Marriage classes is a great idea. I think most muslims dont have enough marriage skills needed to have a great marriage. Seeing a marriage counselor as a couple for a couple years I think would also be very helpful.
We didn't know anything , just got married, then have issues and don't know how to deal with it, our parent's didn't know either, culture issues etc.
Specially the men! Lol. Forgive me but brothers need classes
Wow this is so interesting. I'm glad marriage classes and counseling is becoming big, and even for muslims before they get married! This is such a great way to stay on the path of what's halal, instead of figuring out for ourselves. Masha Allah.

Brilliant work, for me I can say the age and life experience already gave me alot of lessons and alhamdulellah now am aware of all these points she mentioned, but still would enrol and get benefit of the discount also.But it is definitely best for girls and boys in their early 20s, I wish I truly wish I had knew all these things in my early 20s, But alhamdulellah everyone has its own journey and taqdir of Allah and his plans are always the best. @muftiMenk jazakallah for sharing it on your platform.

Two months ago I left my abusive husband’s house because of an argument we had. He slapped me like 3 times and I threatened him that I will kill him if he touches me again. He called his parent and told them I said I will kill him and then 4 of his family members came over to our house and we all left to his father’s house. We got there and they asked him what happened and all he said was he has nothing to say and that he doesn’t want me as his wife again and he went ahead to say that he doesn’t want any idda because he was scared that I can kill him, acting all innocent as if I am a bad person when he is the abuser. His dad asked if they can pay me off since his son doesn’t the idda. At that moment my heart dropped and felt very sorry for myself. All his fathers reaction showed that he wanted his son to divorce me moreover they didn’t want the marriage in the first place which I even got to know after the marriage. We concluded and i went to my parents house and everything happened in the absence of my family and up until now non of his family has called my family. We have a 4 year old daughter and I take care of her all by myself provide for her paid for her school literally everything and her dad has never sent a penny now he wants her to come and spend the weekend with him. To be honest am scared because he has threatened me before that I would never see my daughter again and that was an argument we had sometime ago and I had to go to my parents which his family refused to give me my child but I the end I was able to take her along.
To be honest I’m scared and am not trying to separate her from her dad but the idea of her going to live with for the weekends scares me.

For this beautiful initiative, we really need marriage counselling classes for all marriage groups ie pre marriage , intra marriage and post marriage counsellings that will reduce numbers of divorces in the Muslim society which is very very common cos' lack knowledge of what they expect in the marriage institute that results to
many young female divorcees in the society especially in the northern part of Nigeria...
I hope Islamic jurisdiction will make marriage counselling it compulsory.

Marriage is already predetermined by Allah and on this earth people find out their perfect match in many different ways- parents search the perfect match for their children. Marriage or Nikah is between two person who are equal in their thoughts, education, looks, likes And dislikes, And many things that should concern a marriage. Decision of marriage is very crucial in one's life and One should be very Alert while being agree to get married with anyone, otherwise one wrong decision will spoil the whole life. May Allah bless us with a loving And caring life partner. Ameen
Assalamu alaykom wa rahma'tullah wa barakatuh, parents should search out suitable potential partners, but often, family first [last and always...at the expense of the needs / rights of their children]. Parents should facilitate marriage, but often stand like a brck wall between what their child has expressed they would like, and I have even known of parents who have coerced their children into marrying the person the parents desire - at the absolute cost of thier child's emotional and mental and sometimes physical wellbeing. May Allah grant us all hedayah. ameen.

Secondly, I would like to thank Sister Maryam for compiling such a fabulous course it is much needed in the Muslim community. I actually run a marriage bureau in the UK on a part-time basis and come across so many clients who have such high expectations for their spouse but don't look at what they are offering in return. 🤔 the amount of barriers we face in this line of work can become extremely frustrating (!) especially when people forget the true meaning of why Allah taalah has encouraged us to marry in the first place. Marriage is truly an amazing bond between two individuals...its a shame people don't treat it with seriousness. I wish you all the best with this initiative and jazakallah Mufti sahib for inviting sister Maryam on your video. May Allah taalah grant you both success Ameen.

Sister Mariam Lemu has become a voice to reckon with in our country and breaking the taboo of not speaking up or seeking counsel about marriage in our society. Culture has eroded so many permissible acts of Nikkah that people can't tell the difference apart. This is a laudable concept and may Allah bring harmony to homes of our brethren.

Masha’Allah this is a great topic, my cousins need to see this ; they are only after the ideal marriageable age set by society and people that’s literally 25 or 26 or less for women and 27 or 28 for men , they’re not even mature or mentally ready ; only insecure about society as a result the marriage fails.

Marriages rarely break here in my place. But when it happens, obviously you are on the dark. Education for laymen like me is rare, but the need is reduced because of the social setup. But females might suffer a lot due to the setup. They might live through it rather than breaking/repairing it. You can see it right in front of your eyes here.

I would love to enroll because I don't think I know what I expect from a marriage and marriage itself is not a very luring notion to me seeing all the unhappy marriages around me. I also think I am thinking of getting married for the wrong reasons so I think enrolling in this would be a great idea. Hopefully the payment via PayPal is available as I don't have a credit card and therefore I couldn't take the eman channel courses either.
I am also wondering how to convince the person you're going to marry to take these classes as well? I dont think this works if only one party does it.

My parents relationship is going harsh from many years. So I am afraid to get married, I am scared that I might hurt my feelings and my patners. And can't set a ideal relationship for my future child. like my parents.
It is such a difficult situation that you are in, but know that your actions are not predetermined based off of your parents actions. Do your part by learning and healing, and ask Allah SWT to make you the best you can be! Make Dua to have someone that matches you in a way that makes your life and their better together than when you are alone. I believe in your ability to be an amazing partner and parent 💗
