This kid is great. One of the best, if not the best, performances I’ve seen on the world stage. And only 20 years old. He keeps it up and he may be considered one of the best of all time. Never seen anyone rag doll Vito like that.
To do this to the defending world champion is insane. Arujau could just get nothing going, and was never even close to scoring. Then to finish it with a throw like that.....Wow
@@iWrestling2.0 what else do you have on that short-list. mind you, not talking about competitive matches, but a match-up where such a high profile champion is roundly outclassed to where it's stopped on points
Pronounced "Masa Nose Kay". In Japan, people are introduced by family name first. Riddle ... what does a non-Japanese say when they draw him in the first bracket of a tournament? ... "Oh no! Masanosuke!" 😂 And Ono is depending on snaps (no shooting) because he still only a month into recovery from a broken leg! He's at Yamanashi Gakuin, about 2 hours west of me (me in Tokyo for 42 years). Think I might take a little drive and try to have a chat with him. They seem to have a thriving English program there, (in Kofu), but I dashed off a quick letter asking if the wrestling team could use a translater/interpreter. In another interview, Ono says he's been wresling since about 3 or 4 years old. Impressive because wrestling gets very little attention or funding in Japan.
Is it true that wrestling gets small funding in Japan ? Cause they are dominating. In 2020 Tokyo Olympics, they won 5 golds in wrestling. In 2024 Paris Olympics they won 8 golds in wrestling ( even won 2 golds in Greco Roman). I think they are doing something a little different to get these results if their funding is low. Maybe Judo skills influencing their training philosophy ?
@@sailingadventurer Yes, you are correct.in that they don't get any coverage on public media unless they win something at the world level and even then, they don't get much funding. There doesn't seem to be really much of a uniquely Japanese style or training regime ... just a handful of passionate individuals doing their thing. Either in this video or another I saw, Masanosuke said he learns most of his techniques not from a coach, but from carefully studying RUclips podcasts, especially American, and he spent a lot of time "shadow" wrestling alone, kind of like going through the warm-up drills a lot of American high schoolers (now younger students) do. I think you are right about the traditional martial arts having something to do with it. That, and an intensely competitive (and in most cases, authoritarian) school culture ... more similar to American military boot camp than American schools. I first came over here in '82 on a "cultural' visa and had to go through the motions of being involved in a traditional Japanese art or sport. Having wrestled a bit back in the states, I thought Judo would be easy enough ... but damn, even average judokas are as tough as nails, and generally built with a low center of gravity. Got taught a thing or two before I managed to change to a working visa.
vito will comeback make adjustmnets and wrestle like his ass is on fire and hell beat this dude. weather if its at next years worlds. the 2 uwill see each other again probaly a couple times until the olympics. i could see this turning into a rivalry.

Respect to the Japanese coaches, they've developed talent to a superior level.
I’m very fascinated with the recent achievements they have accomplished.
That last throw at the end was absolutely beautiful
I agree 100%.

Ono, A real sportsman and you can see he keeps up with American wrestling.

The kid definitely has the ‘WOW’ factor.
Vito looked unbeatable a couple years ago now he looks like a 8th grader that is wrestling a ncaa champ
I think Vito is a great wrestler. Ono is just a better wrestler than Vito.
Vito was injured.
@@daytonasayswhat9333 Can’t wait to see 100% Vito vs 100% Ono.
Ono ran through the tournament, basically teched or almost teched everyone. It´s not Vito´s fault. That kid is unreal.
@ Hoping that he gets better soon.
Thanks for posting this!
Thank you for watching.
is this the greatest mat performance in history?
I don’t think so but very close.

Yeah me too.
В пух и прах😮😊
20 years old. Good wrestlers are going to be moving up or down in weight for a long time.
Yes
Much, much respect to Ono. Great match, and great tournament. But something was off with Vito. He’ll be better next time.
@@daytonasayswhat9333 Yes, he will be.
High level technique off the collar-recollar shrug..Takes a step back and to the side to get the corner. Very fast and powerful. Yikes!
Молодчина 🎆🤝
His defense is insane Vito literally couldn’t do anything
So hard to take him down.
Круто! Есть видео с Угуевым?
