Obenaufs makes a really nice waxed cloth boot lace for logging boots and wildland firefighter boots. They are awesome in that they slide through the eyelets well, are sturdy, and look vintage.

Now those sound like just the ticket, I'll look them up, thanks. Thanks for watching!

They are nicer boot than described by many writers as to stiff and clunky. I have a feeling many were buying logging boots instead of these thinner leather uppers. You could make a keeper to keep from cutting the upper strap.

That is an option, hadn't thought of a keeper. Need to cogitate some on that, thanks. And thanks for watching!

Can you tell me more about the cardigan sweater that you are wearing in the beginning of the video?
Thank you for the review of these boots. I do a WWI officer impression and have been interested in this type of boot for a while.

The cardigan comes from What Price Glory. You might need to do a search for "cardigan" as it might not show up in the US category.

Search for Seneca Red Top Sportsman's Socks. They were in business for a long while, closed down in the '90s I think, but you can find NOS if you keep looking. I found a pair on Ebay in the box for not too much money. You can see them in my video on "More Clothing for Classic Camping in the Fixin To Go Camping playlist. Thanks for watching!

Are the tongues sewn all the way up so they can be water proofed or just sewn at the bottom and water can get threw the laces?

Great question and something I should have addressed in the video. Yes, the tongue on these is sewn all the way to the top so should be more waterproof than others. Thanks for watching!
