And if you're open to here a conviction that everyone can relate to, this man and this band could change your life, your entire outlook on the big picture. It makes me smile to see what these guys do that most Christian bands won't even attempt. Mattie is a true disciple of God.

In march this year i saw for today at soma in san diego. After the show i went to the back and waited to talk to mattie about god. He spent about an hour talking to me and answering my questions. This man spent time trying to help me, an atheist who's interested in god, try and find him when no one else would. I have more respect for this man then i do for my own father. I haven't accepted god yet but maybe someday i will.
I've fallen away from God. And this video, in a sense, jump started a reevaluation of my life. I thank God for men like Mattie. Men that I can look up to and say, "I want to be more like him."

Mattie is a great person. I met him a year or so ago, and he baptized one of my friends. He seems like a great dad, and if Christianity is what gives him the drive to bring his son up right, so be it. The whole "god speaks to me" thing still freaks me out, and I don't believe it, but for the sake of this child, he couldn't have asked for a better father. The only thing I see wrong is this kid probably isn't going to have a choice in religion. Which is sad. Everyone deserves the right to choose.
sometimes it takes a long time. it's not the most convenient thing in the world. it can come at a great time in life, a horrible time in life, or anything in between. I'm glad you're trying, and I'm glad to hear you appreciate that it helps so many people. often there's nothing but God's own plans "holding you back". i see what your saying, but in my position as a son, i grew up in a christian family and my father always wanted what was best for me even if i didnt understand at the time. now that im older and on my own im thankful for the home i was raised in and how i was raised. my father showed me the way to live and i cant thank him enough, because figuring it out for yourself is hard. idk thought i would share my point, hopefully that helps

Sure, I am the opposite of them and believe in the Entity that they are against, but just because our views and beliefs are different, doesn't mean I can't respect their message and meaning.

I know because one day, I found myself, searching all my heart for what I wanted. I was depressed. I had it with life. I needed to know in that moment, what was it that I was lacking, that I needed? I knew it was love, but I didn't know who I needed it from. I had it from my family, friends, girls. But that wasn't enough. So I realized I wanted someone to love me...

If Mattie raises his child right, and I believe he will, then his son will know that he does have the choice. One day he will be old enough to ask questions and seek things out for himself. In the end, no matter what, that kid will have to choose what he believes, and why he believes, for himself.
i know wat its like......to not having a father is one thing.. you can grow up and rely on someone or a grandad for that hole inside you but growing up having a father thats never there even if hes alive ..even in the same house when all he cares about is his worldly achievements...forgetting about family. that is the worst...because there is no excuse like a dead father would have but he created death inside you ....an empty space allways crying out inside for your dad to love you......allways hoping he eventually died...but i forgave him 2 years before he died...love him too much.... allways make peace with yourself and God and forgive... sometimes they just dont get it..and they dont realise they doing wrong. they too caught up in things.... regret is not mine get up get strong be filled with love..move on..
