Actually I do not leave my experience with a review product, but for this one I had to. Imagine you let choose any card to your spectator, put it in the wallet and in the middle of the table, before the trick even begin, you had in the envelope the same card the spectator choose. The deck can be inspected, even shuffled by the spectator and he can select the card he wants. You don’t touch the card ever. This is just one of the features I came on my own. Card to wallet of course, 5 different peeks explained. I don’t know if this is the best wallet of all time, but if you have a tool where you can perform 4 different magic moments that hit hard, well this is a lot of value you get
Finally got my Orphic+, I've been looking to replace my well worn RMW for a while and wanted to get something that also had a peak. Boy does this thing deliver. I've reworked my presentation of Close's Invisible Deck routine and it now kills even harder. Having a single spectator write down their thought of card and in not being revealed until AFTER the card is shown reversed in the deck really puts an extra punch in the routine. I'm sure I'm not the first person to think of it but in case, dear reader, you haven't thought of using a peak for this sort of routine.....do it.

Great review David. I got my Optic+ yesterday. It’s just as advertised - good craftsmanship and quality a ton of excellent routines for both the mentalist and magician. My only nit is that it doesn’t close flat once the inner and outer slots are loaded with EDC items like money, credit cards and billets. Depending on how you lay the wallet down there may be a gap that you don’t want . I noticed that the video shows routines with very little or no items in the exterior pockets. Also, one must be thoughtful about the “look” of items that are loaded in the exterior pockets if you intend to use the himber feature. I’m sure I’ll find a way to make this work for me as it has so much potential. No buyers remorse at this time.
@@magicorthodoxy I was just about to say the same thing. Having something inside just in the center pushed against the spine then clamped to add pressure could help the leather relax enough and stretch. Also some leather lotion along the spine inside and out could also assist with this.
Got the plus delivered yesterday it’s absolutely fantastic, dare I say this might genuinely be the last wallet I buy? >.< probably not but definitely don’t need another for my uses
Brilliant review as always. I might spring for this wallet. I'm not surprised that Craig Petty's videos are the longest. He does like to hear himself talk. I don't mind. He's very thorough ususally but maybe a bit longwinded. Plus he always wears the same shirts as I do.

I have started a collection of magic wallets some I like a lot and some that are in a drawer, but if I decide to purchase this wallet I will buy the plus. I am not into magic wallets because I usually can’t carry them as an EDC. I’ve purchased some wallets in the past and haven’t used them very long after purchase. This is the first magic wallet that has caught my attention in about 15 years. I pre-ordered both. Yes, both. I don’t do card to wallet, but I intend to use it with some of the Eclipse cards, which are standard sized cards. So I ordered the plus just to make sure I had the room if I needed it. But I then decided to order the standard, as well, because I would prefer a smaller wallet in some specific cases…so I pre-ordered one of each and will switch out according to my needs. I went from not being interested in magic wallets at all, to being very excited about this one. I’ve already got a bunch of ideas. That double-window feature for the peek and the Himber-like switch are what sold me on this wallet. Great review, as always. Very excited. Can’t wait for my wallet(s) to arrive. It’s like the anticipation of waiting for Christmas as a kid.
Update: After working with both the slimmer, smaller version and the ‘plus’, I prefer the Orphic+. And since I don’t use it as my EDC wallet,I’ve bought a second Orphic+ and have it in the car, guaranteeing I always have one handy if I happen to leave the house without one. I do mentalism routines with ESP cards and I use the wallet to carry a set of those cards and some business cards, (used as billets), from which I require a quick, easy, unnoticeable peek. I will say that they have made a slight change to how they make the wallet now, (I’m writing this on 18 July 2023). The original wallet was all leather. The second one I bought, (which was just a few months ago), is leather, but is felt-lined on the inside, (like, only along that far inside surface area, where it folds and that lies beneath anything places in the window slot or the ‘bottom’ pocket/slot). Don’t know if this is to make things slide out of that bottom ‘pocket’ better, was done to cut costs, or if they have a new manufacturer and that’s the only option they had. But just know they look a little different on that part of the inside now. It doesn’t negatively or positively affect the look or working of the wallet at all. Though I do have concerns about wear over time. Opening and closing the wallet, removing and placing things in the ‘pocket’/‘slot’, will wear through felt pretty quick, but not leather. The newer one I bought - that gets use, but less so than the original - is already showing very minor signs of wear; so I worry about what it will look like in a year or two. (And in case anyone is wondering, I bought it from a well-known, reputable magic shop who got their Orphic wallet stock from Murphy’s and is where I bought the original from; so, no, the new one is not a ‘knock-off’.) I think the way the peek window is designed to work is brilliant. Simple to use and so clever. Still my favorite magic ‘peek’ wallet. I’m not interested in any other. (So if that redesigned part that is now felt-covered wears through and looks bad or affects the way I use the wallet, I’ll just buy another one.)
As far as i am concern peek devices are not really usefull if you palm it right and if you got the right methods...it's just a plus..;-) I've bougth several wallets.But My best one is : The one from Luc Langevin devez magicien avec Luc Langevin 3 Himber wallet. (2015)

"Can it be inspected?" is just about the last concern you should have about a wallet. At least a wallet that you can present as "your wallet". I have handed my card to wallet wallet to spectator after spectator over the years, and I have never had anyone do anything more than hold it. If it looks like a wallet and you have it loaded like a wallet then people are no more going to go through your wallet than they would your pockets.
Hey David if you had to chose one or the 3 for a live show on the street or a one on one performance which one would you chosen. Razor wallet this. Or into wallet. I personally use into wallet alot more. Here's something I've done with into wallet. I made my own privacy screen which was a little smaller and popped it in the front I'd window of the wallet. That way a spectator can freely put there bullet in the wallet 2nd slot or folded card slot. Either is fine. (I have stuff in there so they can really only chose the empty slot ) but this works beautifully. But yes which wallet would you chose for a one on one or street performance ?
i have both the Hermes and the Orphic. i will say in terms of leather quality Hermes by Quiver is in its own league! it really is true that the Quiver company is the ROLEX of magic leather goods! the leather is seriously luxury status, it feels like nappa leather! Now onto Orphic. I ordered the Regular one and when i first received the wallet it did not want to stay closed. Overtime however that has improved. Stitching is very well done and the leather is real as mentioned just not as good as Hermes by Quiver. I was literally able to stuff an entire deck of 52 cards dividing the cards into each pocket so that i could help stretch the leather more. I was able to get a card into the loading pocket but not at first. the rest of the pockets out of the box will fit playing cards. Even though i said Hermes quality was better i prefer Orphic due to the nature of the deceptive peak and can hold more stuff! You get an actual himber style switch unlike the transformer gimmick. Both can do No palm card to wallet. If you are on the fence the only thing you gotta ask yourself is do you really utilize the out to lunch principle? As that's the only difference the orphic doesn't have. All in all i love both wallets, but if i had to choose only one it would be Orphic due to the versatility! If only it was made exactly the same but by Quiver with their leather quality. omg that would make this wallet truly the king of the hill!
@@MysTicBiGz i know the power of nail writing is great, but i would never use my wallet to do such thing. i have done the classic approach of "writing something down" on the card and then after putting the pen down and with the card still in my hand nail write in front of spec. people don't know these kind of things exist anyways and i like being bold in my performances whenever possible. in the tutorial for the Hermes there's a breif discussion on being able to use nail writing with the wallet but this is not mentioned on orphic.
I had to have this wallet the first time I saw it, and finally, I have ordered orphic+ and can't wait to get my hands on it! Just one concern and question : how is the fact that you're using a wallet in a mentalism routine justified? In a card routine you can just perform CTW in the mid of your routine and the use of the wallet is pretty much justified, but in case of mentalism, putting the card or billet that contains information back into the wallet still seems a bit awkward to me. Does the lecture address these concerns?

Really useful review. I'm curious to know whether the peek for the orphic is fundamentally different than the peek for the Shadow Wallet (I have one of these and I'm v happy with it) or are the peeks essentially the same?
To me the inclusion of a himber is the most interesting thing about this. I'm no wallet expert but I don't know of another wallet with ctw, peek, and himber, all in a modern looking wallet. Apparently the ctw has some interesting features too, but I don't own it so I'm not sure exactly.

Mentalist that have no plan of doing a poker sized card to wallet. You can still easily do a business card to wallet with smaller Orphic. Just not a poker sized card to wallet. So a mentalist that prefers a slimmer wallet will want Orphic standard size. You can still use peek and switch with slimmer wallet and business card to wallet is no problem.
Would you recommend buying orphic wallet than stealth assassin? got limited funds so i'm trying to really sort what is the best choice possible :( Thank you! Your videos really helps.
Shadow doesn't have card to wallet - and has a thought of card to wallet (with a force) and Orphic has a card to wallet - pick the one that has the feature you want most
your reviews are not as good anymore. you just described mainly what it does but i remember earlier reviews you actually showed gimmicks, wallets inside out and mechanics. there is nothign to copy for a laymen. but seeing a himbeer mechanic or in general more insight is far more helpful.
Hi David, love your content, must ask you a question because I can not find an answer to it, I want to buy the wallet The problem is I bought the Hermes already Should come to me soon, in addition to that I always wanted to buy the wallet of Peter Nardi the Stealth assassin wallet, I realized it is good for mentalism (best according to many reviews). My problem starts whether to buy the Orphic or buy the Orphic plus because I'm also very good With cards it's my specialty, its an obsession you could say, my thought is whether to bring Lewis' wallet while I have Nardi's wallet. And the Hermes that is due to arrive soon, should i use Hermes as the card to wallet? and get the regular orphic for mentalism only ? +the stealth assassin or should I give up on one of those.? [My mom thinks I'm crazy that I'm buying 3 wallets] What I mean is that I need your **opinion** on the subject. As one who has much more knowledge than me, in the field and you have the wallets of course .. which is better? Buy them all and decide for myself? Buy the regular or the plus? i don't want to miss anything. in the last 2 year I've been started take mentalism more seriously because its more for grown people and I'm 28yo. when I was young i loved magic with other props. but I've been attracted to Mentalism as I've grown up. Well, the Shadow peek in on the Outside of the Wallet and the Orphic is on the inside

Question though: how does it compare to the venerable Stealth Assassin (which has been my EDC for around two years now)?
I still love my SA and am constantly returning to it time and time again after all these other new wallets come and go
To me the inclusion of a himber is the most interesting thing about this. I'm no wallet expert but I don't know of another wallet with ctw, peek, and himber, all in a modern looking wallet. Apparently the ctw has some interesting features too, but I don't own it so I'm not sure exactly.

If you want to palm and load a full sized poker card - you need the plus

I use the QUIVER as my EDC, but only because it has more pockets. I'm an old man and I carry a lot of junk in my wallet
Who is the standard Orphic Wallet best for?
Mentalist that have no plan of doing a poker sized card to wallet. You can still easily do a business card to wallet with smaller Orphic. Just not a poker sized card to wallet. So a mentalist that prefers a slimmer wallet will want Orphic standard size. You can still use peek and switch with slimmer wallet and business card to wallet is no problem.

the stealth assassin only holds billets or credit cards - it can't hold playing cards. Buy the one that fits your budget and style

Shadow doesn't have card to wallet - and has a thought of card to wallet (with a force) and Orphic has a card to wallet - pick the one that has the feature you want most

your reviews are not as good anymore. you just described mainly what it does but i remember earlier reviews you actually showed gimmicks, wallets inside out and mechanics. there is nothign to copy for a laymen. but seeing a himbeer mechanic or in general more insight is far more helpful.

Hi David, love your content, must ask you a question because I can not find an answer to it, I want to buy the wallet The problem is I bought the Hermes already Should come to me soon, in addition to that I always wanted to buy the wallet of Peter Nardi the Stealth assassin wallet, I realized it is good for mentalism (best according to many reviews).
My problem starts whether to buy the Orphic or buy the Orphic plus because I'm also very good With cards it's my specialty, its an obsession you could say, my thought is whether to bring Lewis' wallet while I have Nardi's wallet. And the Hermes that is due to arrive soon, should i use Hermes as the card to wallet? and get the regular orphic for mentalism only ? +the stealth assassin or should I give up on one of those.? [My mom thinks I'm crazy that I'm buying 3 wallets]
What I mean is that I need your **opinion** on the subject.
As one who has much more knowledge than me, in the field and you have the wallets of course .. which is better? Buy them all and decide for myself? Buy the regular or the plus? i don't want to miss anything. in the last 2 year I've been started take mentalism more seriously because its more for grown people and I'm 28yo. when I was young i loved magic with other props.
but I've been attracted to Mentalism as I've grown up.
