air Products
      Airgas/Air Liquide
      Messer
      Matheson
      When checking out listings, be sure to check that it's for bulk tanker and not gas cylinders/bottles. Most require 2-3 years experience, but I think Airgas will accept someone with just one year.

    Hey man, congrats on the new job with KAG. I started working for Pilot Flying J, local fuel hauling, back in May this year and this is my 1st time pulling a tanker.
    I wanted to know some more info about KAG. Can you vape in the truck?
    Do you go to terminals to pick up different types of gases, like I do with gas and diesel?
    I would assume they pay by the mile. Do they offer any other pay incentives , like raises, safety bonuses and hourly wait time pay?
    Looking forward to the next video!

    • @FreightHauler87
      @FreightHauler87  10 месяцев назад +3

      I’ll answer a few of these questions, and I’ll make a video.
      They have a no vaping/smoking policy. With that being said, who’s really going to know, unless you’re doing it in front of the customer or in front of other company people?
      We may go to other terminals from time to time, but we mainly pickup loaded trailers from a chemical plant, and transport the product to a customer. We may unload it, the customer may unload it for us, or it could be a drop/hook. If we drop the loaded trailer, we will pick up an empty trailer and bring it back to the terminal.
      They pay by the mile, but that will vary depending on your location. I don’t remember how much (I think it’s $200), but they pay monthly bonuses, especially if you don’t run over in your clock. We may be getting a raise soon, that’s what I keep hearing. Hourly wait time is $20/hr (if I remember correctly), but you must give the customer 2 hours - because it usually takes 2 hours or less to unload the trailer. If you’re given a load by dispatch, and the load cancels, you’re paid $200 and will get another dispatch.

    • @FreightHauler87
      @FreightHauler87  9 месяцев назад +2

      @@infamousy2g1 I’m not sure about the fuel hauling. The chemical side of KAG is good. It all depends on how much you want to work. Some guys stay on the road for weeks at a time, and some guys run 2,000 miles a week. It’s up to you to make what you want to make (almost). If you don’t mind sleeping in the truck a few nights a week, you can make $100k+. If you want to take it easy and run 7am to 4pm, you can still make $85k+.

      Orientation is one week. After that, you’ll be with a trainer 2 or 3 weeks, depending on location. I was with the trainer for 2 weeks, but I’ve had others say their OJT was 3 weeks.
      Overall, 3-4 weeks of training. Orientation paid $950. OJT pays so much per day, but I was with my trainer 12 days and made $2,280 (two-weeks/12 days).

      If they require a new physical, you’ll do it before orientation. I don’t remember if they’ll let you keep the one you got or not. Mine was about to expire, so I got a new one.

    I was just hired to do specialty in irving texas. Are you in texas? I was wondering if you are still liking the position. And are u able to give what your average paychecks or weekly income is there now. And i was told i will be doing acid additives for cement. How do u like kag and the specialty side

    • @FreightHauler87
      @FreightHauler87  10 месяцев назад

      I still like it! I run out of Arkansas. Average paychecks have been around $3800 Gross (bi-weekly), but I know more can be made. We have runs that are 2150 miles (round trip), and we have runs that are less than that… more can be made, but I’ve been netting around $1500/week ($3000/bi-weekly). Not bad overall. I’m waiting to see how 2024 ends on the financial side of things, and that will give us all a better idea of what the money is like. Just starting out, I’d say I’m doing pretty good. If you can run 2,750 miles per week, you’ll be fine.

They are going to get me a rental and etc. i was wondering ia that where u went to do safety/orientation and if so where did they have ur hotel at? I guess here they pay .83 a mile plus the drop pay and etc, but i dont think itll be 2000 plus miles. Itll be more like 1700 plus the other incentives but the drivers i spoke to did say u can make a killing if u want to work.

      @@longterminvestmentsonly4817 I went to Beaumont, TX, too! The hotel is 1/2 mile up the road from that terminal. Think it was holiday inn, but can’t remember now. It was a nice hotel. Breakfast was provided, and it was good. Lunch was provided at the terminal, it was good. Dinner will be on you. They’ll reimburse you for all the fuel you had to put in that rental car, plus it’s $190/day for orientation.

      @@FreightHauler87 Good to hear brother. What works for some doesn't always work out for others is what I tell people, and one terminal can have better operations than the one you have, people make a difference in this job and why be miserable some place just to say you worked there for X amount of years so it looks good on your resume. I don't have time for BS or Stupid people.
