Monica yeah at least these cars are all available on lease for like £270-£350 a month. Super affordable for most people. I think the A45s and the Rs3 are stupid though, at £500-650 per month there are so many other cars I would have, ludicrous money for a hatchback.
The expensive stuff is what does numbers, seems like a lot of people like to see what is possible if you’re really hungry for success which is a great mindset to have, but having a mixture of cars is good also because there’s something for everybody.
I dunno about the others but the new M135i is real expensive. Or at least in some markets it is. The 6 speed M2 comp is equivalent to just £5-10k more . I'd rather have that or spend £10k less and get the M140i

For someone who knows about cars Mat, you should know the WLTP S3’s are a lot slower than the pre WLTP S3’s. That yellow S3 is not tuned. Race a 2017/18 S3 vs a 2019 S3 and you’ll see 🤷🏽♂️

Boost Wars emissions manipulation don’t affect performance. BMW and Daimler are also under investigation.
Man bites Life yes it’s true but it hasn’t been modified a lot whereas the GTR had significantly known an increase of powe (485hp in 2008 -> 570hp in 2016).

5:07 everyone knows that audis have been performing worse in drag races due to emission regulations Mat. Just look at the ttrs races.
They're all 0.5s slower than they were before
The RS3 used to do 12.2s, now its 12.7. Same with the S3, from 13.2s down to 13.7s

Sonny they might look boring but when you drive it through some winding roads you have the best driving experience you can ask for and if you ever sat in a r you’ll notice they are way more comfortable then the gti and just look way cleaner inside, just go test drive on and you’ll see.

2019 s3 has been tuned down by 10 bhp and new exhaust system for emissions, which means its now slower and quieter, thank god i got the 17 plate, cant wait for the a45 or m240i

I've got a new 2019 S3 Sportback and yes it's supposedly 10bhp down to meet new emissions. However, still massively impressed with it (always drive in dynamic mode) and the leather interior beats any of the other cars.

The S3 saloons are slower than the hatchbacks and the 2019 S3 has 10HP less than the old version due to the new emissions regs meaning it is fitted with the new particulate filter. That filter also effects the power curve as shown in another carwow video. The Yellow S3 from the other video is probably pre new regs based off the video dates.

I think it’s because all 2019 versions are slower due t emissions because the TTRS was half a second slower Than the 2018 version
My audi s3 saloon facelift black edition sitting on 67 plate. Its alot quicker than the newer s3. My actually would destroy all of them car from launch!
Exactly, the emissions cap per brand meant 2019 MY S3's had to reduce by 10bhp or so and make even less noise. It's made the market for 2016-2018 S3 and Golf R cars become more sought after than new cars
Jet X yep, I can attest to the fact that the newer S3’s must be slower. I’ve taken my 2017 US-spec S3 to the drag strip stock and with LC I got a consistent time of 12.89 and w/o LC of 13.3

I reluctantly sold my S3 Saloon last month after 2 years of ownership.. i know for a fact it was quicker than all of those cars. Audi has slowed it by 10bhp to meet new emissions guidelines. Sad to see.

@mat. The last time you raced an S3 Saloon it was against the B7 RS4. In that video the Saloon ran the 1/4 mile in 13.5 sec, which was the same as the BMW & A35 in this video. I'm not sure the driver did the S3 the justice it deserves. I'm happy to race my S3 Saloon in an upcoming video. 👍
