Thank you so much, Nick! It was really helpful, I will start my program on September, about less than 10 days😬, and I'm nervous. Good luck on your practicum. Waiting to share your experiences more!

Hi Nick - thanks for this video! I am on the cusp of applying to the MACP program. I am curious if you could expand a bit about the nature of the group work. I am suprised there is so much group work since the program is online and mostly asynchronous. Are we talking about group presentations or other projects? Thanks for any info... my undergrad had virtually no group work so I don't know what to expect and would like to be prepared.

Hey, thanks for watching! Yes, so last I heard, Yorkville was trying to integrate more group work into the program in order to build on collaboration skills and teamwork. Although the program is asynchronous for the most part, they expect you to meet up with your group to work on the projects. So far I have had group powerpoints, brochures, and counselling sessions (like how you have to practice with your triad for tests). I would not sweat this aspect of the program - I have made some really close friends this way :)

      Hello Arshdeep!
I think for me personally, I made the right decision because of my current career goals and life circumstances. It's totally normal to feel nervous because you are about to embark on a new adventure (and financially it's a huge commitment). I think it is also important to self-reflect prior to and during the program. If you can see yourself wanting to be a therapist in the future and you like flexibility in terms of learning (for the most part), then this program is for you. If you prefer face-to-face interaction, then maybe Western University's counselling program may be a better fit. It is also good to remember that you could also use this masters as a stepping stone to other career goals. I know people who have done PhDs with it although it is rare because this program has no thesis. I wish you all the best on your future endeavors!

      @@nick_tag23 thank you nick
      I want to do this.
It’s just that i am not from psychology background. Can It still be doable?

@@arshdeepmondair800 Well nothing is impossible, but all my friends come from a healthcare background or psychology background. So its possible that it may be more difficult for you.
