- An all-female crew assigned to the 21st Airlift Squadron flew a C-17 Globemaster III aircraft during a routine training mission at Travis Air Force Base, California. An all-female flight crew from the 6th Air Refueling Squadron flew a KC-10 Extender aircraft, Travis Air Force Base, California, fly a routine training mission. A standard training T-1 Jayhawk aircraft out and back flight at Laughlin Air Force Base Texas. The T-1 Jayhawk is the standard aircraft for training pilots who are tracking in the heavy type of aircraft.

We had all female C-141 crews. One of the female pilots I used to fly with went on to become the first female Space Shuttle Commander. I believe she was also the first female flight instructor in the air force.

As an AF officer Vet, I am happy to convey that there isn't anything particularly special about an all female crew. They can fly as good as the men and in some cases, better.
True, but they shouldn't be highlighted.
They are probably less likely to lose a C-17 by hot-dogging, as one male pilot did.

How long does it take to qualify to fly one of these big puppies? I saw 7 people going up the ladder getting in the KC-10 is that the number of people in the crew or what? This was a cool sight to see! However, that first landing looked, sounded, and I’m sure felt like more of a controlled crash... yikes!
At 01:58 and clearly after V1 the pilot flying kept her hand on the thrust levers. Is this an Air Force procedure? I ask because in 43 years of Commercial flying SOP was to release the throttles after V1.
I know this is 2 years late but the C-17 has a stick, not a yoke so there is nowhere else for the pilot to put their hand that’s on the throttles
What's the purpose of having a all female crew? Are all female crews more efficient, than all male crews or mixed crews?
