Needle in the gods' Eye doesn't just not need a spear, it doesn't require a melee weapon. A bow fighter could leap in the air and pop a couple targets.
I was just going to say that! This kind of feat is insane for a bow fighter, probably more than any other kind. It’s 2 actions for 3 of a move and shoot twice, ignore difficult terrain, and ignore MAP. This feat is SERIOUSLY cracked.
This whole book sounds like someone at Paizo just flipped through The Big Book of Mythology (TM) and pointed at this going "That. That. That one. This one." This just screams Cú Chulainn to me.
I don't think only my doom may claim me is intended to only work with the 3 physical types, flavor and everything makes it seem like it's any damage type dealt by a weapon and unarmed attack, basically weapons of all type are essentially going to bounce off you.
Some thoughts: - Nexus has 30 Polearms+Spears, AoN has 27. Reach and 2H are very common. One Maneuver Trait, Verstaile or Deadly are on nearly all. Very few Advanced or Simple ones, mostly Martial. - the Scythe is actually a polearm. And has a relation with Death and Doom - Piercing Doom isn't reusable _unless_ you get hit by your cursed weakness or otherwise get to Doomed. - Spear of Doom has the Arcane Cascade issue - the requirements are broken if you don't keep getting hit. - I really wish they would have made new, custom Conditions of the class Archetypes. They could have made them add to existing ones where needed. But it would avoid any side effects and interactions
One thing that stands out to me about Needle in the gods' eyes is that most feats like this state that you can make strikes against different opponents; but this one just says two strikes at any point during the leap. So if something is flying above you, you could jump up striking it, then strike it again on your way down.

My personal build, play if you want ^^ !!! is damage glass cannon based, you dual wield tridents, uses Double Slice, them Grab exemplar Archetype later and grab Noble Branch, Enjoy you damage ^^ !!! can even combine with Yaoguai or Dwarf for little bit of extra damage,
I think there's a reason to pick slashing instead of bludgeoning if you really want to go deep into the warrior of legend archetype because having a common damage type is probably more useful to activate the stance feat
I could absolutely see how infuriating for the gm this class could be in a mythic campaign lol. Also my dragoon character will LOVE the Needle in gods eye feat
Know thy doom is a pretty good feat to pick up because most groups will be playing with Free Archetype and you will be most likely picking up a Fighter feat anyway, unless there is another archetype feat that would be better for your build. Yes, it's not worth it without free archetype, but again, most groups will be using it so, pretty good.
I think only my doom may claim me is more powerful than you give it credit for. For instance if you had the bludgeoning curse and someone comes at you with a dagger that has a ton of other damage runes tied to it (flaming, holy, whatever) you would have resistance to the entire weapon's attack added up instead of just the peircing.
Needle in the Gods Eye seems completely overpowered. You are telling me I can make make two full-accuracy Strikes with my d12 weapon against the same enemy with FULL fighter accuracy? And on top of that, I can move up to my full speed in any direction, even through the air? Honestly, thats too strong. I think map should apply to the second attack, then it would be balanced.
Hey Cleric, I'm not feeling that well, could you help me? Sure what do you want me to do? Well you have plenty of healing don't you, I need to stab you to get rid of my Doomed... Okay, I guess so...
my understanding is that you can just treat them like you would treat any other archetype except that the 2nd level feat automatically replaces your class feat rather than the free archetype one (class archetypes don't restrict taking other archetypes)
@@alessandrodellanno948 I mean yeah, if your group doesnt use free archetype it will cost you atleast 1 feat to gain the class archetype so you're down 1 fighter feat but you gain access to the unique features of that archetype and it's feats. And remember, fighter is one of the best classes to make use of an archetype like this because of combat flexibility. The feature they get to temporarily gain some fighter feats they missed out on and since warrior of legend basically only uses polearms and spears they are not as keen on picking up feats for switching to a bow or shield style. Not too big of a price to pay imo.
It's pretty unfortunate that this archetype pretty much does not work if you don't play with mythic. (Well it does WORK, it's just severely weaker than just base fighter without constant flow of doomed from 'dying' to fuel your stuff) The spear feats for general fighter means that dragoon cosplayers are eating good though.
@@Lechteron depends on the damage type you pick, ironically I think bludgeoning despite being relatively rarest might be best choice because you can mitigate it with the adamantine dragonblood heritage giving you the same resistance as you get vulnerability.
So, Know Thy Doom just doesn't work in its intended use case? If you're already Dying, then you are Unconscious, and therefore cannot act. And if you cannot act, then you can't take Reactions, so you can't actually use Know Thy Doom. So the only actual use case for Know Thy Doom, RAW, is when you take damage that drops you to 0 and would give you the Dying condition, you can lower your Doomed value by one. It doesn't allow you to make a recovery check though, because you take the reaction before gaining the Dying condition, and therefore don't have a Dying value to make a Recovery check against. Was this included in the supposed errata that content creators received? Because this is brokenly bad as written
No character has ever been so easy to kill, especially at low level. You take a crit of your weakness type? Doomed 2 & extra damage, if it drops you you are now at doomed 2/dying 2, alive only by virtue of Diehard. Take damage, like from an area effect or persistent damage?... blow all your hero points or die. Take any more, or healer crit fails treat wounds? Dead.
this is meh for me. It relies on ennemies hitting you using your doom damage a lot. And sure it happens often, but i don't like spending feats on things that i will never get to use

Cu Chulainn/Dragoon builds are gonna be popping up everywhere now, but frankly, I'm here for it.
I prefer using the exemplar for Cú Chulainn. Especially the "warped by rage" feat for the "spasm of the berserker" action.

This is a neat archetype.
Though the one i'm looking forward to most is the Seneschal.
I am so exited to hear about that.

Loving these class archetypes.
Someone at Paizo really really really likes Stormlight Archive.
Isn't this more Achilles?
This is basically just martial Oracle

Did I hear Dragoon build ?
Isnt too low the one that gives temp hp? Something that gives +4 hp once every 10 minutes...
Hmmmm.... a fight is coming up, I want to be doomed, hey Cleric, could you punch me in the face please...?

@alessandrodellanno948
The only feat from the Archetype you have to select is the Dedication, all the others are selectable with fighter feats.
