I was on the island years ago with my Greek friends.The boat entry into the caldera and the sunsets were breathtaking.The volcanic tuff beach in Perissa was also an incredible experience.Now the locals complain that it is overcrowded with tourists.Thank you,Chris and Carol,for the wonderful holiday reminder!❤👍
Yeah i read that they are thinking of putting a limit on cruise ships, one of these days around 11 thousand people arrived on the cruise ship, Can't imagine how chaotic those small pathways must have been in the villages and Fira. I don't think cruises go very will with many old places in Europe, there simply isn't the walking space available

Great guide. Going there next June, staying at Fira. It being the hub of the bus-system was my reason for choosing that village. I was quite surprised to see that there's no shortage of things to fill a 7-day trip.

What's the beach club parties like and night life....I'm going to SANTORINI in a couple of weeks . Staying in PERISSA BEACH....12 nights. . ..need to know about beach clubs that give you ENERGY.....to party
Beach clubs with energy exists in Myconos and IOS ıslands,not in Santorini.Sorry,from an Athenian Greek.So better stay in Santorini for 3 nights and then go to the other two islands for party.Cheers from Athens,Greece.
Difficult to choose a specific country really. Europe is definitely Greece, Asia Philippines/Japan/Nepal, Africa probably Morocco so far, Americas would be Brazil/Peru/Mexico/British Virgin Islands
Where goes the water come from to bathe all these tourists? And where does the sewage go for all these tourists on such a small place? And energy and trash, etc!?
Not too sure, we have been to other islands that have equipment that filters the sea water to be used for bathing/tap water. I Imagine that the trash is ferried to the main land and dealt with. Sewage I have no idea if they treat it somehow or if they dump it into the sea
Found this comment on a site "Greek islands are supplied with water from numerous sources. Wells usually but if water is needed it can be ferried from the mainland. This is managed by the state owned or municipal water authority. In some areas there are desalinization plants. Water authorities as well as private companies manage sewage which is pumped from sealed sewage tanks into bowsers unless there is a network where it goes directly to the sewage plant."

The best view to caldera in Santorini, is in Merovigli area.400 meters above the sea level, you will love it.A suggestion from a Greek.
