Just got this game and played in VR and despite the shitty VR controls, I have to admit, this game got me a little teary eyed with just how magnificent our universe is
Also, that weird glowing bright yellow terrain, That looked like magma from the distance because... Well... It IS supposed to be magma. Space engine just doesen't have a good surface texture to it.
It doesn't look like so, because the stars in the background rise almost perpendicular to the horizon, which most likely means it's a location near the equator of the planet The parent star seems to rise briefly and then set because the planet is tidally locked (day = year), but it has a slightly elliptical orbit, which makes it orbit slower or faster, while the rotational speed stays the same.
I recommend u to use the exposure setting to change ligthing and that kind of stuff when u press "V" u change from three different lighting settings: HDR (the one u r using), auto, and manual (wich is the same as auto but it doesn't adjust automatically). Auto exposure looks pretty nice sometimes on some planets that are too bright, its also way more realistic. btw, when u look at a planet with rings from behind covering the sun (using auto exposure) it looks amazing
You are always right on time just amazing, this is really cool i didnt even know they had this except on Earth or at least i havent found that yet, awesome video, awesome channel, awsome guy!
The pressure on the "Venus" planet was 99.5 bars...That's about the pressure at the bottom of the ocean! (Earth's pressure at the surface is 1 bar in case you didn't know)
I don't know if all of the hot keys are the same, but in the version previous to 1.0 and the steam release, you could press SHIFT+G and it would take you to the surface. This also works to locate black holes. If you click a cluster or a galaxy and use the same key combination, it will take you to the most massive object which for most clusters is a black hole.
Nonpro version is just as good as the pro version. The planet generation is even better than the current pro version but it just doesn't have details such as actual rocks in planetary rings
Go to the edge of the universe and land on the most outer planet in the most outer star system of the most outer galaxy you can find and look up at half a sky of sparse stars fading into emptiness. Now that's anxiety inducing, lol.
PLS download and install the "Rodrigo's mod addon" All u have to do is download it and put it inside the addons folder. It makes terrestrial planets and clouds look sooo much better, but if it doesn't work after u put it in the addons folder just delete all the stuff inside the "cache" folder, its all inside the spaceengine folder in Steam\steamapps\common
@@Neptunian-Guy It basically makes clouds and terrain WAY more realistic and makes terrestrial planets look much better, the only reason its not a default thing is because it has a bit of impact on performance, but its almost unnoticeable, it also fixes some bugged lacustrine planets that should have water/liquid on their surface but doesn't Here is an example: i.redd.it/o0m5p453s9041.png
The filter settings? Well, as someone whos been playing the game for a while now, i would say you should if you wanna have an easier find. But looking at stars without the filter is more fun imo.
20:50 life on a gas giant??? how?? most life would get crushed by the immense density of the atmosphere - I don't think its possible for life to form mid-air either - so is that even realistic?
@@michalbochenski4329 Yes, but what i am saying is that the correct elements for life might not all be in the upper atmosphere. unless life formed before the planet was a gas giant, I don't see how the chemical elements would be able to form life as all known elements for life are denser then water. the only good explanation in my opinion is that the planet was once an earth-like planet, but that was when the star still had a protoplanetary disk and that the life evolved into something bird-like, but the planets orbit moved out but it was still warmed by it's internal heat. as the planet's orbit moved out, it collected more material. it eventually became a gas giant. thats the only reasonable explanation
@@jesse_the_meaney Life doesnt have to be carbon based. So there most likely are dozens of gas giants which have atmospheric life in it. Most people forget how many planets exist.
How do play Space Engine whitout deleting main-user.cfg Always i change my graphics to medium but i need to delete it because the game won't work after that. Please help me!
Should I use the search feature to find planets faster or is it cheating?
Do it, we want to see more cool planets with life
Up to you im not sure.
Probably not because the universe is 93 billion light years wide and are like more than 100 billion billion planets
It is not cheating. You should use it.
Heath Pitt So?

Can you just sit back and let the game roam for you? Or do you have to use the controls to roam?

I own the Beta and the magma looks better.
27:20 It's because you're at the pole, the star wouldn't rise too high and sometimes not at all
It doesn't look like so, because the stars in the background rise almost perpendicular to the horizon, which most likely means it's a location near the equator of the planet

2:50 moon with life!!!!
"look at that purple sky!"

when have we ever been less excited about aliens? like this game makes alien life so normal
That's the point alien life is everywhere
That's the cool stuff about it
You can go to travel logs to go to places you previously explored, I thought planets I left were gonna be left out to die before I discovered it.
Neptunian Guy your the best keep it up and you’ll be in the likes of PewDiePie
Ye um... Hate to be the guy but, wrong your.
Silder you hate him
Sheesh I didn’t think anyone would reply 2 weeks after

THE NEW RETROGRADE STUDIO I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR
Universe sandbox needs these graphics
Does the non-Pro version of space engine includes traveling in galaxies? or we just have to buy the pro version for this access
Nonpro version is just as good as the pro version. The planet generation is even better than the current pro version but it just doesn't have details such as actual rocks in planetary rings

MAKE ALOT OF THESE PLEASE
I hope they add animal life to Space Engine
They already have, and intelligent life too, but it's not written inside the game.
are the class names part of the newest update or is it a setting?
I think it's a setting because I saw a video from years ago that had that
