- Since it's Christmas and we're always trying to upload something for you, the 1UP CREW from Berlin finally releases their 23minute length short film about their book project ONE WEEK WITH 1UP with NYC based photographer Martha Cooper & Ninja K.:
"We had a wild time back then, Graffiti and photography, a tried and true symbiosis. Join us for a behind the scenes look at Berlin graffiti writing in the 21st century. One Crew - One Love - One Power!"

From the golden era of graffiti to the new generation of graffiti, Martha stayed loyal to the culture and is still pursuing on capturing graffiti. I really hope young photographers will be influenced by her so that graffiti and photography can work together and keep the culture going!

I grew up on Style Wars back in the 80s, so good to see her still loving it and doing what she does and I have been a huge fan of 1UP for years. Every time I travel to European cities I'm always on the look out for their work.

Bullshit. Kunst und einfach nur große Schmiererei sind zwei paar Schuhe, das hier ist keine Kunst. Ich will Farbenspiele, interessante Muster, Kreativität und nicht ein ausgeblichenes, immerwährend gleiches simples Logo, das verzerrt, schmierig und einfach nur groß groß groß mit einem Feuerlöscher innerhalb von wenigen Sekunden halbherzig gegen eine Häuserwand geschmiert wird.

If you are a writer from the old days or new you should know who Martha Cooper is period she inspired the world to photograph early graffiti and publish it ...I started in 1982 and to see her on missions with 1up at her age is beyond gangster .thank you so much for doing this together this goes in my book of legendary actions

Esp the whole train car pieces(or 3 entire cars at the end omfg), and the dude rappelling down the side of that building lmao. I've been to Berlin once, and seeing the graff was probably the most memorable part of my visit.1up, Martha and Ninja are total badasses!

I had my very short graffiti phase in early "high school" years here in berlin and they where everywhere..really the only crew that still stayed in my mind even after 15 years..big love

@@kianr2200 Yeah man always time, my body wouldn't like the slams anymore though I feel, it's easy to eat shit when you're young you just get up and eat shit again lol. One of my best mates now was 14 when I first met him, I was 18 and he was just one of the young skate rats, I always told him if he keeps skating he will be better than me by the time he is my age, and that's what he did, even though he didn't believe me at the time. Years later neither of us skate much but we're really good mates, age gaps are a big thing when you're young but I always found with skating it wasn't a thing, it was like if you skate you must be alright. I miss being a proper skate rat, cruising round with a crew, bombing busy streets, parting the seas of people feeling like you're on top of the world, wearing ripped clothes and shoes and not giving a fuck about it. I remember I skated for about a month with some Emerica's that had the sole completely ripped out from flips where my big toe was, I ended every session with a grazed and bloody big toe but I loved it man, having a little remenisce now lol

And I get that about slamming for sure. When ur older u gotta take less risks. Just remember the skate community always there for u if u ever want back in

Yeah you know all about it! Why I always used to keep duct tape in my bag lol. So much more to it thank skating as well like sitting with your boys on the field watching the sunset after a long session (or sunrise if you write lol), all the funny times and memories that are created, it was easy times. Love bro, really appreciate your message. Maybe when summer comes round I'll get the board out, can't believe I'm one of those guys now 😂
