I'm having Pain on my left submandibular gland. I Got A Ct Scan told me it can be a tumor or block saliva gland with mucus. I'm seeing the ENT soon. Then getting a MRI hopefully everything turns out okay. Thank you for this video

I'm getting mine removed and scared! I had a saliva stone that was 1cm two years ago and got another one 6 months after the first was removed. I went to my ENT yesterday and they said surgery and explained everything to me. They aren't cutting under my jawline they are cutting down by my neck. My doctor kept saying if they make a mistake they will try their best to fix it or they will pay for therapy, he told me this a few times. I'm not looking forward to this surgery!

how did the surgery go? I'm terrified of "facial paralysis" which the Dr. I went to here in Atlanta said is about a "2 in 100 chance". Which I guess he thought sounded good but I was horrified that he basically just told me 1 in 50 people will have. their face paralyzed!😳 Am I just scaring myself or is this a significant risk? I'm a 37 y.o. male with good fitness

ATLWood13 I never heard about facial paralysis to be a risk of this surgery, you just might get some weakness in one corner of your lower lip, unfortunately that has happened to me but it’s not clearly affecting my smile , the doctor said this might last from 3 to 18 months

@@ahmadalali1574 thank you for the update man! I'm really stressed about this but I cant continue living with the stones and infections in my submandibular gland either! Its horrible😔. So overall you would say it's worth it to have the surgery and just remove the gland?

ATLWood13 it absolutely worth it , just make sure you do it with a maxillofacial surgeon, every thing will be ok

Hello Doc. Thank you for the video. Do you use nerve monitoring during these procedures? If so, where do you place your electrodes/needles?

Hello , besides injury to nerves ...what's the worst scenario for a gland excision .
I've noticed a gland on the left side of my next , it been there for about 4 months and 2 weeks . I'm very concerned ,been to several doctors and the response is to have it biopsied. ...
What about alternative medicine of treatment?

My submandibular gland is swollen and not painful..its been a small swelling for more than 20yrs...recently it has grown to be so big. I'm planning to see a doctor by end of the year for surgery. Will my speech be affected after the surgery ? I'm very worried !!
