    Doval is my favorite current pitcher on the roster. He's just so fun to watch. And lethal for opposing teams too 🖤

    When Doval was right this season he was unhittable but he had a hard time controlling his power which is why he ended up with a mid-2's ERA rather then a sub-2 ERA. I have to think he will encounter a new struggle in 2023 with the pitch clock being implemented and enforced. Doval was by far our slowest pitcher on our staff and for good reason as his games tend to get away from him when he can't settle down. being forced to pitch in 15 seconds or 18 with runners on will really hurt him.

      Well, you were right that he's struggled with the clock initially - that first outing against the Yankees was *painful.* But, it seems that he's figured out how to work faster without sacrificing what made him so good, and now he's having an even better season.

    Hope he comes with a third pitch. His 1-2 KO combo as is is a monster.

    I wonder what would happen if Doval became a starter after a few more seasons or games

    • @nickdimitre
      @nickdimitre Год назад +5

      He would probably need more pitches and he's never really been a starter so stamina would be a question. He'll likely be one of the best closers in the league for years to come though. I know starters are more flashy and pitch longer but he will be insanely valuable if he can close out games like this routinely.

    Come on Oracle Park…. Play a cool sound when they strike someone out! Y’all got to improve the experience there….
    Flash the lights too sometimes, like where there is a home run!

      the production needs a lot of work, nothing special happens at the ballpark.

      The Giants really need to bring some entertainment back to Oracle. It's like their stuck in the 60's back when people wore suits to baseball games. Oracle is still a rather fresh stadium, and they need to use it.
