A few weeks ago, I cut up a pj pant that had seen better times. I used this to cut up 4 pair "muslin" panties. I sewed one and was so discouraged that I put away my supplies and went back to my T-shirt making. When I saw that you were going to do a sew along, I was ecstatic. Today I pulled out my basket and sewed along. JOY! Evidently, the stitch I was using was causing my elastic to grow (my leg elastc grew by 8 inches even though I was trying to be careful not to overstretch it). After using the "4 width and 3 length" settings, my panty turned out beautifully! Thank you!! I'm looking forward to sewing up a slew of them. I've been enjoying all of your videos lately. My anxiety levels are definitely improving while focusing on sewing and not the news that my hubby enjoys during most of his waking hours. God bless you and stay safe and healthy.
I have my pieces cut out and I can't wait to start. Your tutorial is so easy to understand and I love how you have included all the different elastic options. Thank you!
I'm so glad to see this. I saw someone else do these and the sewed the pieces and gusset first before adding the gusset lining which didn't make sense. Much more practical doing it in one go.
Thank you! I have been struggling with bands and bindings for ever! Yours was the first explanation that I actually got the sewing of them! 85% etc does not help if you do not get how to sew them on. Lots of FOE and lots of scraps and a pattern that fits. Away I go! Again, thank you! Best tips. Sew on the inside of the circle. Did not know this. And understanding exactly where the stitches are to fall on FOE.
You are right. Those colourful pants are fun and they are cute. They remind me of how most pairs of men’s underpants looked like when I was a teenager in the 70s. These days mens underpants tend to be very bland and dull. I am glad the patterned pair were also your favourite.😊
Hi Whitney, I would like to thank you for this daily video during our quarantine, I am french in my small village near Lyon and so appreciate to see your tips, your professionnal sewing, and I love your finished ideas for gartment, and today for underpants !! so cute and I am fan, thanks again for this given time for us !!! bisous, Sylvie

I am new to sewing underwear, and when I saw the burrito gusset instruction, it was not something I have heard about before. You explained it exactly right for me to understand and use this technique. Thank you for the instruction. Also, I have been wanting to make my own underwear for awhile. I am very long geared and I find I can always find the bikini fit, but I also like the full panty style, to the waist and they are impossible for me to find the right size. I also appreciate learning about a soft band, as a tshirt style, because I think of all the undies I have worn, that style really is comfortable. Thank you so much, I will be back for more sewing goodness.

@@TomKatStitchery Whitney, I only got an serger 10 months ago, up until then I has never sewn with knits, I taught myself to sew from a book long before RUclips and I love it, now I love knits, I watch you and others to learn as much as I can, for the great chat and the sense of camaraderie. I admire all the sewers I watch you are all brilliant women! Thanks for your part in teaching me to sew with knits!
Thank you for this! That’s the first time I’ve seen someone do a fabric band instead of elastic. Great idea! It looks so comfortable! I’ve still got a couple projects to do before I get to sewing my underwear, but I really want to get to it!
I love this idea, too. I think it is probably the easiest and looks more comfortable to wear. It seems like there is always enough fabric left over to get a few bands cut!

Thank you for this. I want to make this pattern and wanted to use picot so this is very helpful. Also I like that I can watch this again if I need different finishing techniques.
Thanks for the video. I downloaded the pattern and tried a muslin pair. The back fit well, but for me the front pattern was not deep enough and too wide, so using a favourite pair that fit me well I measured the difference and added an extra 1 1/2” to front depth so they came up nearer to my naval and chopped 1/2 “ off front and back side seams losing 2” in all and trued the side seams and now they fit me perfectly. I found your tutorial very helpful especially explaining the burrito bit. I used pico elastic this time but have fold over and like the jersey band idea too.
Because I make skating dresses, I happened to have a huge stash of elastic, including two 50 yard spools of nude that I ordered at the start of the season. I am switching to sewing some underwear, looks like fun! Also...I use wonder clips for knits frequently- great for slippery fabrics.
I just made 30 pair of girls underwear for my granddaughters. I used a self fabric waistbands and leg bands. Serve red all the seams so it was very fast. I even cut up come t-shirts and an old dress of mine.
Perfect panties and look like a well done fit. Always wanted to sew them but needed the confidence to do so well. I have the briefs of Kick Sew early sold pattern. I'm excited to pull out my supplies (all put together in a box) it is an easy find. I'm so excited for these panties to sew a long. I am keeping and following along i just don't get sewn as many as you do in one setting. Thanks for the sew along. Now to get my box of supplies!
I sew a lot of knits but mostly viscous knits since they drape better. Like you my first thought was that underpants had to be in cotton, but I wanted to use up some of all my scraps so I made pair in viscous knit. They are so comfortable definitely my favorite pair - got to make more.
Hi! 😊 I have recently discovered your channel and love your content and the amount of detail in them. I’m a new sewer and decided to attempt these knickers after watching your tutorial, and I succeeded! 🎉 I made them with knit waist and leg bands and it worked fine until it came to the top stitching. When it came to sewing over the gusset seams my sewing machine struggled and chewed up the thread. They’re still wearable, SO comfortable and a fantastic way to recycle an old t-shirt 😂🤷♀️ Thank you for all your fantastic tips 💞
Yay! I’m so glad this worked! Machines can become fabric hungry when it comes to lighter knits. Just go slow and maybe even hand crank the machine when you get to those bulkier seams and you should be fine!
oh my goodness, I just sewed my first ever pair of underwear, with your tutorial at my machine every step of the way and even my first pair came out just great . i know with practice it will get even better, thank you. your channel is my favorite sewing channel. I am going to check out your sew alongs because you really are a good instructor.
I have several cut out and ready to go but no elastic and as I'm not working at the moment I can't buy any. Had been thinking about adding bands but didn't know if it would work. Will be able to get on with this now. I always memory press neck bands before joining the ends as it's so much easier to press on the flat. Thank you for all the videos I always learn something.
This is great as I like the ones that don't use elastic. I want to use up scraps but keep being put off as by the time I buy the elastic it is cheaper to buy thr knickers from a store. This means I can make from purely scraps
Thank you Whitney, this was a great tutorial, I really like the idea of using contrasting knit fabric, since I don’t have picot elastic. On another note. I was sewing masks for our congregation out of denim for the men, and my sewing machine Froze! The hand wheel was frozen, nothing moved. My sewing machine is an old Kenmore that I had serviced a year ago. Ugh! I have been wanting a new machine for sometime, but this machine while not fancy has done almost anything I wanted to do. A friend of ours will be looking at my machine, to see if he can fix it....I really don’t want to buy a machine without trying it out first. I have never had a computerized machine, but now I may have to. Sooo, I may be knitting again while watching you sew.
Sorry to hear your machine has froze. Last year my Kenmore stopped working (early 70's). Turned out the clutch broke. Since I had been wanting a machine that would do embroidery I purchased a new machine that would and have loved playing with it. I did finally replace the clutch in my Kenmore so I have both machines now. I hope whatever you get will be one that you enjoy. At least you have You Tube to learn about different machines and what they have to offer so when it comes time to test drive/buy you'll have a list of ones you want to try. You may want to check out "HeirloomCreations" (if you haven't already). She takes a machine and goes through the manual page by page showing you what the machine is capable of.
B Cobler thanks so much for the suggestion! My Kenmore was probably around the same time period...I was trying to wait a bit to replace it as a retirement gift to my self...but then this quarantine thing happened! A friend of ours is trying to fix it ....just really bad timing lol.
I used an ITY knit in a boy short panty, they are just a tiny bit small, obviously not the fault of the knit, but they are very comfortable. I used stretch lace and it worked great. I get most of my stretch lace from Fabulace on Etsy. For what they have, the price is excellent. I like that you showed different elastic options. All I ask of unders is they STAY PUT! Fold over elastic can be a pain, or the best ever, but I haven’t had very good success on making it look nice where I finish.
Great use of scrap jersey. Love the use of fold over elastic with a zigzag. Must sign up for the free pattern because I have lots of fold over elastic. I use a long straight stitch, for cross over jersey tops to hug thd body. Neckline last forever even when the lycra on the jersey has worn out (spent many hours figuring out the tension of FOE😥).
The clips are great to use with the serger. No oops like with pins. You should think about sinking your machine in the table. My shoulders hurt just looking at you. Great video. Definitely going to try this.
Thanks for sharing... you may want to try the clips... I use them with my serger a ton and pretty hard to sew over them ever....and I have the husqvarna s21 that I leave setup for cover stitch and bought a used serger for just serging... it does make things easier... but I can also convert the s21 to serger if needed which I love
I took an old pair of my underwear and removed all of the stitches then using the fabric pieces, I made a sewing pattern. I made myself the most adorable stretch lace bikini underwear on my serger. The lingerie elastic comes in beautiful colors and patterns. It is so soft against the skin and not at all bulky. You can make a rosette in satin ribbon to sew on the front of the waistband. You can make a pair for every day of the week in a variety of knits, jersey, and stretch laces! I love all of mine and they fit perfectly!😊
TomKat Stitchery Yes!! I really like visiting and subscribing to channels like yours!! It is wonderful that more and more people are becoming interested in sewing. I love all of it, from making my own continuous bias binding to drafting my own patterns. My garments are always on grain, plaids match, buttonholes are neat and professional, etc. When you have a passion for something, it drives you because you enjoy perfecting your craft!😊
Great tutorial on making underwear - and on fold-over elastic application (something I've struggled with previously). On another note, I do not own the Butterick See & Sew 6543, but while looking through my patterns I found that I do own McCalls 7745, which has a view that is almost identical (view C has an additional ruffle, but I am looking at view D, shortened)! Thought I'd pass this information along for anyone else who is hoping to participate in the sew-along! The pattern reminds me a great deal of the Sew Over It's Eve Dress, but I am not sure if that one is as similar, as I do not own that pattern.
Hi dont know if you watch Liz Sews on youtube but she does fantastic tutorials on underwear ,she has just done a video on how to do a underwear block . shes definitely worth a look .
Thank you for the undies tutorial. I believe I will attempt a pair. I agree this would be a fantastic project to use for practicing my elastic sewing skills and to use up some scraps of fabric. You said the magic word....swimsuit. Would you consider doing a swimsuit tutorial? I'm not a bikini kind of gal, but would like to try my hand at a one piece swimsuit. It's almost May and in Oklahoma we are barely in the 70's for the daytime high. I'm hoping this summer it will get hot enough to open our swimming pool. Last year it was so cool we didn't even open it up. Have a blessed week!
Morning Whitney, loving your sew along tutorials. I was thinking the picot stitch or three step zig zag would also be great for top stitching the elastic. I have lots of scraps and I need to make some undies. Have a great day Val 🇨🇦🇬🇧❤️
Whitney , I just love the printed pair with the fabric bands. They are so cute & look like they would be very comfy. My old sewing machine will not cooperate with small seams at all. I have changed my settings and tried basting first & it just won't work. Thanks so much for sharing this tutorial! Take care and God Bless.
In my pre married life I worked in piece sewing on an underwear line for Harvey Woods clothing. I sewed the front and back onto the crotch gusset every stinking day! Do you know how many pairs of underwear you can sew in an eight hour day when you work assembly line? 300 plus, but if you had the years of experience those around me had they could easily do 450 or more!
The picot trim and the bright print panties are my fav.'s!! They are all cute, but those are extra cute! :+) I actually got a pin stuck in my serger blade one time-what a nightmare!! But..I finally got it out with my hemostat. Never want to do that again! Making swim wear is quite enjoyable, but I never did get around to making bras and panties-something I could most definitely do with my scraps!! You have beautiful hands!! Do you put make-up on them before you film?? Great tips for the fold over elastic!! I have a "love/hate" relationship with it!! LOL!! Have you ever used the elastic with the draw string for pants and hoodies?? I really like it for men's shorts. The elastic with the buttonholes in it for skirts and pants, etc...is great as well-not of course for undies!! LOL! I just cannot remember if you had used those on anything before or not(?) Thank you, and have a great week!! :+)
You seem like a very experienced and excellent seamstress, you're teaching is excellent, but I just wondered why you don't use the auromatice needle threader on your sewing machine?
Hi. Love your video. Wich elastic do you find is the most comfortable/less bulky please. I've been doing mine with bands but got some FOI and replaced a stretched-out waistband. It went well. I'm wanting to make a couple of new ones with a cute 4-way stretch cotton fabric a bought a couple of years ago and want to do it all FOI but I'm afraid it will be bulky for the leg bands. Ty. 🌹
After wearing these pairs for quite a bit, my favorites are the FOE pair and the picot elastic pair. They stay put the best and are the most comfortable!
Thanks for the very informative sew along1 I first watched this and bought the pattern when you first posted, and I am finally getting around to making them - 2 years later! Would a 100% cotton jersey be a good choice or do u think it's necessary to have some spandex in there?
I think you could get away with 100% cotton jersey as long as the stretch percentage matches the pattern recommendation. However, I wouldn't use just 100% cotton for the waistband or leg bands. I would either use the elastic methods or use another cotton/spandex fabric for the bands!
I used cotton/spandex jersey scraps from other projects. You could also use a viscose or rayon/spandex blend (or any knit, really). These are fabulous scrap busters!
I watched the video last night and love the idea of making some of these underwear as I really need some new ones and I have tons of jersey knit someone just gifted to me. Many are small cuts so perfect for making these, AND a free pattern how can I go wrong with that. Just signed up for the newsletter on Megan Mielsen site and downloaded my free pattern. Now I just have to figure out why my printer is not working. Hopefully I will soon have a few of these sewn up.................thanks!!!!!
I tried the self band style on a pair of underwear's leg holes this week--but the band's seam on the edges of the gusset turned out really bulky, ruining the smoothness of the burrito-style gusset. Could you include a close up of how the gusset should look when it is finished? Do you have any tips to keep the gusset area smooth? Thank you so much for posting this video! It has been SO helpful!
If you’re getting too much bulk at the gusset, I would try moving the seam of the band around to the side seam of the panties. That would help to reduce bulk!
The Twirly Dress.....I must make one......please. what is the pattern name and number? Thank you. I enjoy your You Tube posts. Happy holidays💃 happy sewing!
😂 thank you! TomKat Stitchery was my custom clothing and alterations business name before I started the channel. TomKat is what I call my twins (it’s a combination of their names).
I have bought knickers with fabrics bands and found the back panel relentlessly snuck up my backside. Do you think the fabric bands needed to be tighter for them to work on me? I walk briskly and wondered if they weren't suited for anything but lounging.
I agree! Now that I’ve been wearing these for a while, I prefer the two that use elastic. The fabric bands move on me as well. It is possible that making them a bit smaller would help!
do they come in big girl size lol i cant believe how fast u changed needle and foot wow i have such a long way to go but i would love to sew underwear u made it seem so easy
Hi again. Most tutorials for sewing lingerie elastic (the one with picot edge) says to stitch as close to the decorative edge as possible for the first pass. Is it a sound advice?
I love this tutorial! I just went to Joanne's and got some fold over elastic. They only had two yards left so I'm glad I found some. How do you keep your serged ends from unraveling?
What an incredibly small world! This is my neck of the woods! I literally have lived on the Darling Range my entire life for 40+ years, surrounded by Acacia trees!! So odd
@@TomKatStitchery Her studio is 'on the flats'. Real inner city suburbia. 'just' on the outside of the perth city expanse. Just. But still in main suburbia. without naming my exact suburb on here, I grew up very near Mundaring. Which is sort of directly east of Perth by 45mins, by car, good traffic. You slam into the darling range and drive up onto it aaaaand eventually off it. Mundaring is 'bush'. Where you, already started getting what are nicely called 'hobby farms' nowadays. So 1-5ish acres, with a smallish town centre, with small suburbian properties. By the time you get to Mundaring, you've already been driving through 10+mins of what appears to be wide spread dense bush. My parents suburb, is properties that used to be 5-20ish acres, and are now mostly 5-10ish. Due to subdivision. I grew up on 5 acres, which they still have. Perfectly, absolutely gorgeous. So for me- after spending 35? years up around the bush, and much further inland- towards the start of REAL farming land....(an hour and a half+ east of Perth) (and, what is actually what a real Aussie would call 'out BUSH'- the grain, sheep farms- that are massive) ....im now living very near Midland (20-25mins east by car from Perth) for the past decade. Surrounded by house, house, house, house.🤪🤪🤪 I'm in REAL suburbia. Midland is one of the biggest town/suburbs, outside of perth population wise. A decade on living here, now I'm 43- STILL real hard on me to live in suburbia- can't get used to it after growing up on 5 acres and living in Esperance--- REAL farming land. (the best beaches in the world. Whitest sand, crystal clear water. My kind of church!) Thankfully I'm in a quietish little spot suburbia wise. Growing up you couldn't see another house from my parents. Now the houses are metres apart or less! But, me being poor and therefore no car!! I have to live down here for bus routes and close to doctors etc. I'll email you photo of my folks house if I can find any thats not a photo. Beyond gorgeous! Are you in real suburbia, just off a main city?
Simone Duff that sounds beautiful! I’ve never been to Australia, but it is on my bucket list! Some day! I also live in suburbia, just north of Indianapolis (a major city). I also grew up in a rural community surrounded by “real” farms and ranches in the Midwest. I also love the open spaces (also, the ocean is my soul calming place as well!).
@@TomKatStitchery the ocean replenishes my heart and soul!!!! My parents leave me one of their cars when they 'volunteer holiday' (anything wildlife) and I go to the nearest beach, 1hr plus away (which is crap compared to Esperance) and just sit and listen, and have it refill my soul. (Whilst surrounded by rich suburbia!) Definitely need a beach at the moment!!! I've lived alone for a very long time, which is fine!! honestly, but now not being able to even hug my parents once a fortnight...it's killing me!!! So virtual hugs to everyone instead 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

I’m so glad!
Thank you. Love this video. Especially NO music!
Oh good!
I'm definitely going to try this! Thanks.
Oh good!
Yeyyy y just made my first pair of undies with this video! Thank youuuu so happy with them! Love your personality :)
Oh good!!!
I sew a lot of knits but mostly viscous knits since they drape better. Like you my first thought was that underpants had to be in cotton, but I wanted to use up some of all my scraps so I made pair in viscous knit. They are so comfortable definitely my favorite pair - got to make more.
That’s good to know! I have some bamboo and viscose scraps!
Thank you for an excellent tutorial!💕 I can’t wait to start making my own undies.
Oh good! They’re a fun sew!
Bestest tutorial ever
I’m so glad you liked it!
TomKat Stitchery I’m definitely going to make more, so hopefully practice makes perfect 👌😁
Sharon Selfridge it definitely does!
Thank you! I have this pattern but never tried--I will definitely make this now.
Oh good!
Thanks for the tutorial! I needed new underwear and this is perfect!
I have been wearing my new undies a ton! They are great!
Excellent tutorial!
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
oh my goodness, I just sewed my first ever pair of underwear, with your tutorial at my machine every step of the way and even my first pair came out just great . i know with practice it will get even better, thank you. your channel is my favorite sewing channel. I am going to check out your sew alongs because you really are a good instructor.
This is so great to hear! Thank you!
Love these, you have inspired me. Am printing out patterns right now.
Oh good!
love, love, love underwear tutorials! I may have just ordered a bunch more foldover elastic :) I am digging through knit scraps, as I watch- lol
Yay!! It’s a really fun scrap busting project. Also, it’s super fun to wear the pretty undies you’ve made!
Where do you order your elastic from?
I have several cut out and ready to go but no elastic and as I'm not working at the moment I can't buy any. Had been thinking about adding bands but didn't know if it would work. Will be able to get on with this now. I always memory press neck bands before joining the ends as it's so much easier to press on the flat. Thank you for all the videos I always learn something.
Oh good! The knit bands really make this a great stash busting project!
This is great as I like the ones that don't use elastic. I want to use up scraps but keep being put off as by the time I buy the elastic it is cheaper to buy thr knickers from a store. This means I can make from purely scraps
Definitley!! The knit bands make these a complete scrap buster!
Oh no! What a horrible time to have your machine on the outs!
Fold over elastic definitely has a learning curve! I want to play around with some stretch lace. I’ll go have a look at that Etsy shop!
That FOE is no joke. Why is it so hard 😂? I really love it, now that I’ve got the sewing down!
i was going to cut out a few tee shirts today, but I think I'll give this a try instead. Thanks for the tips !
My pleasure!
Great tutorial. I am really liking the wonder clips while sewing. When serging there is no way you will sew over them.
I need to get some of those!
The clips are great to use with the serger. No oops like with pins. You should think about sinking your machine in the table. My shoulders hurt just looking at you. Great video. Definitely going to try this.
Definitely! My shoulders totally ache when I use the home machine (which isn’t often). My main machine is in a table and is SO much better.
This is so very useful, with only a sewing machine it's gonna be a bit more tricky I suspect.
Not at all! Just use a stretch stitch or a narrow zig zag for the seams (I like 1 width and 2.5 length) and you should be good!
Great tutorial. Thank you
You are welcome!
Thank you for this video! Can’t wait to try!
My pleasure!
That’s what I’m wanting to do, buy a separate coverstitch machine. As soon as they money tree blooms I’m going to grab one 😉.
I had to come back and save this.
Oh good!
Fold-over elastic was a scary thing for me. Now, I think I can do it, thanks!
Oh good!
Isn’t sewing the best?!!
Thank you! I will pass this info along for the sew along! It reminds me a great deal of the Sew Over It Eve dress as well!
Thank you so much Whitney!
My pleasure!
So much useful information!!! Thank You :)
My pleasure!
Hi dont know if you watch Liz Sews on youtube but she does fantastic tutorials on underwear ,she has just done a video on how to do a underwear block . shes definitely worth a look .
That’s fun! I’ll go have a look!
15% perfect ratio..thank you!
My pleasure!
Definitely! I plan on doing a swimsuit sew along this summer!
Morning Whitney, loving your sew along tutorials. I was thinking the picot stitch or three step zig zag would also be great for top stitching the elastic. I have lots of scraps and I need to make some undies. Have a great day Val 🇨🇦🇬🇧❤️
Yes!! That stitch would also be a fantastic one to use!
They are incredibly comfy. They are also the best scrap buster because no need for elastic!
I have the same lacy stretch fabric to make underwear, and I bought it from Amazon.
❤️
Love it and I enjoy sewing undies
They are fun!
Thanks! Now I know what to do with that scrap pile of knits.
Yes! This is a great stash buster!
Wonderful information
Thank you!
Could you use a twin needle to make it look like a cover stitch?
Yes, you can!
Hi Whitney, New subscriber, love your channel. Blessings and take care. Mary
Fantastic! Welcome to the channel, Mary!
Thank you. This is my next covid project. Have you found any method less likely to show VPLs? aka, Virtual Panty Lines?
None of them are great for the VPL, but after wearing them all, I love the FOE and the picot elastic pairs the best. They stay in place better!
Thanks for the video. Please can tell me what sort of thread you use.(Cotton or elasticated thread on the bottom)
I was just using regular polyester thread (Gutermann Mara 100 to be exact) on the top and bobbin threads.
Oh my goodness! I don’t doubt it. You could probably do it in your sleep!
Did you use the burrito method to sew the underwear or a different method?
@@flower-uw1hm no they did exposed seams back then, that was 33 years ago! lol
The picot trim and the bright print panties are my fav.'s!! They are all cute, but those are extra cute! :+)
I actually got a pin stuck in my serger blade one time-what a nightmare!!
LOL! I just cannot remember if you had used those on anything before or not(?)
Thank you, and have a great week!! :+)
Thank you, Louise! I have also gotten a pin stuck in my serger blade. It was awful and not a cheap fix. I have learned my lesson 😂.
@@TomKatStitchery Yes, those are tough lessons!! :+(
@@TomKatStitchery You are most welcome!
You seem like a very experienced and excellent seamstress, you're teaching is excellent, but I just wondered why you don't use the auromatice needle threader on your sewing machine?
I used to use it, but it’s been broken for quite some time. It is handy, when it works, though!
Thank you!🌷 👍🤗
❤️
Do you think this pattern would work with jersey for the main and trim/elastic? I don't have other stretch material on hand?
Definitely! All my versions were with jersey.
@@TomKatStitchery Ooo now I'm excited!!
Great tutorial. What material did you use?
Oh good!
Hmm ... the dress I’m wearing the video or another one? I’m so glad you’re enjoying the channel!
I discovered you today with this video and love your presentation style. However, I have not yet seen a tom cat.
They do come in an extended size range! She has her sizes broken up into two different size brackets. They are a lot of fun to make!
For a larger female, a string bikini is the best 🩲 underwear to make. I love mine.
And it’s sexy!
Hi again. Most tutorials for sewing lingerie elastic (the one with picot edge) says to stitch as close to the decorative edge as possible for the first pass. Is it a sound advice?
If you're just wanting just the little picots to pop at the top, then yes.
Thanks for tutorial I will make my own they are getting so expensive. Lol
Oh good! They’re fun to make!
This looks hard to make for a beginner, very nice sewing..
If you have some knit sewing under your belt they aren’t too bad, but this is probably not a first time sewing project.
I love this tutorial! I just went to Joanne's and got some fold over elastic. They only had two yards left so I'm glad I found some. How do you keep your serged ends from unraveling?
I put the tails on a large darning needle and thread it back through what I just serged and then cut my tails!
Thanks
My pleasure!
What an incredibly small world!
This is my neck of the woods!
I literally have lived on the Darling Range my entire life for 40+ years, surrounded by Acacia trees!!
So odd
Ahh! Megan Nielsen is Australian so I’m assuming she names her patterns after her area. I think she lives in Perth. Is that close to you?
@@TomKatStitchery
Her studio is 'on the flats'.
So for me- after spending 35? years up around the bush, and much further inland- towards the start of REAL farming land....(an hour and a half+ east of Perth) (and, what is actually what a real Aussie would call 'out BUSH'- the grain, sheep farms- that are massive)
....im now living very near Midland (20-25mins east by car from Perth) for the past decade.
My kind of church!)
Thankfully I'm in a quietish little spot suburbia wise.
(Whilst surrounded by rich suburbia!)
Definitely need a beach at the moment!!!
I've lived alone for a very long time, which is fine!! honestly,
but now not being able to even hug my parents once a fortnight...it's killing me!!!
So virtual hugs to everyone instead 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
