I had an '83 version, its first year of production, which had bugs, but I believe Honda made improvements for '84-'85...Yours has 36k miles, was it reliable?..Mine had a strong, smooth engine, but it went thru batteries fast, had transmission/shifting issues and the high beam was aimed at the sky.I was still impressed. Your bike sounds pretty good after so many years and miles. I had mine from '83 thru '92,when some a-hole vandalized it,and I had no insurance. My current bike is a 2005 Harley Softail.
Hi guys, the strange sound comes from the autofocus on the camera. Engine still runs beutifully. I might post another video from my Nighthawk if you are interested. I am also now working on a 1986 450 Nighthawk....:-)
Nice, I have two of them. 1985 Burgundy and 1984 Red one. I also have a mint 1986 Magna V45 and a 1982 Yamaha Seca XJ650RJ US Spec with only 1687 original miles.
This looks EXACTLY like my first street bike. Rode it to high school 87-89. Loved this bike. Low maintenance and fun to ride.
Had an 83 I bought new. The classic "whirr" from the helical gears was classic. they are very smooth running bikes.
Great bike. I have it, since 20 years.
wow that bike has been taken care of,looks like new
Very nice bike! And thanks for posting the URL of my website! :)
I have your website on my favorites.
Nice bike, I had a 1985 that I bought new, would be nice to have a Nighthawk 650 again.
I have a 1985 nighthawk 650 for sale
+Matt Lee, what state are you in and what is the condition?
The bike is in great condition. It has 44000 miles. Runs strong. I am in Arizona

I suggest you check if your starter relay is broken. Mine just quit one day.
Where could l find a motorcycle like this $$?
Try Ebay
Sounds like your starter might be going bad
+Noah Billingsley Is that what you hear @ 1:16 ?
+msbeboo1 no you can hear a higher pitch noise @0:09 that sounds like the starter, my old bike did that a couple times before it broke.
Noah Billingsley Ah thanks. But what is the sound I hear when the ignition is turned off?
+msbeboo1 I really couldn't tell you, I'm not sure myself but it sounds like an electrical problem.
Thanks again.
Code lack please.
