Nonna Pia is the symbol of what family is and what it should be! Nonnas are the head of any family, and they are the glue that holds everything together. Everytime i watch nonna pia, it reminds me of my nonna who passed away when I was young. It reminds me to cherish the little things like this, and what I would do to hug my Bella piccola Nonna! I lactose intolerant and have been cut off from all dairy products. I have reflux disease which was inherited from my Great Grandma. Myomcoukdn to cook but my dad did after he got home from work. My mom s mom wouldn t let my mom in the kitchen ehoilr me she cooked for their 11 siblings. Her mom ,my granny had 9 boys and 2' girls she produced with my grandpa . My mother s sister was 23 years older,so mom had to rong it with her dad dying in his bed and hetom died from a heart attack ehena bat was caught in her hair while she was mending jeans in the attic where her sewing room was at 63 years old. Grandpa I never knew.nor my grandma .. I feel lost without my parents who passed away with congestive heart failure and Diabetes. iI lovd watching you Italian real home style cooks. Keep showing the recipesevenif I can t eat Italian food. No spaghetti for me....I love it but it gives me heart burn. Is it worth the pain and suffering ? No. I can still smell it and that is my satisfaction from your cooking classes. I ll keep watching you.

My great grandmother is the only grandma I have alive I’m 24 years old . She’s in her 80s as well she was an amazing cook . Cooked the best Puerto Rican food she has arthritis and is becoming blind & doesn’t cook anymore . I loved her cooking .
My lela died 3 years ago my dads mother , she always cooked the best Puerto Rican food I miss her so much . I remember helping in the kitchen I can’t remake her dishes no matter how much I try except one dish actually cornmeal I made it once it tasted just like hers. I love you & miss you lela .

I adore these videos of your grandmother. When I was a little girl and not occupied by friends or playing, I would ask my grandma if I could sit in the kitchen and watch her. It became a common thing. When she would start cooking, she would look at me and say " are you going to watch me?" And I would say yes and she would go grab the dining room chair for me. I would be in awe. She said cooking was a lot of work and that she doesn't have time to answer questions. She said to watch and see. So kitchen time became quiet time. I would be amazed and in awe. By her seasoning, her technique. It felt like I was watching a ritual. My families ritual. Her recipes are with me.till.this day, I still can't cook like her though!
Ain't nothing to it but to do it!!! You need to practice and keep practicing for you, your husband, children, and grandchildren! Eventually, you will be amazed at the final outcome! Good Luck....

I close my eyes and it is like having my nonna Maria back. She had a room with literally 500 jars of sauce and hot peppers she grew hanging. She had 13 kids and was a widow at 39. She passed at 99.
