  • ELEVATOR TROUBLESHOOTING, NO UP & DOWN OPERATION
    Nowadays, ships are getting bigger and bigger. In fact for the Containership alone the TEUs are reaching up to 24,000.
    Elevator is very important to the crew and pilot. Imagine if the vessel is having 14 decks to climb.
    So we have this onboard elevator and giving this trouble of not having UP and Down operation. I was able to trace the root cause from one of the door safety switches.
    Here is the the troubleshooting procedure I carried out in fixing this kind of trouble.

    I like the way you check the different problems you fix. You always explain what you are doing and show and tell from the wiring diagrams the steps needed to trace the problem down to find the fault. 👍😎👌

    I remembered troubleshooting one of the elevators of Mitsubishis and checked all limits switches too even though it was my first time . All you have is a good analysis on diagrams and you can be the hero 😂

    I like the way you calmly explain the troubleshooting process and check the problem fellow sparky, here in L.A is more like run run panic scream , and no diagrams. It’s hell trying to troubleshoot 100 year old buildings..

    Really enjoying your logical approach to the problems you solve. One comment though... WD40 is magical stuff for sure, but in my experience it is not a long term lubricant. It tends to 'evaporate' relatively quickly and so the problem may come back too soon. I think some mineral based light oil would better? Anyways, thanks again for sharing your profession with us 🙂

    • @leckyjake
      @leckyjake  Год назад +3

      hi, i just used the wd 40 to free up and remove the deposits. after that I used grease to lubricate it.

      @klarnorbert Год назад

      You can just replace it later on when you have free time. I also love WD40 :D

    Did the error clear on the PLC? I've worked with that type quite a bit and that light usually means there's something wrong with the logic solver itself rather than a typical alarm.
