    The secret to making a computer work using one's and zeros is to squish the rocks really flat and fill them with lightning.

      nah it’s all about the layers of abstraction above those rocks

      😉The _real_ trick is making the squished rocks and lightning act like plumbing valves.

    Essentially, it’s all really really tiny logic gates, more gates more bits of storage, the more places to hold a 0-1 Adds more complexity to the functions it can perform. Quantum or Q bits have a wider range in each placeholder than just a binary on/off 0-1. Q-bits have more than 2 states of being so can hold more variance in values

    In the state I was a cashier in they would give you a bonus for selling the winning ticket. All kind of tickets apply when it's a prize over a certain value. A co-worker got a nice chunk when they sold a instant ticket jackpot of 500,000

    the 'motor' decides in which direction the electrons go. a battery as a 'motor' moves the electrons in just one direction -> DC. on the minus side are many electrons, on the plus side there are just a few. If you connect both ends with a conductive enough material, the electrons try to spread out equally between both points. that means, electrons rush from the minus side to plus. voilà Direct Current
    AC happens, when your motor is a spinning magnet next to a conductive material. the electric feld of the spinning magnet pushes the electrons back and forth in the conductor -> AC.
    ... i lost motivation to explain AC intuitively lol. also, strong simplification. its mostly about the mental model of how the electrons move

    It depends on the context in wich you recieved the ticket. Like, you get a ticket for Christmas, you can give as little as you want, they gave you a damn scratch card for Christmas. If your mate just bought it for fun or smth, I feel like a 5% would be fair

    Bro, give me one day and I will get you to understand how the transistors in a CPU process the ones and zeros to do useful work.
    I was blown away when I learned that it's fundamentally just elementary school math und basic logic.
    (Atleast if we ignore the complex physics involved in the production process and the complexity in optimizations like multi tiered memory)

    If you wanna think about bored people in ww2, in the uk, dissing the blitz, as hell rained down on London night after night. There were little Welsh farming communities with refugee children from London, teaching them about food and animals and whatever, barely listening the the wireless, being updated on the war every now and then. Being a few dirty kids who didn’t know what a cow was, most of the war just sort slid on by

    If someone drives really fast, and you try to decide if it is a maniac or a person having an emergency, you just look at what douche-level the car is at. No person with a sports car and spoilers rushes their wife to the hospital.

    I would be ecstatic if I brought my friend a lottery ticket and they gave me $7 mil even if it's only 1% of what they got.

  • @MajorasWrath1
    @MajorasWrath1 7 месяцев назад

    If i won a lottery big enough, I'd put it in the bank and live off the interest and try to help as many family and friends i could. A single even million dollars yields a decent salary in high yield savings, for example. Idk what else is involved but i googled it and the highest rate is like 4.5%, so $45k a year off $1m.
    I think with every subsequent million of lottery winning i could help out two more people. Even if it means living in the center of iowa or Arkansas for a few years first.
