I’m usually a big fan of these redesigns but this one doesn’t speak to me. I feel like you could have brought some of the more classic elements to it but also modernized it. Perhaps elongating it to match the 60’s would’ve helped. In my eyes, the finished product here looks like a Honda prelude mixed with a Chevy Camaro.
I agree 100%! The Cadillac El Dorado had a type of elegance that spoke to the captains of industries. In my humble opinion, the Cadillac El Dorado then had a unique classic coupe position much like the Rose Royce Wraith today; and, your redesign didn't capture that essence.
Not only that but the finish product here does not have any relationship to Cadillacs modern design language. Would’ve been nice to have him completely redesign it from scratch and not use a older model year and add on to it
I feel like this is how all of his "redesigns" look. He never changes the shape or overall body of the car, he just copies and pastes new headlights and rims on it and calls it a day
I enjoyed how you explained the way the designers added muscle to the rear without the usual arch/shoulder over the rear wheels. Very true and looks good
The 90's Eldorado was unique. I think I was the only kid at the time that liked it, LOL. I liked a lot of cars though, as a kid who spent most of my drawing time redrawing existing cars or creating my own unique designs.
This is actually the 1992 design even with the 2002 model year. They felt almost futuristic at the time because they were so different from the rest of Cadillac (rear mostly) and like nothing else on the road. Please do a take on the XJ! You can reach back to previous gens versus the last one or merge the two and bring them to 2022. Either way, the car needs its justice. Such a cool car!
Would have been cool to see integration of similar taillights to a 1970 eldorado, they have a cool negative space about them as they cut into the body panel
The 1952 Kaiser Manhattan and later the Darrin had that swoop in the rear door before GM copied it. Kaiser also had the largest tail lights on their 54 models then they faded away.
Nice work I’d like to see how you would modernize the old NA Mazda Miata. The Miata is one of my most favorite cars of all time. Such a recognizable and lovable face and an all around fun car to drive
I love your designs! I have a 70 Thunderbird with suicide doors and would love to see that modernized. Since 76, I have been a huge fan of th 76 - 85, series 2, Aston Martin Lagonda sedan. I have drawn my Thunderbird and made changes and it comes out very close to looking like the Aston Martin Lagonda.
It’s been made to look like a crown Victoria coupe similar to the one you’ve created once before I do like the newer wheels on this Cadillac and the side mirror not sure about the the headlights and bumper
Looks like the Sketchmonkey has been watching a channel called Rare Classic Cars & Automotive History 👍 If I’m not mistaken, those same sketches were featured in the designer interviews on that channel. Those are worth watching, Wayne Kady and John Manoogian are living legends almost nobody knows. Both had amazing vision for Cadillac at the time. John also talked about the imfamous Cimarron project. Now that’s a redesign I’d like to see!
I would have LOVED to see a comparison between the pre-facelift 1992 Eldorado and the 2000 Eldorado. They're the same, yet the 2000 model year looks so much modern and sportier
Basically like the thought on the car do not touch the greenhouse effect change the grill to a 65 Buick Riviera Grill without the vertical slits just the horizontal the wheels look good low profile looks good the only part I do not like on the Eldorado is right past the sea pillar and the body mating it it's a little chunky maybe in the black paint other than that the car is a solid build
I am a fan of old massive American cars and I think they look great and unique. about the redesign just a small thing that I was uncomfortable with, was side mirrors. I think they are a bit too much modern and complicated, although they work great on original car, the ATSV, but for this redesign which is more simplistic, I don't think they fit very well.
my maternal grandfather who passed in March 2016 aged 78 had a Cadillac Eldorado Seville Coupe in the late 1960s early 1970s I wish Cadillac would bring the Eldorado Fleetwood Deville Seville and XLR/Allante back my first personal experience with a Cadillac was with a used 1981 Coupe Deville my late maternal grandmother drove when I was very young also have been in Fleetwood Limos for weddings/HS Sr. Prom and a rented CTS the first time I accompanied my dad and younger brother to Washington DC for Awesome Games Done Quick streaming Convention in Jan 2016 oh and dad currently drives a used 2011 SRX midsized SUV after moms/his 2005 Hyundai Sonata was totaled in a state inspection emissions test in Nov 2019
I have an idea for a new video : as the Ferrari Purosangue has been finally annonced, and as almost every brands have their versions of SUVs/crossovers. Maybe you could design your vision of a McLaren SUV ou other brands. SUVs are not really interesting in term of driving imo but they can be really interesting in term of design.
The 2000 Eldorado was a FWD, evident by the position of the front wheels. A redesign should’ve pushed the wheels forward and increase the length of the hood to give it some presence. Furthermore, the front end design was poor. Inspiration should have been taken from the eighties design and modernize that. It would have looked allot better IMO.
PLEASE! DO A VIDEO ON THE PAGANI UTOPIA! IT NEEDS TO BE FIXED I love pagani it's my all time favourite car manufacturer and zonda being my dream car. But the new utopia is a step backwards in terms of evolution on the zonda and huayra. I'm not saying its ugly. It's beauty is in it's details and finish and said to be timeless design but compared to zonda and huayra I think I expected more. It screams 90s supercar in particular the silhouette reminds me of the Isdera commendatore and Nissan r390. Btw sorry to hijack this video but the timing of the pagani launch matched up and love all your videos
That was a nice Cadillac when it was released. But l never liked that super wide C-pillar. Now, Cadillac has gone from horizontal lights, to vertical lights.
Love ur work bro, greetings form Europe :) I would love to c ur idea of one Italian car cuz that car is either u love it or hate it, its Fiat Coupe 2.0 vt Limited Edition :)
I love that your cat makes a random appearance in nearly every one of your videos
Eghkiiikiiiiiiu me up to try
I’m usually a big fan of these redesigns but this one doesn’t speak to me. I feel like you could have brought some of the more classic elements to it but also modernized it. Perhaps elongating it to match the 60’s would’ve helped.

sketch money is doo doo bro
Not only that but the finish product here does not have any relationship to Cadillacs modern design language. Would’ve been nice to have him completely redesign it from scratch and not use a older model year and add on to it
I feel like this is how all of his "redesigns" look. He never changes the shape or overall body of the car, he just copies and pastes new headlights and rims on it and calls it a day
He should’ve never lowered the greenhouse he even said it in the video himself and those headlines were a terrible choice wheels did not help either
I enjoyed how you explained the way the designers added muscle to the rear without the usual arch/shoulder over the rear wheels. Very true and looks good
The detailed car history and comparisons are always a favorite part of your videos for me 👍
You never touch the green house design. That's why your redesigns are restomods, not actual redesigns.

I think i would have given it taller fins in the back. But it does look updated and better.
It would be really cool to see a 1980 Malibu Classic redone.
I like the concept Cadillac called the Elmira that came out a few years ago, that would be a beautiful Eldorado.
i didn't know you started sketching on paper too, i thought it was chip foose until i saw ur signature
one of the best modernizations yet
Would have been cool to see integration of similar taillights to a 1970 eldorado, they have a cool negative space about them as they cut into the body panel
wow the front end reminds me a lot the evo VI, so cool to see it in the streets
Loved the hand sketching you added into this video!! Hope to see more of that in future vids.
You have the right idea but in the Foxbody video the headlights and a couple changes would make it 10x better
Could you do a redesign on a Buick Regal?
I had one of those eldos. It was one of my favorite cars.
I would love to see a 930 slantnose redesign
GREAT redesign. One of the best yet!
That final model didn't come out in 2000. It came out in 1992. It was extremely futuristic.
I have a 2002 Eldorado its pretty cool. but why don't you do a modern Camaro Berlinetta
I’m surprised you didn’t mention the stunning 67-68 Eldorado
The 1952 Kaiser Manhattan and later the Darrin had that swoop in the rear door before GM copied it. Kaiser also had the largest tail lights on their 54 models then they faded away.
I would live for them to do just the Eldorado V and it only be available in awd and manual.
Looks great! Could you do a Honda s800 redesign?
looks great! you mind doing a redesign on the 92-02 lexus sc300?
Nice work
I’d like to see how you would modernize the old NA Mazda Miata. The Miata is one of my most favorite cars of all time. Such a recognizable and lovable face and an all around fun car to drive
Hi SketchMonkey. I love your videos and designs. I have a question/ suggestion. Have you done a Pontiac Fiero?
Are the headlights wrap round 🤔
I love your designs! I have a 70 Thunderbird with suicide doors and would love to see that modernized. Since 76, I have been a huge fan of th 76 - 85, series 2, Aston Martin Lagonda sedan. I sought you out to redesign the Eldorado ETC and you had already done it! Awesome!
Love the content, and would like to see a modernisation of a Maserati Merak
Can you modernized the Fleetwood?
Ah, the legendary Caddy Etcetera. I always thought they should bring this back (no I didn’t). Seriously though nice redesign
Look awesome !!!😁👍
It’s been made to look like a crown Victoria coupe similar to the one you’ve created once before
I do like the newer wheels on this Cadillac and the side mirror not sure about the the headlights and bumper
This is a very classy design. Thank you.
Thats cool, I'd buy one 👍😊

Cadillac has returned to Vertical lighting on the front and rear. I like this but it doesn’t look like a modern Caddy. It’s really nice though.
Can you modernize the Chevy Bel-Air?
+++
I need the redesign of this car!
6:44 he called the tail lights on a 50 year old car LEDs. lol
Hm should have put the current caddy front and lights on it. Id also put a more raked windshield.
what are your opinions on the ferrari suv? sorry this is more of a bembli type topic
I would have LOVED to see a comparison between the pre-facelift 1992 Eldorado and the 2000 Eldorado. They're the same, yet the 2000 model year looks so much modern and sportier
The redesign looks very clean from the back and very busy on the front. Good effort though. Thanks
...the cat: "don't forget to design big deep coushin in the back of our new Catalack...."
what about modernizing 1995 FIAT barchetta?
2nd Gen Camaro modernization.
I got a 93 eldorado, I love it tho I wish I had more money to get it looking pristine
Please modernize the 90’s Ford Thunderbird SC.
Christopher Walken doing car design
I hear it :-)
Put some fins on it. We need to bring back a Caddy with some fins and go nostalgic in a modern design.
Eagle vision tsi would be sweet modern too good video!
Would you create a modern version of the 1970s De Tomaso Pantera please?
Always wanted a 2001 El Dorado! The car is so classic looking too bad it has that bad engine
That’s why you try to find a 92, or 93 those have the more reliable 4.9
This car is perfect.
like your videos But this redesign didn't do it for me The older version looked better to me Thanks keep it up
I have a 92 eldorado and this how I need my grill to look
This is why I’m subscribed

Great you made a 02 Monte Carlo
C126 Mercedes AMG...NO B PILLAR IS BEST B PILLAR!!!
I miss when 2 door cars were commonplace, now it’s like every make has like 1 or 2 at best
my maternal grandfather who passed in March 2016 aged 78 had a Cadillac Eldorado Seville Coupe in the late 1960s early 1970s I wish Cadillac would bring the Eldorado Fleetwood Deville Seville and XLR/Allante back my first personal experience with a Cadillac was with a used 1981 Coupe Deville my late maternal grandmother drove when I was very young also have been in Fleetwood Limos for weddings/HS Sr.

Can you do one on a 2008 audi a5
Could you modernize a 1998 Lincoln mark viii lsc collector's edition
Redesign a HHr ss I think that would be cool
I think the proportions of the front are off

how bout including iteration on proportions and silhouette into redesign process and not just photoshoping design details into existing structure
one generation is missing!!
Old aurora?
Give about a min for us to screen shot the finish designs who knows we might want to build it
So the funny thing is, I still remember that exact thumbnail picture from the first Raimi Spiderman movie 🎥😄
You should do the 1999 oldsmobile alero
Plz do Pontiac Solstice next.
Use a current sedan and create a coupe
Didn't expected an Eldorado V 😳
The ‘79 had fins if you look closely.
Monty Carlo SS redesign?? Maybe did one already , I gotta look 👍✌️👌😁😎
I always thought the ELR would have made a fantastic Eldorado without the hybrid power train
The last generation lasted from 1992 - 2002
That was a nice Cadillac when it was released. But l never liked that super wide C-pillar. Now, Cadillac has gone from horizontal lights, to vertical lights.
Dude nice
Got a z rated 1996. Money green white leather interior let me guess cheap plastic lights and "modern" emissions get em 😂
Rare misfire here, but I don't think there was much you could do with the existing body lines.
What would retro design look 👀 like jus for fun ??? Fins chrome ?? 👍👌✌️😁😎
2023 cadillac eldorado look like 2025
Can you redesign Saab 900 Turbo aero if Koenigsegg was made it?
