    David, we would watch a video of you watching grass grow. lol. You were one of the three channels that made me want to start a youtube channel, Mike Barton was another one! You guys have really inspired 100's if not 1000's of people to get out in the woods and have fun. So, thank you!
    Grill cheese is one of my favorites! Sometimes I'll add a slice of tomato.....and yes, lots and lots of Butter!!! haha Take care

I really love to see your videos, all the shelters you build, and all the other good stuff. I really enjoy watching. Keep on ond thank you so much... With regards from Hamburg, Germany, Burk.

    I'll have to try making your heart attack sandwich one day. My kids bought me a 5" Lodge pan, and because it's square it is perfect for making a grilled cheese sandwich over my Folding Firebox Nano stove. I usually make my grilled cheese with ham, but I'm going to throw an egg in there next time.
    I love all your videos and this one wasn't boring at all. Not long ago, Ullrica did her video on why she started doing her channel and she mentioned that you were a big influence and help to her getting started. Sara hasn't done a video for awhile now, but I still pop over there because you can see what videos she had liked. I'm looking forward to your next video and to my heart attack.😋

    • @Reallybigmonkey1
      @Reallybigmonkey1  9 лет назад +2

      Helen Nelson Cool, give it a go. I sometimes add bacon or sausage if I have it but its always got egg and cheese. If you take care of that little Lodge pan, it will last a lifetime. I remember when Ulrica wanted to start making videos. I pushed her and kept after her to start. Im glad I did, she makes such cool videos. Get to a cooking and enjoy that heart attack, LOL. Thanks for watching my friend

    Howdy young man glad to see you warmin' up that cast iron. I cook with it for years and years and years and I made a big mistake by throwing a cast iron griddle on the wood stove and it cracked right in half. It was over 80 years old! I swear by cast iron on our mountain camping out or in the old kitchen. I know its heavy to pack around but if you got a mule they can pack it up the trail. Our mules name is Buckshot. LOL Take care and thank you for sharin' your videos.

And to this day you're still knocking out great videos packed with even more tip/hacks and information. It's all been a true inspiration to me and much of what you've shown is used by me to this day. Your videos are never too long my friend. My time is just a little to short sometimes.. unfortunately.. Haha!! :-) Always love listening to you and learning from you. I still remember watching some of your first videos. The one you did with the "sleeping arrangements" on the side of the hill always comes to mind when I'm on a side a hill looking for a place to park it.. I'll never forget that on!
    Thanks for the mention David, I've always felt so lucky and special to have known you and shared in your journey. Your so awesome, yet so kind, thoughtful, and humble. We were all new to making videos back then. Using new technology to share back to nature experiences. I think we learned a lot from each other. You know, I think about Tom all the time too. I certainly miss him, and hope he's still around, and doing Ok..
    Yummy looking sandwich! I think I gained a pound just watching you make it.. Haha!! Your so young and fit looking, I'm sure that sandwich won't bother you a bit! Weather must be kind of unseasonably cool there. I would expect you to be sweating to death over that fire this time of year in Georgia.. Oh well, good for you I suppose.. :-)

      James Ritchie JFC an egg and cheese sandwich with butter doesnt kill.

      Still here

    • @jamesritchie6899
      @jamesritchie6899 9 лет назад +3

      orbits2 I wish you'd tell my doctor that. He starts screaming if I even say the word "egg". My wife, good woman that she is, monitors me like a hawk. But I still eat something good and buttery every week or so. If you can't eat good food, what's the point of living?
      The sandwich I made would have been better over a campfire, but it was still great. I think I could have eaten five of them.
      Love this channel to death, though. Smart man who does things like real people. Can't beat that.

    Ya talk about the sandwich almost fell apart... You need to have a piece of cheese on each side of the egg so the whole thing stays together when you're flippin it. The cheese is the glue that makes it whole. Plus, you can't really call it a heart attack sandwich with only one piece of cheese. C'mon now. Ya can't be a Kentucky boy and not know that.

    Dave, it me again...anyway, I was watching the first season of Survivorman on DVD believe it or not. I thought of my buddy the big monkey, pulled up the vids and realized I'd never watched this one! The irony hit me so hard I nearly swallowed my Cope Wintergreen...I wouldn't know jack diddly about survival if Les Stroud hadn't got me so hooked on this stuff. I STARTED my RUclips subscription for EXACTLY the same reasons you did, still haven't made vid one. If I ever did a RUclips vid, it would be camping/survival w/ cooking. The similarities are just uncanny, my RUclips big brother is firestarterlover, guy has gifted me with more fire related gear than I even knew existed. But you've given me so much too, most of all is your approach, sometimes people need to just relax and be real...have some fun in the woods. Take care my friend...Glad to know we have so much in common for sure.

    Great video! You have a great personality so even the " boring" stuff is fun. 😜 My boys LOVE breakfast sandwiches!! I had a cast iron skillet just like that. My youngest son set the hot skillet in a cold and wet sink and it snapped in half like a stick!!! He convinced himself that the kitchen was NOT his place. 😕 it's taken almost a year of me pushing him and encouraging him to get back in there and cook great things. Good thing, because he's now in college and the five guys he lives with say he's the BEST cook! 😉

    Oregon Mike is a great guy. I've really enjoyed getting out on some trips with him. He's a good guy to hang in the woods with because he doesn't take stuff too seriously. We're just out there to have some fun! And he always throws some kind of fun twist into things...

      Likewise! That's great. Really appreciate that. Mike and I were talking about you on our last trip. I didn't realize he knew you. I've really enjoyed your videos and was telling Mike that out of all the guys I've seen on RUclips, you seem like someone I'd really enjoy just having some fun in the woods with.
      You take care and maybe someday Mike and I will get down to your neck of the woods.

    Hey David, here I am, your Machinist Comrade is back. Great Video my friend. Boring or too long??? No Way! They always contain good fun stuff and lots of great tips. I was a camper for over 40 years but an injured back put me out of commission, now I love to sit back, relax and learn the new technology from the younger generation like yourself. Keep up the great work, and keep that wonderful personality and laugh coming.

    We're glad you did set up a channel we learned lots of stuff from your vids!
    you started off similar to me. I had bee and hornet problems and came across YT and a video on blowing up bees and hornets with fire cracker and met loads a people over time! I watch more YT than I do TV these days so much so I really can't remember last time I had the TV on!

      ***** Starting this channel has been the most fun I have ever had. Not to mention, how else can a person make friends all over the world? I think youtube videos have got TV beaten by miles. Not much on TV anymore thats believable. Take care man and Thanks for watching

    Great video again. Love the channel, you have some creative ideas. I'm glad to see a fellow machinist out in the woods like I love to be, here in northeast Ohio it seems we are a rarity lol. I was hoping Nick was gonna be back behind the camera, I like the way you two worked together. Keep up the good work and hope to see some more things you make in that shop of yours.

I, like fleatottom, am also glad that you started and put all that effort into your stuff. I've learnt a great deal from you over the last year that I have been watching you and have taken up bushcraft.
