This is why I love Skillet. In retrospect, this song is obviously about God. But when I first listened to the lyrics, I assumed it was a love song. Their music is clearly inspired by their beliefs, but unlike a lot of religious bands they don't cram it down your throat, and in a lot of their other songs they discuss the feelings and thoughts brought on by actual problems that hit close to home and can comfort you, rather than trying to make you feel bad.
I couldn't have said that better. Another reason why I love Skillet is because people who don't believe in God or are angry at God can still listen to it without feeling uncomfortable and have a positive influence. When I was angry at God, I refused to listen to any Christian music except Skillet, and they provided as a positive influence for me.

I always said, a lot of Christian rock bands try too hard to be cool and just end up alienating people. Skillet doesn't have to TRY to be cool, they just ARE cool!

One of the reasons I love Skillet so much is because they aren't just a rock band or metal or whatever it is, they have christian songs. I love them so much. This is one of my favorite christian songs they have. They show that they believe in God. They don't care about what people think. They can sing songs about God or whatever and the people that are saying things like, " They are a horrible band because they think that they can sing songs like this and then sing songs like Monster and things like that." I haven't heard of anyone saying things like that because Skillet is such a good band. I personally think that this song is very emotional. Christian or not it is a very beautiful song. Love it!!!!!!
I listened to Monster and even as a Christian I can relate to it. After all Christians are humans too. It just happens to bring to the forefront the ugly part of our humanity that we cannot face, especially Christians. It is something I can appreciate them for because I can identify with those times I feel like that.

I love skillet they are one of my favorite bands that talk about how hard it is to be a Christian and how is as humans need God's favor and forgiveness for all the empty promises we make and can't fulfill
Songs like this are why I love Skillet so much. I've only been a fan of theirs since 2011 or so, but they're much better than most "secular" rock bands. They make their stand, and let the chips fall without apology.

I hate being one of those people who spam the comments with religion but..Skillet is a christian band, this is definitely a song about God.
Yes, the "unfaithful" part could be as him cheating, the "all the times you were denied" could be the girl being heartbroken so many times, etc etc.. but we all know this is a song about God. Why else would they so blatantly make it obvious?
i think unfaithful simply means the writer of the song lost faith in God or didn't completely trust in him all the way

Then there is the relationship way where he is in a special place they shared when they first met or while they were dating (can be interpreted by the scenario of the person listening) Alone in your embrace, thinking about being with the significant other, where all my wrongs have been erased they are alone daydreaming or imagining themselves in their own world in which the other person has forgiven them and there are still other ways to interpret it that we havent even thought of (i know you arent saying this song is only interpretable by in the biblical sense but i felt the need to point out the "all my wrongs have been erased refers to more than god" depending on how you look at it

Great song. Luv Skillet. Another great Christian Rock band is the "DISCIPLES". Hope I spelled that right. U don't have to be a Christian to enjoy this music. They sort of sound like Alternative Rock bands (Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, Seether)

I can't hear this song and think it is about that. It's talking to me like it is my story and I don't believe in god. I'm related to this song because of the story I find in. Story of a broken and painful heart, a heart who is lost itself in love, thinking about two persons, loving two persons and who's trying to just find itself again.
