What a dream to remove/reduce the submandibular glands! If you just reduce the gland without removing all of it will the rest of the gland still work to produce saliva? Otherwise there is no point of leave some of it alone no?
Yes normally I remove the superficial lobe and the deep lobe remains and can still produce saliva. Another reason to leave the deep lobe alone is that it normally doesn't cause external bulging, and removing the deep lobe has more risks of complications.
