Hey welcome to Loona! I hope you enjoy your listening and journey into what I believe is one of the best discographies in all of kpop. Thanks for reacting to Why Not and this guide!

You should react to the video called “loona: the avengers of kpop”(or smth like that) It tells a lot more about the group as a whole, instead of just focusing on the members individually
4th gen started on late 2017 btw, right around when BTS's DNA was released since it was also the time BTS started to become very famous in the west and pretty much made the western market easier to capitalize in. Suffice to say, DNA gave birth to 4th Gen, the same way EXO's Growl did to 3rd Gen Edit: 4th Gen doesnt exactly end next year as well, it's not like 1st Gen and 2nd gen lasted only 5 years, something really influential and impactful or "way-paving" has to happen before a new generation comes around
@@minjkth everyone that debuted after stray kids and gidle is 4th generation and like op said, kpop blow up internationaly during that time. the generation are separated by year but also by the style, sound and its influence:)
@@minjkth like I said, BTS's DNA started 4th gen, DNA was released in September 2017, which makes late 2017 the start of 4th Gen Edit: One of the earliest 4th gen groups is The Boyz, they debuted in December 2017
For the people in the chat and such generations in K pop do not have a certain amount of years before the next generation starts. It doesn't really work like that and like for people saying that like 4th gen would end next year for taking the difference of 3rd and 4th gen in account but I think the generation time gaps are getting shorter and shorter because of like technology and the kpop industry is advancing so quickly but I don't think it really means that 5th gent starts next year because it still feels like 4th gen has a way to go for me, but as DKDKTV once said no one really knows how to divide the years we've just, some of us at least, have just sort of come up with a consensus of when we're in a certain general we don't know when whatever ended or started. Like where some people could be based on inflation of groups or a great rise in sales in kpop in general or whatever. For some people 4th is considered to have started whenever every single group had a good amount of International fans, whatever that might mean, at the time of their debut then that may or may not disclude some groups that people consider to be 4th gen groups so it's weird. It might also be easier to tell if we could hear from people who were in kpop when it was transitioning from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd.
To my understanding the generations are not determined by any set number of years. A generational shift is defined by a change in k-pop’s standard sound and style. It’s also when newer groups start dominating over older ones. The exact timeline of each generation is still debated (and that’s not even considering the mess that is the possible existence of 2.5 and 3.5 gens), but I’d say it’s as follows: 1992 - 2002 (Gen 1) 2003 - 2010/2011 (Gen 2) 2011/2012 - 2016/2017 (Gen 3) 2017/2018 - Present (Gen 4)
Hi so my favorite group is loona, so I have a bunch of recommendations for funny videos (that aren’t their music), so if u want to, u can check them out! They’re called “if you don’t STAN LOONA after this…#1” “loona being chaotic during Yves’ birthday party” “loona trying to celebrate orbits’ first anniversary” “loona helping u fall asleep for 16 minutes” “loonas extremely chaotic first Halloween” “loona trying to be silent” “loona surreal moments” “loona moments that live in my mind rent free” “loona moments that feel like a fever dream” and they’re all seriously so funny. Also if u want to get into the loonaverse, I recommend the channel “hidye1” they make rly good videos on it. And I also, my song recommendations are “heart attack” “girl front” “eclipse” “egoist” “love cherry motion” “hi high” “paint the town” “love4eva” “new” also, they’re having a comeback one June 20th!! (Sorry I know that was a lot lol)
you gotta listen to their predebut discography/ies, it's some of the best that Kpop has to offer

You should listen to each of their solo songs. It really shows each personality and stories. Yves and Kim lips are my favorites.
