We had all female C-141 crews. One of the female pilots I used to fly with went on to become the first female Space Shuttle Commander. I believe she was also the first female flight instructor in the air force.

As an AF officer Vet, I am happy to convey that there isn't anything particularly special about an all female crew. They can fly as good as the men and in some cases, better.

How long does it take to qualify to fly one of these big puppies? I saw 7 people going up the ladder getting in the KC-10 is that the number of people in the crew or what? At 01:58 and clearly after V1 the pilot flying kept her hand on the thrust levers. Is this an Air Force procedure? I ask because in 43 years of Commercial flying SOP was to release the throttles after V1.
There must be some real good female pilots out there.. I tell you as someone that's been around the ocean all my life what iv seen females do in dangerous demanding surf and ocean conditions has been jaw dropping not to mention how good they are sailing in severe conditions. Some females have got a real gene for feeling and managing energy sources. I dont know where they get it from. I'm.not a military person but I wouldn't underestimate any of them

I know this is 2 years late but the C-17 has a stick, not a yoke so there is nowhere else for the pilot to put their hand that’s on the throttles
