Jimmy Page listed this solo, along with Achilles Last Stand and Stairway to Heaven as his finest on record. Not hard to see why. The guitar solo on Tea for One is a work of art. Regal blues.
There’s a place in the middle of the solo that’s called nirvana and musical soul bending is defined. That drippy place where the whole thing just hits you.
Robert Plant recorded this entire album in a wheelchair. He, his wife and kids had a really car accident in Aug of 1975. He crushed/shattered his ankle in the accident. They recorded this album in late 1975. The doctors told Robert he may never walk again. Luckily, they were wrong.
Jimmy makes that guitar cry and Plant recorded this whole album in a wheelchair as he had a shattered ankle from a car accident and they didn't know if he'd ever walk again and you can feel the angst and emotion ✌
*Young Turk* {first} I am *BEYOND* pleased at, up to this point, silently watching your musical soul plugin into MY G.O.A.T. band .!!! They've been with me since I was 12.! I saw them twice in the mid 70's, yeah I'm old, lol and it was tantamount to a religious experience...... I became a touring musician shortly after Bonzo's tragic passing in 1980. I met Robert and spoke with him for { memory says an hour }, but for quite a bit of time.! One day I'd like to share with you WHY they were so unique & important. The long view over 50 years I mean. Your solid bro and the fact your generation is moved by them as ours was just..... makes me smile.... *David* .....
Thanks Pope, I’ve got this album- I’m going to give it a well overdue listen. Funny, listening here to your reaction I remember it all yet probably not heard it for decades! Magical blues.
Mine too and sometimes it seems weird; other albums might have more songs I like but the high points on this record - this, Achilles, Nobody's Fault - seem like the Zep apex. Next month I'll probably say Physical Graffiti but an awful lot of the time, it's this.
Love this album and the entire album was finished in about 36 hours of studio time with Jimmy Page mixing and producing the entire album in less than 3 weeks and it was completed....great album!
Many folks will attest to the underrated, slow paced blues of the last two albums, and I'm sure Jimmy Page purists would say this song is better... but after seeing all of your Zep reactions, I think you would prefer "I'm Gonna Crawl" which has a more intense and passionate delivery. Keep rockin'.
Jimmy Page squeezes every bit of soul that you can get out of the neck of a guitar on this one. For me the riffs especially starting at 5:33 are magical. Reminds me of Hendrix a bit in the note selection and feel.
Thank you for reacting to this, so overlooked by people but one of my favorites...just makes you close your eyes and get lost...yet another masterpiece !!
Bonzo!! Man he drives the rig that is Led Zeppelin. Neil Pert is a great tech. drummer, but Bonzo has the soul, and he is a pretty good technician also! How in the heck do you blend jazz with the blues...just like that!
Isn't it just SILLY how damn talented they are ? Crazy man.....I think I like their music now even more than when it first came out when I was a Teen...................
This song was created after Robert had been in a really bad car accident with his family in Greece. Once they could all get back to the UK, he couldn't stay too long because all the members of LZ were what's called "tax exiles" meaning, if you were wealthy and stayed too long in the UK, they would tax your earnings in a higher bracket. So, Robert and Jimmy came to California a bit earlier than the others with Jimmy believing work would help take Robert's mind off things. Sitting around in his room by himself while drinking "tea for one" helped inspire this song. Myself, and a few others, consider this song to be musically related to Since I've Been Loving You. I consider SIBLY to be a young man's heartache; maybe his first one where he's got no clue what just happened but it hurts dreadfully. In this, it seems like it's an older, wiser man, who doesn't wonder at heartache but is resigned to it as a fact of life but no less painful; maybe more so because now you know what you have/had and what you can lose. The instrumentation elevates this piece to an art form. It is exquisite agony and pain made pure.
Man, I wish I had some people like yourself to play with (musically). I love to see young musicians learning across categories. It's what it's all about.
The polarising Joe Bonamassa played this...was quite pleased with himself and his solo..he asked Jimmy Page what he thought of it..." You played too many notes" was the reply😆
You could add some Page/Plant "Unledded" reactions to your channel Pope. It's Robert and Jimmy reuniting after Zeppelin and reworking some classic and new material into an album. Killer stuff.
Oh man, thank you!! Slow blues at its best I think. Again I love your reactions - you are truly an appreciator!! Several people have suggested Nobody's Fault But Mine - while the album version has all the fabulous production values - I'd like to suggest a live version from 6/23/77 at the LA Forum on the bootleg Listen to this Eddie - the guy who made the bootleg is legendary (RIP Mike Millard) and he captured what a lot of people think is one of their best live gigs - this is audio only but fabulous (the whole show) Here's the link ruclips.net/video/KFNDgch-e8Q/видео.html Hope you'll check it out. So much wonderful LZ music out there on the bootlegs!! Thank you!!!! ☮
Once you reach the mellow blues like this from an obscure album (outside of more hardcore fans), you are reaching the place that puts you in elite company. If you meet a Zeppelin fan and talk about their songs and you drop "Tea For One" as one of your favorites, they will nod in admiration of your knowledge, lol. You'll have a friend for life. It's like many great musicians of their time who had some albums that didn't do so well, didn't get airplay but there were always a gem or two on them. IMO this is one such gem. As it were, I feel sorry for having to react to certain songs when the camera is running as it takes away from the vibe. Listening to this song, Going to California and other mellow songs, for me at least, were best experienced by me late at night when just relaxing with the music playing. Trying to react is difficult as it can take away from the "feel". Your reactions have been solid so far. Keep at it, you will often find hidden treasures with great musicians.
1980...folks gone.... sitting in my room.. colored lights on.... smoking a joint...... swaying to Tea For One. It's enough to make a kid buy a guitar and learn to play
Yes the two songs are very similar however I prefer the vocal restraint and the guitarist sobriety of "Tea for One" to the overplayed and excessive aspect of "Since I've Been Loving You".
I have been waiting 2 years for someone to react to this song!! ☺️ It’s amazing ♥️♥️ Would also love to see you react to a song from Heart called “MISTRAL WIND” off their “Dog & Butterfly” album ♥️ It’s also amazing & I’ve been trying to get someone to react to it for over 2 years as well☺️
You've gotten through a lot of Led Zeppelin's music on this channel. With that being said, someone you could potentially check out is Jeff Buckley. He was a terrific live performer according to the 2 surviving members of Led Zeppelin. I would recommend Grace or Mojo Pin, preferably live.
Man I can't wait to you and some others put some ELP EMERSON LAKE AND PALMER in your mix. They are easier on your brain than Yes, It will introduce you to the third of the Great Kings of music from that time era. Keith Emerson on keyboards and synthesizer playing note for note with the drummer Carl Palmer who is possibly the fastest drummer that ever lived, with Greg Lake's acoustic guitar and vocals so pure they could cut glass, will suck your mind into a whole new world. I promise! 👍🏻
I was going to send my cherry picked list of Zeppelin songs, that you you haven't got to yet but you got most of then done and trying to cross reference my list to yours well I decided way your going you may get to them without my help
This whole album was & is highly underrated.
Achilles Last Stand is probably one of their hardest rocking songs.. this album has it all
not anymore
Thanks for choosing this blues song 😊
Jimmy Page listed this solo, along with Achilles Last Stand and Stairway to Heaven as his finest on record. Not hard to see why. The guitar solo on Tea for One is a work of art. Regal blues.
Love that slow burning blues.
Mr. Page also created The Firm with Paul Rodgers of Bad Co. (I know you knew that, but many don't). I wish people would react to Midnight Moonlight.
Their interpretation of the music is incomparable!
There’s a place in the middle of the solo that’s called nirvana and musical soul bending is defined. That drippy place where the whole thing just hits you.
A young black kid reacting to Tea For One on the Presence album........you are now one of us
Another Zeppelin gem...
I Cant Quit You Babe
Royal Albert Hall live 1970
Hurt me baby!!!!!
Go Jimmy. His guitar playing is sick.
Love you for indulging us with Zeppelin.❤
Agree Nobody’s Fault But Mine is a heater!
Yes it is!!!
Yes. It is quintessential Zep. It has all the elements.
Hammer of the Gods!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Led Zeppelin, Hands down the Best ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jimmy makes that guitar cry and Plant recorded this whole album in a wheelchair as he had a shattered ankle from a car accident and they didn't know if he'd ever walk again and you can feel the angst and emotion ✌

One of my favorite LZ songs of all time!! EPIC Blues!
Thanks Pope, I’ve got this album- I’m going to give it a well overdue listen. Funny, listening here to your reaction I remember it all yet probably not heard it for decades! Magical blues.
Have to do "Hots on for Nowhere" and "Nobodys fault but Mine".....yeah defintely the latter for sure
Yes Hots on for Nowhere! That's one always gets me up and moving😀🤘
Literally my favorite song. It makes me cry.😢
Love this. The best- Zeppelin blues.
They are always magnificent! I agree with others here...please do Nobody's Fault But Mine next!
They have no limits...
You can imagine being at a Bluesfest in the summer drinking a beer and jamming on this song
As soon as i saw led and you i was on for this....havent heard this song in about 35 years ?
I love Zeppelin. I love the blues. I love the blues because of Zeppelin.
This song gets better every play it really grows on you ..
One of the most beautiful songs performances ever❤️
Keep them Zep reactions coming! I really recommend For Your Life off this same album. Such a badass track
Oh yes! Something about the groove, time change and feel of that song gets me every fucking time!
Rock royalty.. plain and simple 😎
Btw, awesome to see a young American appreciating old English dudes!
I really don't know why but this has always been my favorite Zeppelin album✌🤘
Mine too and sometimes it seems weird; other albums might have more songs I like but the high points on this record - this, Achilles, Nobody's Fault - seem like the Zep apex. Next month I'll probably say Physical Graffiti but an awful lot of the time, it's this.
and then it seems like a lifetime, oh baby when I feeeeeeeeeeeel this way.....whoa man
Yeah, Pope- Blues Rock on the Blues side of the spectrum. Peace.
Zeppelin blues at it's finest. Good pull Pope, no one reacts to this masterpiece. One of my fav Zep albums for sure
Love this album and the entire album was finished in about 36 hours of studio time with Jimmy Page mixing and producing the entire album in less than 3 weeks and it was completed....great album!
Agreed!
I remember when it first came out and fans (?) were not pleased......didn't take them long to change however and now it's a classic. Hee hee.
@@Newfie-zc7ug it grows on you!
Love this song, it should be much more popular than it is.
Led Zeppelin gets back to the blues on this one
Great, "comin down" song after a long night...a minute, being a lifetime.
Cheers
This song puts you in a trance...
Jimmy Page squeezes every bit of soul that you can get out of the neck of a guitar on this one. For me the riffs especially starting at 5:33 are magical. Reminds me of Hendrix a bit in the note selection and feel.
My favorite of the lesser known songs.
Shout out to the Blues Masters that created this music 100 years ago, but shout out to Led Zep that perfected it and cranked the volume to 11.
Keep it going Pope!
One of my favorite led songs
Love it this is one of my favorite zeppelin songs
Thank you for reacting to this, so overlooked by people but one of my favorites...just makes you close your eyes and get lost...yet another masterpiece !!
Wow, fantastic pick for reaction! Love the channel! God bless!
What a cool tune. Thanks for the memories son!
A new listen Gentle Giant you'll love it.
My favorite studio Page solo!
Bonzo!! Man he drives the rig that is Led Zeppelin. Neil Pert is a great tech. drummer, but Bonzo has the soul, and he is a pretty good technician also! How in the heck do you blend jazz with the blues...just like that!
Nobody’s fault but mine should be next !
Yes!
Isn't it just SILLY how damn talented they are ? Crazy man.....I think I like their music now even more than when it first came out when I was a Teen...................
It’s unreal.
Such an underrated song
My favorite song. This is my special sad song. It makes me cry. Good job finding this one.
You felt that right there at 4:50 I can tell. Haha
I get me a drink when I listen to this one hits home for me
Oh man that drum sound...
One of my favorites. Coolest vibe.
A "time stands still" piece.
La mejor reaccion!!! que buen video, un suscriptor mas!

Love this one! You're only the 2nd reactor I've known do this one
Since I’ve been having tea for one
Man, I wish I had some people like yourself to play with (musically). I love to see young musicians learning across categories. It's what it's all about.
i cant mess with these masters genius
The polarising Joe Bonamassa played this...was quite pleased with himself and his solo..he asked Jimmy Page what he thought of it..." You played too many notes" was the reply😆
Nice reaction. Wait till get to more of their b-sides. Good stuff!
in the uk, they didn't release singles...so no b-sides
Nice that you are doing some lesser reviewed songs. I've not heard anyone else review this one before.
Hey Pope! What time is it? It's time to get The Led out! Turn it up!!🔈🔉🔊
And btw....there are no bad songs by them...you havent even scratched the surface yet....you are going to enjoy this
Just a Masterpiece.
great song, once again Plant kills it with the lyrics
Please do "Royal Orleans" from that same album! It's a total banger! So much fun, great drums, great tune!
Do travelling riverside blues. It’s suchhh a great song by them, but as it was released on their live album it never got that much recognition.
You could add some Page/Plant "Unledded" reactions to your channel Pope. It's Robert and Jimmy reuniting after Zeppelin and reworking some classic and new material into an album. Killer stuff.
Only Zeppelin can take the tempo of a song from racing to a crawl within 20 seconds.
Loved Zepp since I started playing drums in 71. So, prefer the pre-Nevison, Zepp. But, Presence, the drumming is over the top. Bonham.....❤
One band you might want to consider reviewing is "Blackfoot" Strikes. This was a band that was heavily underrated.
Oh man, thank you!! Slow blues at its best I think. Again I love your reactions - you are truly an appreciator!! This is good ‘watch it rain and fill up the puddles’ music! fire!
Check out "Im Gonna Crawl.

1980...folks gone.... sitting in my room.. colored lights on.... smoking a joint...... swaying to Tea For One. It's enough to make a kid buy a guitar and learn to play
Since I've Been Loving You's first cousin....
I was thinking it's brother. So many moments when u can hear that song
Yes the two songs are very similar however I prefer the vocal restraint and the guitarist sobriety of "Tea for One" to the overplayed and excessive aspect of "Since I've Been Loving You".
One of their best and least known songs .
I hope you’ve gotten a nice smooth stoney for some of these.
Tea for one is as good as any other Zep track , how can anyone say underrated, not for me , personally .
The MIGHTY ZEP
Who could make music like this today?
I have been waiting 2 years for someone to react to this song!! ☺️ It’s amazing ♥️♥️ Would also love to see you react to a song from Heart called “MISTRAL WIND” off their “Dog & Butterfly” album ♥️ It’s also amazing & I’ve been trying to get someone to react to it for over 2 years as well☺️
That intro should be 10x longer
Sounds a lot like since I've been loving you
You've gotten through a lot of Led Zeppelin's music on this channel. With that being said, someone you could potentially check out is Jeff Buckley. He was a terrific live performer according to the 2 surviving members of Led Zeppelin. I would recommend Grace or Mojo Pin, preferably live.
2 surviving members ? try 3
Unmistakable Jimmy Page guitar
Haven't heard that one in several years. The song is great but could probably loose a few minutes somewhere in the middle. Better songs on Presence.
Please react to Bron‐Yr‐Aur Stomp by Led Zep
Man I can't wait to you and some others put some ELP EMERSON LAKE AND PALMER in your mix. Hey do Four Sticks studio version! Also The Rover studio and That's The Way live at Earls Court! You will love them all!
One last comment. Let the camera roll right after you hear the song don’t cut.
If it takes 5 mins for you to react it’s all good…
Skinshape- Take My Time
with zep your favorite song is always the last one you heard. At least with me anyways
hey bro could you react to sirens by pearljam, I don't know if you will like it but its one of my fav songs of all time
Do achilles last stand if you ha mt already. Itl blow you away
