I can't believe that you have all of the boxes and manuals and bags and packaging for the gameboy!!!! That's so cool!!! You rock man!!! Never let someone bring you down, you are awesome!!! :D
I also found on eBay that you can buy replacement batteries for the rechargeable ac adapter , so I wanted to get them for restoring a rechargeable ac adapter so it can hold a better charge. :)
Fun fact: the camera was America’s first glimpse of Pokémon because there were stickers of the starters a few months before the games themselves launched
Very nice videos. Serious with a lot of usefull information (both through your speech or what you show). Those videos could easily become reference videos.
I have very fond memories with the Game Boy line too. My youngest older sister and I got ours the Christmas of 1992. In addition to the Tetris pack in game, we each received one game. She got Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins and I got Kirby's Dream Land....as she grew out of video games, I gained possession of the other games she had, including SML2 and Tiny Toons. Excluding the Game Boy Micro and Pocket/Light, I had all of these. The standard Game Boy, the Grape Game Boy Color, the Kirby colored GBA and Flame red SP. I didn't get affected by Pokemon like some did, but I did have a few of the games (Blue, Yellow, Sapphire, Leaf Green and X) which began my small interest in RPG type games. I think I had maybe 3 toys from them altogether (the original Pokedex, and a couple of stuffed Pokemon. Here was my list: Tetris Kirby's Dream Land, Dream Land 2, Pinball Land and Block Ball, Nightmare in Dreamland and Amazing Mirror Super Mario Land 1, 2 and 3: Wario Land DK '94 MMPR The Movie Battleship (the CPU cheated in this game!) Dig Dug Pokemon (see above) Super Mario Advance,1, 2, 3 and 4 Zelda Minish Cap Super Mario Bros Deluxe Duke Nukem (which was a port of one of the side scrolling games from PC) Star Wars Ep 1 Racer
I have a Game Boy Printer too. The Cable it came with was convenient, as it also functioned as a GB pocket to Standard GB link cable. My Pokémon playing friends and I really appreciated it back in 1998.
I'm glad the video was a help! Next year, I will be reshooting several of my old unboxing videos that could use a visual upgrade. Unfortunately, since the recording of this original video, one of the Maxell batteries leaked. That's expected given their age, but luckily I was storing them separately from the Gameboy packaging for that very reason. Despite the leakage, the plastic bag is still intact.
@@yauy If you still have those batteries I'd love to have some pics of them so I can recreate the wrap. Working on a project that demands accuracy on the detail of the original Gameboy and that is the one detail that I haven't been able to find source material for.
Sorry, I have to teleport into 2013 :>). Because I am having a case of deja vu to have seen that proverbial GB case somewhere. And there it is. As far as I am concerned I would be happily seeing that case again in HD even in 50m or 1hour video. I am still very happy that you didn't go short (video) in renewed version.)
I'm glad you enjoyed the new version. When I went to record it, I couldn't find the case. I went back and forth about waiting to shoot the video until I found it, but I reasoned myself out of it because I don't have the original packaging for it. So the case will remain a feature unique to the original video. Thanks again for watching!
Cool video! I love the Game Boy, it is a quality system and huge fun, my Manchester United FC DMG-01 is my favourite! I enjoy its many games and have nearly 600 to choose from!! I also have a lot of peripherals as well.
I remember when the gameboy color came out. I was either six or seven and I played it endlessly, but the infrared data link always blew my mind cause lets be honest I had no idea how or why it worked it just did.
Game Boy Pocket definitely had motion blurring lol it wasn't until the Color where they used a different type of screen that finally got rid of motion blurring
When I see that GB light I can't help but thinking what a big deal "indiglo" was when it first came out. I wonder if they paid casio to use the real deal

LOL! Yeah that was my phone. I had already done so many takes and I was in no mood to start that one over for the pop sound. :)

If you own a GBA or a GBA SP, then you don't need a Game Boy, Game Boy Pocket, Game Boy Light, Game Boy Color and a Game Boy Micro.
Finally! Such informative videos! Great work man!
This brings back memories of me having a GBC (Game Boy Color) as a toddler.
One of my favorite Game Boy accessories was the Handy Boy. That thing was a beast, but it was awesome. Great collection video as always Yauy.

Super Mario Advance,1, 2, 3 and 4

Super Mario Bros Deluxe

Kinda funny how before they made re-models of their handhelds smaller when now they make them bigger with the XL DS's.
I have a Game Boy Printer too. The Cable it came with was convenient, as it also functioned as a GB pocket to Standard GB link cable. My Pokémon playing friends and I really appreciated it back in 1998.
Excellent reference video! The only one I found with the original batteries still in the box. Maxell. Now to find 4 of those batteries.

I'm surprised you keep most of the original packaging on most of your stuff. I usually threw everything away after about 4+ months.

Those old boxes are cool looking!
With the Gameboy Camera selfies were a thing back in 1998, apparently.
True. I hate selfies.

Now I wished I was born in the Time of the Nes and Gameboy
I wish I was born in the 90's
Levi The Living Meme Same
Great video yauy - thanks a lot of all the hard work putting into creating this video.

I' m a big fan of world of nintendo and i like your vids becasuse its very detailed thx!!
Finally ! Its irony...Im sure a lot of people were gunna ask if you were planning on doing this hahah
If you put it 2x it turns into gameboy unboxing speed run
Selfie with my 1989 gameboy lol 😂😂
The original Gameboy would have been released 30 year ago come next month...
24:05 Pop! A weird sound xD Anyway, great video, mate.
I remember when the gameboy color came out. I was either six or seven and I played it endlessly, but the infrared data link always blew my mind cause lets be honest I had no idea how or why it worked it just did.
Finally remembered who you sounded like! Matthew Broderick! I was thinking Inspector Gadget 1999!
Great and interesting video! By the way there was a different Gameboy printer released (Only in Japan of course!), the Pokemon Pocket Printer.
Where do you find these items in their original packaging, and how much does it cost?
Possibly ebay
Ahh nice to see you uploading more, can't imagine me surviving with out your videos much llonger
love these videos!!
Game Boy Pocket definitely had motion blurring lol it wasn't until the Color where they used a different type of screen that finally got rid of motion blurring
The pocket is surprisingly small considering you can already fit the original Gameboy in your pocket already
The Game Link cable is backwards compatible with Pokemon Red, Pokemon Blue, Pokemon Yellow, Pokemon Gold and Pokemon Silver
do you remembered or know what the box for the gameboy case look like
Very nice 😆
Nice you were one lucky kid
i love my gameboy family ,but is sad in not gameboy micro and light versions my collection handhelds games.
i just noticed 30 minutes passed
Is the one without the power led any more valuable. The gameboy pocket I have doesn't have the power indicator.
it was the first run of it and it's probably worth a little bit more in good condition maybe 150 US dollars
SCHWEET! LOVE YAUY'S VIDEOS
Saw this in my sub box and nearly shit bricks.. Love your vids dude!
When I see that GB light I can't help but thinking what a big deal "indiglo" was when it first came out. I wonder if they paid casio to use the real deal
What on Earth do you mean Nintendo doesn't give posters anymore? Do they at least sell them outside of video game packaging?
Where do you get such good in box systems I'm so jealous
How ironic that you make this because i was about to ask if you were making one.
AWSOME
The color is almost the same of the GameBoy pocket &GameBoy Light I look almost the same except the light is bigger
What about the gameboy cleaning kit.
Cool
Also im still wondering why my Green Play it loud! Game Boy has a very wiggly d-pad :/ Like, the d-pad is smaller than the hole so yeah :/
I Had A "Banana Yellow" System
15:13 Dude, I have the earlier version of that GameBoy
27:18 That's what she said
The gbc pocket isn't smaller in "every single dimension" the screen is bigger
i wonder if the 4 player adapter worked with pokemon
It didn't
Lowkey ASMR.
did anyone else hear a popping noise?
I have the game boy color color red
Nah I think the back pocket is supposed to be for you extra AA's
;)
I own a clear purple GBC.
Especially at 23:00
I prefer the GBA SP tan the standard 1989 Game boy.
What about game geni
you're rad. :)
I WANNA BE SEDATED WITH THE GAMEBOY
-AVGN
So a Nintendo DS isn't called a game boy DS
you didn't unbox any systems from the Play it Loud series
Because they were just recolors
but they have their own clear compact plastic packaging/ carrying case, I think that's worth noting
Seth Andersen He wouldn't review a box.
this whole video is looking at things come out of boxes, and why not the only time nintendo packaged a console in a clear jewel case?
He reviewed the thing *in* the box, but not the box.
Um.. dude the pocket came out in 1996 a year off
1989-1995 fanon
