Most UPSC and Sarkari Naukri Aspirants suffer from that. 99% of them waste their valuable years of life in these preparations and end up jobless. Their lives are even harder because now they don't have a job and don't have a Flawless CV too. When they approach Corporations or Agencies for jobs, they are shown the way out because there are younger and better candidates who have flawless CVs. You think I am demotivating you? Hell yes I am. Magical thinking will always be there until people learn to accept bitter truth.

My current salary is 8 LPA doing a corporate job from the past 3 yr. I don't love my job and have recently grown interest in learning psychology. I gifted my parents a car last year and now I don't have much money left to pursue this course, something that I truly wish to learn. I don't care how much I'm gonna be paid but at least I'll be doing something that I love
Register for an MA in psychology through IGNOU or any other university upon further research at your end. IGNOU has a well laid out plan for students like you, who may pursue courses like psychology at a very reasonable fee. They provide all study material and online classes too. You will have a study centre as well where you can go and study on weekends. If you have serious interest in the study of the mind, there are numerous resources available. RUclips being one.

I am pursuing psychology in IGNOU currently along with my business and other stuff. You can also pursue MA as stated above. It's quite reasonable and IGNOU degree is valid worldwide.

@@arnavnath1844Then you can go for your masters in psychology. If you are planning to pursue the course further and want to practice in the field then IGNOU or any distant education won't be helpful. Ignou is good for UG but not PG.
Its related with doctory field and the resolution and experience and how much the patient comes bak will depend.

Well even to just get paid for listening to people, you just don't need be all ears. It takes years to reach that stage and even more skills and hardwork to earn something from just listening.
Well... it's not confined to merely 'listening' to people as such. Even if so, what about the skills you have to have in order to not carry the trauma dump of other people in your mind and not let it affect your daily life activities? I hate to say it but people's traumatic experiences are just quite heart shattering to listen and for people like me who're empaths, damn it's very difficult to not that affect your normal functioning
Therapists don't just listen to people
I/O is industrial and organisational psychology, they have nothing to do with therapy, they are more like HR. The policies HR implements these guys are behind that research.

@@UnKnown-em4dj salary after undergrad is low if you go in clinical side, you need masters and PhD to earn good. But if you go in HR or UX/UI side you can make good money. The hottest career in tech right now is UX Research & Design and psychology is huge part of it, many tech companies like Google and META hires psychology graduates for UX roles.

Psychologist dont treat depression, psychiatrist do. Both are vastly different.
Both “treat” depression however a psychologist provides therapy and a psychiatrist prescribes medication for depression
