Kungan: I`m gonna do what`s called a pro gamer move
*begins to consume his mother *

  • @johannlothe

I find it extremely interesting that Kungan's story reminds me of Ed Kemper (he bludgeoned his mother to death in her sleep and spent hours mutilating her body, severing her head, using it for oral sex), and I read about Ed Kemper because of my interest in psychology. How our emotional pain makes us feel like we're in need of an external fix, and we inflict pain on ourselves and each other as a result of that. How being neglected and alienated by the world around you really fucks you up and can make you do some horrible things, to yourself and the people around you, all in the search for a sense of purpose - and it's something that is experienced by everyone on different levels and it affects absolutely every single human being on the planet (maybe not buddhists or bushmen). Who you are is a result of social and cultural exposure, and depending on your perception of reality dictated by the world around you, you could be sun-bathing on a yacht or shoot up a school. Love is evolutionary, and it's something we all need and deserve, but many of us lack - and society is a result of that.
I absolutely loved this album when it first came out, and these videos gave it a whole new dimension! I absolutely love it. Tallah is the whole fucking package - but Justin, your vocals are out of this world and you're a true inspiration. Can't wait for more new material!

Hey Justin, Not to fanboy or anything, but I just wanted to say ‘Matriphagy’ is my favourite album of the year. I wouldn’t skip a single song on it. Each song is so perfectly crafted and put together. The concept for the whole album is so well thought out and well executed it really captures the atmosphere each song wants to as well. What would you say your fav track off it is? Maybe to do vocally and perform or maybe just because of the vibe it gives? Thanks man and I wish you and Tallah all the success in the world. You guys are the future! 🤘🤘

If you are not aware, check out Hungry Lights. He has 4 albums of concept music that are like chapters of a book, all telling the same story. He has not done videos like this explaining them but there is a Hungry Lights wiki where he breaks down the literal story of each song.

I really love how this explains the cliffhanger for "no one should read this" with Kingan actually telling this story to the police. I think everyone can relate to Kungan in that they feel society projecting their image of them onto them, and we have to deal with their judgement and possible reactions to who we are. And this violent reaction we got from Kungan to his mother is like...what would happen if we started to creep into the whole disdain for society as a whole, and self-loathing. Like, this is how we would react before we dipped our society into a post-civilization of our society into violent outbreak and it is because of these pressures from our society projected onto the individual. Like, we lose all concern for human life and humanity as a whole, and just go ape shit, killing all that is in our way.

I loved this song man. I remember listening to Cottonmouth on the EP where I was like "oh shit he's like gleeful that he killed her" and then I listened to this song and it transitions so prefect from super raged out and killing her to happily talking about it. Pretty sure it replaced Silo-We, The Sad for my favorite transition.

okay so i have some thoughts about murder seed - red light
so at the end of murder seed kungan says “it almost happened” and in red light, the rap verse says “hun you gotta go outside of this contraption.” so i’m thinking, at the end of murder seed, kungan bolts down the corridor away from the cops- cuz they blew open the vault- and escapes. this would make sense because borderline of pain sounds kinda like a chase scene in an action movie yk. idk probably very far off from what justin came up with but that’s what i’m thinking.
another theory i had is that “it almost happened” is him saying he almost got away with it, and so him in red light saying “all the girls around my block are soon to lose their heads.” this made me think that maybe he could be talking about a cell block? maybe? kinda? probably not. that could also be part of what i said earlier about kungan escaping.
anyways, can’t wait for the end to be revealed. very great album. i’ve listened to it every day since release and it still gives my the goosies. love you guys 🍻

I in no way know this with any amount of certainty, but here's my theory.
There are no cops. No one ever breaks in. Throughout the entire album we see Kungan descend into total madness. His mind is broken. We also know that he believes Labifu to be an actual real, living being. So Kungan is displaying signs of a split personality. After listening to Labifu and going through with killing, dismembering, and eating Tallah, I think his mind snaps even further. Especially once he realizes that he is unable to escape out the vault door due to the passcode.
That would already be way too much to deal with for anyone in Kungan's position (having enough of the abuse from his mother, her lack of appreciation on top of doing everything for her as long as he's had too, finally snapping to the point of brutally killing then eating Tallah, and then learning that she had the only code to escape). Add to ALL that a mind that has already been breaking to the point of creating a split personality, and I think whatever may have been left of his mind went the rest of the way off the deep end.
Again, I don't know any of this for certain and it's all just my opinion, but I think upon realizing that he is forever stuck in the house, with no way out, and having to come to terms with his actions, that he thinks the cops broke in and that he now has to explain what the hell happened in there. The cops are no more real than Labifu is. Kungan "telling the police what happened" is really him just going through his story and the events that took place as a kind of way for him to begin to deal with it all.
Also as just a kind of sidenote for why I think this to be the case. Had the police actually broken through the vault door Kungan would be more interested in leaving that place than sitting among the remains of his mother in order to tell his story. Not too mention that the police would immediately take him away and not get his confession at the crime scene.
Just my thoughts. What do you all think?

    • @sinare-9090
      @sinare-9090 3 года назад +2

Personally I think it's supposed to reflect/represent the mental decline Kungan has been experiencing throughout his life. Like a visual representation of his dissent into madness. It compliments the story of Kungan's life as it is told to us throughout Matriphagy.
It's also something that would absolutely be meta enough for Justin to do.

This album worked in so many ways and it was sooo worth the wait, everything about it, to the structures and the choruses to the way the bass sounded on Murder Seed. THE WHOLE THING SLAPS SO FUCKING HARD.
I only have one question, how do the cops find Kungan, was there some sort of alarm in Red Light? It sounds like it, I think it was because when he tried to open the vault, he doesn’t know the code “But I can’t even go outside because I don’t have the code” by doing that did it trigger some sort of alarm, a red light perhaps??
