  • Tennis great Novak Djokovic was struggling with his health and at a low point in his career when Dr. Igor Cetojevic saw him playing in the 2010 Australian Open. Cetojevic reached out to Djokovic’s parents and offered to work with the athlete. Djokovic was introduced to biofeedback and quantum physics. They adjusted his diet, removing gluten, sugar and dairy. Djokovic said he felt immediate relief. Plus, Djokovic talks about his strict, clean diet.

      Yup. People get so defensive about the notion of veganism, but more and more medical research studies are confirming the nutritional benefits of eliminating meat and dairy. It makes perfect sense if we bother to think objectively. Humans are primates. We are physiologically suited to eating fruit and vegetables, just like our closest relatives, the great apes. We don't possess a single trait of a natural meat eater -- fangs, claws, highly acidic stomach acids, protruding mouths, etc. Children are naturally drawn to colorful objects and sweet flavors (i.e. fruit). If we were natural meat-eaters, when a toddler saw a cockroach, mouse or kitten, his/her instinct would be to jump on it and try to bite it.

      He's not doing it on a humanitarian basis, though. It's just what's right for him and his body. I can certainly understand that a high-performance athlete needs more carbs than they would protein, as the body does expend energy breaking down protein, but if you give those carbs to the average person, they're probably going to gain weight, get hungry quicker, it may not be right for them.

    • @jibjubby
      @jibjubby Год назад +4

      @@randomfullywonderful You don't put on weight unless you eat an excess of calories. Carbs are much less calorically dense so it's harder to eat more of them than you need. Plant based foods also have more fiber and water in them which fills you up. It's very difficult to put on weight only eating plants unless you eat mostly processed food (oils, sugars etc.)
      Most of the energy from meat comes from fats, meaning it's much easier to eat more calories than you need. It also contains extremely high amounts of the worst kinds of fat, saturated fat and cholesterol. This is what makes the biggest difference for Djok's performance. Saturated fat restricts blood flow immediately upon entering the bloodstream, impeding athletic performance for hours after a single meal. Cholesterol, on the other hand, takes year to build up in your bloodstream, but eventually can cause atherosclerosis. Most children have fatty streaks in their arteries, the first visible symptom of atherosclerosis, by the age of ten. This is the largest cause of death in the western world. It's not just athletes that would benefit from cutting these out of their diet.
      Also, you don't have to trade protein for carbs. There are plenty of high-protein plant foods. Tofu (not a processed food, just soybeans and water) has 10g of protein per 100kcal. Chicken has 11g per 100kcal. Tofu also has more Iron, Calcium, Selenium and Zinc per calorie than beef. (these vitamins are the main vitamins often advertised as reasons to eat red meat)

      Being rich has nothing to do with that. It has to do with discipline and consciousness. It resulted ultimately in his success because the way he shaped his career was thoughtful and calculated on many levels (personal with his family life, nutritional with his plant based diet, mind and spirit by meditation, and talent by raw training). He understood that, to become a champion, you have to shape your own personality style and way to do things. Novak is more phony than Roger & Rafa, controversial at times, he stood up to a cause and defied the whole system to make himself and others heard, something that probably nobody did in such way in the history of the ATP, and he will certainly surpass (not all but most) of RF & RN records. @@Mcbaby12345 I never felt this good in my entire life, good and healthy! And that's all that matters really, as opposed to being literally constantly sick back when I was still carnivore.

      @@Mcbaby12345 I checked it out and one with the brain, if one has it, would never mix mental and eating disorders with veganism. Eating herbivorous diet means eating more and versatile, not eating less. You should check your IQ.

      @@alexvidakovic I cannot really see why you got so triggered. You said you were a "carnivore" that means that most of your nutrition comes from animals. 95% of the world population is plant based, seeing that most of their calories comes from grains and suger and not meat or animal fat. So you most likely ate a standard slave diet and has never tried a carnivorous diet. I cured all my health issues by eating a raw carnivore diet, before I tried all sorts of vegan diets and I only got sicker and my skin got worse, my sexlust were down, I was more feminine and I was always bloated. Maybe the diet works for you, but I would suggest that you try a strict carnivorous diet for some weeks just to see if there is any difference, if not then maybe the vegan diet is for you. Take care

      @@Mcbaby12345 I was not triggered I was merely pointing delusions you're having. I haven't eaten meat, dairy or anything related to the animals in more than 10 years. Carnivores eat raw meat, some humans do too, but they're sick and look weird, stink also too much. The source of my acne was animal fat, I had my skin pores clogged with fat. Now my skin is looking younger than ever and is completely clear of all issues, which is kinda expected, I mean, once you get rid of animal fat, health issues that were triggered by it will gradually go away, but it takes some time, it's not an immediate solution as liver is fatty too and arteries are in bad shape also, along with heart and brain. The reason why you do not understand such simple facts is because your brain is clogged with animal fat too, so it doesn't function properly.

    Gotta admit that Graham Bensinger is a much better and a more natural interviewer as compared to many of the world renowned interviewers out there who are typically rude, disrespectful, out of bounds and insensitive. All the best for you, Graham and may you get more opportunities to interview many more such greats such as Novak ❤.

      @@artygunnar You are so wrong. Long-term dairy and meat diet led us to heart diseases and other health issues, It's not normal that people have chronic health problems when they cross 50. You need to be more open-minded. A vegan diet does not always mean a healthy diet by default also, you need to be well informed.

    Wow, I'm very delighted to hear that Novak eats millets. They are truly a very healthy grain with immense healing capabilities. It does not happen overnight, but when consumed for 1 year straight millets heal numerous kinds of aliments - slowly and naturally. Most importantly in order to consume millets one must eliminate processed sugar like Novak, otherwise millets won't be beneficial to the body.

    I’m going to try this by eating more fruits and vegetables and less junk food overall. I have been very active in my life, but the thing that has set me back is my diet, where I’d eat all sorts of sugary products and things that didn’t contribute positively to my health. So I’m going to start eating healthier while also exercising to keep myself healthy.
