Equity is fantastic but it's made up. Equity represents a paper interest in...capital. Capital is king. If 100 of us were all in a jungle right now, you'd have each of our sweat equity (human capital), access to natural resources (hard capital) and the combination of the two (innovation capital). Interests in each of these is merely the agree upon ownership interest in capital. But the interest is derivative. Capital, my friends...ownership control (yes, often, but not limited to equity interests) is key. High-key!
