I would boil longer and the pulp can be used for jam, if you can handle the seeds. Putting a little table or chair (something that can handle heat) in front of the oven to catch the juice helps. If the pan is left alone for a while more juice will come out. I bought mine 20+ years ago and can 1/2 gallons of juice every year. Another hint: Add a tablespoon of vinegar to the water and there will be less calcium build up.
If want to grow Backberries go back to the Bush and cut some branches off and get some hormone at the garden shop and dip the cutting part into the hormone and put in the ground. It has always worked for me.
Freedom Acres has a video about steaming a chicken & vegetables in the steamer/juicer. It came out really moist & falling off the bone. She didn’t show it but I bet she got some nice chicken broth in the reservoir. Another use for it other than juicing. Love & Hugs from Vicki in Ft. Worth, Texas 🇨🇱🇺🇸
Yes! You will love this steamer! My daughter and I both have one....and we dumped our pulp from elderberries ...from my sister's farm....and we both now have elderberry bushes! When we do apples...we save the pulp...run it thru our squeezo...and make apple butter. We use cheesecloth in the top...for blackberries and raspberries. We set a big kettle on the open oven door...to drain into ....and dump the bottom kettle after it cools.
I think in the future after it finishes boiling maybe have Kevin carry the tope two tiers to the counter by the sink and put the measuring cup or whatever in the sink so you don’t have to hold it and risk burning yourself. You may be already doing this since I am 3 years late watching. I am so glad you did this video because after your jam video I did look this product up and it’s nice to know how well it works, definitely worth the investment! I love your videos showing how you preserve your crop yields. You guys are an inspiration.
Love blackberry jelly and the extractor is cool. But, gotta say, the Cowpokes shirt was funny. Better than a Boomer Sooners shirt though. My Mountaineers have y'all in Morgantown this year and owe a woodshed whoopin'. Lol. Let's go Mountaineers!!
sarah at living traditions got one of these she only had a little bit of stuff so she had trouble getting out the last bits juice was good, good luck hugssss from Ontario Canada
Made jelly making easier. A little pricey. But if you make a lot jelly it worth it. I remembered how messy cheesecloth was. Thank you for sharing and God bless.
Living Traditions Homestead also reviewed this product, and Sarah was impressed with it, too!! I figure if you both endorse it, it must work!! Way to go!!
Excellent review. You guys really should check into a Amazon Store for yourself. Things like this would be a great sideline. Your neighbor from Claremore Jimmy
So cool! Living Traditions Homestead recently used that same product and had good results too. Just an idea for you: They froze their pulp for use in smoothies and ice cream. Blackberry pulp may or may not work for that because of the seeds, but other fruits you use for jelly might be great for smoothies or ice cream.
Folks, I know that most juicers made today are less than efficient. The one we had was comprised of stainless steel basket which was perforated to let the juice out, as well as a plate that had a surface that was roughed up industrially. The plate spins on the motor shaft, there is a tray shaped much like your juice collector piece. The berries are fed into the machine from the top, and the seeds were literally spun dry (almost). The output was significant. The machine was pretty big and powerful, and I think the sales price on it 30 years ago was somewhere in the neighborhood of $300. The best part about this machine is that you don't have to handle anything that's hot until you start cooking your jelly/jam! I'm not even sure this machine is made today. Suffice it to say, I'll hang onto mine! lol! I'm glad you got something that works for you.
Wow. I am so impressed. You did a wonderful job explaining this process. I am such a tightwad, I probably would never have bought one of those and just continued with the cheesecloth method, but see the real benefits of using this steamer. Thank you for this very informative video.
That's awesome you guys found a juicing method you really like :) I'd definitely still filter any juice you make with that cause like you said the colander's holes weren't small enough to filter everything out. If you use fresh fruit juice in a lot of things I can see this being a nice investment :) Thanks for the review Rachel!
Rachel, I love the juice extractor, and have Kevin plant some grapes and strawberries well add more. Plant some rhubarb so y’all can make strawberry and rhubarb pie. Rhubarb is perennial. So will you make pie with the pulp?
Great question, I was going to ask the same thing what was they going to do with all of that pulp. If you would put it on top of ice cream or whatever but I think the Fruit Roll-Up idea is great.
Thanks for the Juice Extracting Vlog it seems so much easier with less waste - I just had a thought to add the pulp to smoothies and you would get the extra fibre 😉 🐨🦘🐨🦘
The cost isn’t bad for something you can use over and over for years especially if it’s more efficient .. you probably will be making lots of jams and jellies with it over the years so it’s a good investment..
I bought a squeezo strainer , they make canning a lot easier and the berry screen keeps 99% of seeds out and the tomato screen will be your best friend if you make your tomato products . Check them out
That couldn't have worked out any better! Be sure and watch that tube tho, it looked a bit crimped there near the spout! Maybe order another tube to have on hand just in case that one developes a crack.
Would your logo put on a large canvas bag that can be used for carrying home groceries produce more sales for you?Stores in our area are not doing plastic bags any longer and the paper bags are very flimsy.
It is very quick and easy way to get juice but and I don't want to be a downer but with all the steaming I have to wonder about the nutritional value of the juices from the steaming, heat will destroy valuable nutrition so I think if you could find a stainless steel gadget that will compress the fruit and collect the juice with out adding any form of heat would be more beneficial to your family.
Ask any guy tools cost a bunch but it’s a one time expense. I don’t think you’re going to get vines because you cooked the seeds. Give it to the chickens and get great eggs. Lol
will that not destroy the nutrients in the fruits. if you cook the fruits you will get no nutrients to be honest with you. thanks for the entertainment.
Hello, Granny is back peeking.
I told u would love it they been around in Germany for decades
Don't ya just love when something actually makes things easier ? ! I'm so pleased for you. God bless !
Hey! Kevin &Rachel &Family!
Those blackberries are beautiful 🤤🤤... have a wonderful day!

Maybe you could try putting the berries in cheesecloth before boiling in the extractor and you might have fewer seeds in the juice.
Yep one of these are in my near future for sure
Wow! That's definitely going on my homesteading wish list. Thanks for the great video.
That stainless steel juicer is a very nice setup and worked really well. Enjoyed the video.
Another awesome video. You always have great 😘 video 👌. I love all your videos 😍 Thanks for sharing.
Have a blessed weekend 🙏😇 ❣️
Awesome video Rachel, thankyou. Your videos on making jellies, and deserts, and canning and such are very much appreciated...
sarah at living traditions got one of these she only had a little bit of stuff so she had trouble getting out the last bits juice was good, good luck hugssss from Ontario Canada
I am pleased it work for you - looking like a good return on juice
I thought the juicer would have been good learned something new thanks good job 👍🏻
That really did a great job.Worth every penny. Not to mention,it makes it easy for you from the way you were doing it BEFORE.Great purchase guys 😁👍
Thank's learned! Something New !
Well done Rachel. That would be great to steam vegetables and such by taking out the middle section. Your camera guy was excellent 😉
Maybe try a large paper coffee filter in bottom of the berry container to strain some of the seeds so you may be able to avoid that step.
Great idea
The easiest way is to get it from you lol as always thank you for sharing your family and be safe on the interstate

Living Traditions Homestead also reviewed this product, and Sarah was impressed with it, too!! I figure if you both endorse it, it must work!! Way to go!!
I saw that video too. If I remember correctly, Sarah kept the pulp to use for something else later too.
Excellent review. You guys really should check into a Amazon Store for yourself. Things like this would be a great sideline.

Wow I’m very impressed with this juice extractor. Seems very worth the investment. 😁❤️ Cheryl
I sometimes use a strainer on top of the jug to catch any smaller seeds. I love my steamer.❤
Thank you for showing this to us.
Good demonstration. Thank you

That looks like it did a good job. Thanks for sharing eh :) hope you show the end result
Just a thought...Could you possibly use the leftover pulp to make a homemade fruit rollup (fruit leather)? Nice little treat for the kids!
Great question, I was going to ask the same thing what was they going to do with all of that pulp. If you would put it on top of ice cream or whatever but I think the Fruit Roll-Up idea is great.
Put marbles in the water section, if they rumble you will know to add water.

Another good investment.
👍
Looks very good it’s close to making moonshine with all the steaming......

Great job 👍💕
Wow i am impressed with that i enjoyed this vidio u made it seem effortless
Can u keep me in your prayers a about to ha e second knee replacement this year thank.u

Great video Rachael, I really enjoyed watching. Have a Blessed Week **HUGS & PRAYERS** from Kelly and critters at Piney Haven Homestead.
Straight from the patch. Boom!
So delicious!
That's a nice juice extractor👍🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

make fruit leather out of the stuff on top......... you could have done some jars and can it as juice then you could have fresh juice in the winter
I love your cooking videos
a good juicer will leave the pulp nearly dry
Yummy yum
Hello my friends
does it get out blueberry seeds, let me know
Ask any guy tools cost a bunch but it’s a one time expense. I don’t think you’re going to get vines because you cooked the seeds. Give it to the chickens and get great eggs. Lol
do you make a sugar free jam/ jelly?
Do they sell a smaller version of that for smaller batches?
I didn't see one.
If you’ll let your juice out as you go you won’t have seeds . I’ve used this juicer for several years and not ever had seeds
👍👍👍😎
Looks like a lot more trouble to me
will that not destroy the nutrients in the fruits. if you cook the fruits you will get no nutrients to be honest with you. thanks for the entertainment.
