In vanilla, it seems fine to just put colonies all over the place now, on the best worlds available. Crises are still straightforward to handle. Though gates or proximity make it more convenient. There also isn't much game left by the time you have multiple size 6 worlds right now. They fund the best fleets you can field even with suboptimal income, and redacted stacks+hyper shunt are most of what remains to do in a run.
I’ve wanted to try multi-system colonization, but haven’t explored the inter-system same faction trade mechanics yet. I’m also not sure that it’s worth it considering there’s usually at least one Goldilocks system with every resource you could want in it.
Great walkthrough of your thought process! Thanks for sharing your love for this excellent game.
Thank you for the colony guide, been waiting for this a long time, sitting at 6 mil and trying to find a suitable system, still no luck 😂.

nice work! would you comment about colonizing multiple planets in different systems vs in only one sistem?
I would strongly recommend settling in just one system. I'll get into this in an upcoming episode, but colony defense is a lot harder when spread out.
