- Hi and welcome to RC Modders. For existing viewers - great to see you again - and for those new to the channel, I hope that you see something here worth sticking around for.
It’s been a while since I posted anything substantial - the pandemic, and life in general just got in the way. Anyway I hope that I’m back for a bit now!
Over the last year or so I’ve not been idle. I’ve really got to grips with 3D design and printing and developed a whole series of conversions to share with you on the channel. Mainly Bruder RC conversions, an upscaled 1/16 railway to go with it - as well as a couple of Hobby Engine hobby-grade conversions. Again in 1/16 scale.
My intention - over time - is to publish all these designs as well as parts listings and circuit diagrams etc. And make videos to allow you to copy, modify or get ideas from what I have done.
As I hope you can see. There is a lot for me to do to share all of this properly with you all. A big project. Please bear with me. I’m sure that it will be with the wait!
Until the next time - I hope you enjoyed this canter through the last year or so - thank you very much for taking the time to watch this.
Wowwwwww😳! That's amazing engineering, wow! 😃 . Awsome video👍
Thank you!🙏🏻 glad you enjoyed it! 😀👍
Amazing conversions and 3D printing. Your work is next level. Thank you for sharing. 👏
Thank you 🙏🏻
Boy, you have been busy, looking forward to further videos.
Yes - looking back, I have been a bit busy 😂. Looking forward to sharing more stuff! 😀👍
Workaholic, that's gigantic! crazy! you are a genius!!
Thank you😂. I didn’t realise how much I did until I put this video together from clips on my phone that recorded along the way! 😁👍
A man who builds my dreams ✨
😂 great to hear that! Glad you enjoyed the video!
What amazing work ✊very nice job 👍🏻
Very glad to hear that you enjoyed it!😎👍
Wow, its really nice to see something from you. i owe alot of inspiration from you, cheers!
Great to hear that. Keep up the modding!😀👍
Once again...
Absolutely AWESOME!!
I can't wait till you release your builds. Your engineering skills are quite on another level.
I've been away from rc for a bit but seeing you and a few others is making my fingers itch to build.
THANK YOU for sharing with us. And welcome back my friend🙂👍👍👍👍👍
Can't wait for the new build videos, especially the D11. Good to see you back 👍🏻
Thank you! I waited until I learned enough before attempting the D11 - which was actually pretty easy to do. I experimented quite a bit before I hit upon drive motors that were powerful enough to drive the tracks under all conditions. The 8 3D printed rams - with travel limits on each - are pretty powerful and provide a good range of movement and not expensive to make (if you have a 3D printer). 🙂👍
My goodness - you've been so productive! You've put me to shame.
This video showcases a spectacular degree of resourceful and inventive conversion, and I'm very keen to watch a detailed video on each project.
Glad you're back!
Thanks Del. And lovely it hear from you again. I’m really happy with what I’ve done. And for me it’s about the interaction between the models - rather than any single conversion project. And the only way I could find to express this was to make a video touching on all of them very briefly -before launching into detailed videos about any of them. Doing so many has really allowed me to refine the techniques. Towards the end of the process I was almost doing one conversion per week! 😁👍
Fantastic video! I know first hand how Covid has effected our abilities to gather & film events! I ALMOST ran out of content to post myself, due to events being cancelled because as a result of it. I look forward to seeing more detailed videos of the amazing modifications you've made to your RC collection during the down time!
Thanks. To be honest I wanted to get better at the designs and produce a ‘complete system’ before I distracted myself with making videos - which requires a whole different skill set. 😀👍
Well done my friend and have fun and have a good week
Many thanks 🙏. And you too! 😃👍
Brilliant. Wish I was able to do this. But, my hands are deformed as a result of a road traffic accident in 1988 doh! Keep up the excellent work.
Very sorry to hear that. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Fantastic 🤩🙌🏻
Cheers 🍻. Glad you enjoyed it! 👍
For a while been wondering what you were up to?. I did think "he can't have hung up his Dremel and Soldering Iron". Then this amazing update, blown away. Whilst watching this all I could think about was when Sue Pollard's cleaner character finally gets made up to a "yellow coat" in Hi-De-Hi and becomes unstoppable with her new role and tries to do everything. LOL. Great to have you back, can't wait to see your projects and have a go.
No defo not stopped doing the conversions. I really just wanted to concentrate on getting better at it. Then I discovered the LGB railway stuff and wanted to develop my own -1/16 scale - version of it. I have now covered a good proportion of the Bruder range - with fully capable, but inexpensive conversions. I’m just trying to decide which detailed series to do first! 😀👍
Really nice to see you back on your channel. I'm absolutely amazed at what you have done, very nice work. I have used your video etc to convert a couple of Bruders myself.
Thank you! Giving people ideas is a lot of the point of this channel. Really glad you found it useful in this way! 🙂👍
Awesome, looks fantastic!
Many thanks, 😀👍
Fantastic work, I would like to the animatronics in the little man at the end, I'd like to convert some 1/16 soldiers for my tanks
Very good sir 👌👍🏻
Thank you 🙏🏻
Welcome back 🙏
Thank you,😄👍
Thank you rc modders for showing us what kept you busy these days! Man were do I start? Those trains, the Bruder conversions? Still excited to see how you improve the skid loader. I did modded it as well but not sure mine its dirt capable looking forward to see the upcoming videos! Cheers!
It took a lot of experimentation with diff wheel and motor gearing ratio options to get the weight / traction / speed optimised. Moving to an open tx transmitter FRSky Tara is Q7S plus IRX4 multi protocol unit) allowed me to program in bucket/ lift mix curves to achieve a perfectly level bucket across the full lift range and retain full tip at the top of the travel. A single dual ESC provided better wheel control. And a more powerful, analogue servo stopped the digital servo ‘chatter’ (or buzz) and provided greater range of movement and power on the bucket. It’s a great fun model to use. 😃👍
