I just tried this yarn and OMG I went back to buy more. It was so easy to use and for a beginner it looks so good. I love watching your videos and seeing all the cute things you make. You have inspired me to make new patterns that other people have not for example the hedgehog and walrus.

Story time: It just so happens that last night I was at the Joanns that is 40 minutes from my house...I went with my Christmas gift cards excited to get some bernat blanket frosting and the pink and white big twist plush(never have it at my local Joanns). I filled my cart with everything I went for and on my way to the registers noticed Posh! I instantly returned everything I went for to the shelves and loaded up on every color they had in stock! I was sooo excited and now after watching ur video I am even more excited!! Guess what my birthday is 1week away and guess what my request will be...more Joanns gift cards to buy more Big Twist Posh! The only color I could not find was the light pink...hopefully next time! Thanks for the update on this yarn! I just started hearing about it in the fb groups the past few days but no one had tried it yet. I did notice from photos, it wasn't the shiny type like Chunky Parfait. I do have a love/hate relationship with Chunky Parfait. Love the look, hate how temperamental it is. I do want to try the Estako Velvet yarn you mentioned in your last video. I found it straight from the company. 26 colors. $4.49 each. Delivered in 3-5 business days from turkey. The only drawback is the shipping $16-$22. It's worth it if you are buying a bunch. Thanks again for all your yarn reviews! I love how you made an octo with each yarn. I had just received an order from Premier when I saw your video. It may be a bit before I order it but I definitely want to try it. Some colors on the chunky parfait were awful and some were great. It drives me crazy. It would be amazing to buy a brand that was consistent.@@YarnandWhimsyDesigns

I usually use bernat blanket yarn or big twist plush. I love the new big twist posh yarn! I will definitely use it for my crochet class I'm teaching soon!

Hi Karen, Just purchased some of the Posh yarn and the only one I could not get was the lighter green which I really wanted.... oh well... Anyway, I love it!! It doesn't shed like parfait chunky, if you make a mistake it doesn't deteriorate if you frog it out. I hope they keep adding to their colors but what they already have are beautiful and vibrant. Big Twist really came up with a winner! Better price, larger skein and easier to work with, you can't lose with this yarn. They better mass produce it because everyone that has done a review on it seems to love it... On a side note, do you mind sharing what pattern you use for your octo's they are adorable!!!

I just placed an order for colors to make bees. I was so tempted to order all the colors, but I used some self control. If I had seen your review before I ordered I probably would have had no self control. I love the stitch definition. Thank you.

I’m sooo glad you reviewed this yarn. I just found out about it and another crocheter said it was much thinner in person/didn’t compare.
When I saw it in store, I thought the same thing. It looks a lot thinner on the skein! But when I worked with it, I was surprised at how well it worked up! I think it’s the structure of the yarn, it doesn’t compress as much as a parfait chunky type yarn when you work with it. I really hope it works for you too! Let me know!

I only had a few colors at my work (I work at joann's). We only had white, black, and I think the light purple color. Some lady bought ALL of what we had, but I did get to feel it before it was all gone.

@@YarnandWhimsyDesigns I just made a mini Axolotl tonight and I am in love. I used a 5mm hook and it is a breeze to work with. I may like it better than parfait chunky. The color palette, though limited, is so bright and vivid. It has the plus of no shedding but the softness and bright colors that I like from parfait.

It looked thinner to me too! I was super skeptical. But it seems to more dense than other yarns, so it doesn’t compress much when you work with it. I’m pretty sure that’s why it works up so similar to parfait chunky. Does that even make sense?!? 😂😂😂

OMG. So sad. It is SO hard to get Parfait Chunky & now the Big Twist Posh has been discontinued??? I read somewhere that someone said it would be re-stocked later in the Spring, but I've read a lot more comments that it is discontinued. I am so sad. I need an alternative!

Those colors are awesome. I'm trying to learn amigurumi and it's slow going for me. So a 5.5 hook with the big twist posh is good? I struggle with hand/arm issues and making things with tiny hooks is out for me! I see that you don't have any tutorials. That's ok...I've been searching for super simple and so many assume I know more about crochet than I do! lol. Thank you and thanks for sharing....I've liked and sub'd your channel.
That's so interesting. I've only made amigurumi with medium weight yarn (3.5mm hook). My cousin asked me to make him a amigurumi anime plush so I'm I'm researching yarn. I only used chunky yarn once (for edging) & it was hard to see the stitches so this will be a learning curve for me.

How does this yarn compare with Bernat Blanket or Bernat Baby Blanket? (Could never seem to catch Parfait Chunky in stock so I have only been using the Bernat for plushies.)
I think it’s a little easier to use than Bernat blanket!

Karen, have you tried the premier Basix Chenille brights? The hybrid you mentioned at the end of the video makes me think it would be the same as the basix chenille
I have! I like it, it’s a lot fuzzier than this yarn, but that’s part of its charm I think!
I wouldn't consider it a "dupe". Similar, but i think its closer to a blanket yarn than a true chenille. (That being said, Posh is WAY easier to use than Parfait Chunky.)
