Wow ,,, literally just started the hunt for an EQ pedal. Wasn't planning to drop this much on one but that last section with the expression pedal sure has me thinking. So many cool possibilities.
Source audio EQ2 does most of this but with some other limitations and smaller form factor. So far digging the more user friendly pedal layout of the GFI might be worth the extra space!
@@edwardjons8684 amps are just a series of eq and gain stages. Jim Lil did a video on where tone comes from. He replicated fender, vox, and marshall amps with solid state eq and gain stages that he put in an old tackle box. I think this would need to be a little more complex to be a modeler but it's not as far off as you'd think.
I am on constant lookout for pedal that does more of something like plugin the DROP does from Cytomic. The Drop can high low freq boost or dip resonate, shift signal left and right with spread that sort of creates whole down the middle that works great with Fuzz pedals. Its sort of midside with more controls like this but couple other cookies in it.
This looks like such a great tool. Could really see using this with independent settings and have one post euna up front as a bit of a "guitar fixer" so if I swap a guitar my dialed in settings won't sound like ass on a different type of instrument and maybe run the other side very late in chain with a low/high pass just to clean up a few things before it goes out to be recorded. Really appreciate the format of your videos. I know the length has became a bit of a meme, but it does feel more like having a gear friend walking through and just chilling about gear and shit than a 2 hour hard sell.
Hello Mark.! I love all your videos..!!! It's really great that you can share a little of your great skills and experiences with us. Greetings from Mexico City. 🎸❤🔥
What an insightful and thorough video! Thanks a lot, Mark. What is the midi controller You have on that board? Looks like the size of it is quite small. Would be a good extension for overall use. See after this I’m seriously on the brink of ordering the pedal. Compared to the XTS-model Boss GE-7, this could cover that and so much more with what ever OD pedals I already have. A win-win aspect in my book. Thanks again.
Really enjoying watching this one. IMO every pedal in this form factor should have a large screen like this. Typing as I watch this, and hoping this has an expression pedal to function similar to a Wah. About to find out! Cheers.
Was hoping watching this would talk me out of getting one but surprise surprise it’s done the opposite. Would’ve liked a simple cv input but for a pedal this deep I can see why they went with midi. Could make some insane wah pedals with this.
Hey Mark, great content! I’m curious about the limiter/gain boost part of the vid. I’ve never had a pedal with a limiter on my board. Trying to find space on my board for the Enieqma - so.. what do you think the chances are that I could tweak the limiter and input boost to replace the function of my MXR dyna comp. 😂
Wow, that’s cool. I just got the boss eq 200 and after seeing how much EQ can change your tone it probably won’t be too long till I get something like this. Does it only have five EQ bands to use? For a pedal at this price I kind of expected to at least have eight EQ bands. The biggest thing i like is the Q edit and curve selection. I feel like if they made a 2.0 version with 8 to 10 EQ bands and the ability to scroll through the presets with an expression knob, I would get that in a heartbeat
Hey mark does this by chance of an online editor? Im debating right now whether to sell my eq2 lol I have an answer to my own question. Gfi emailed me back and said they will have an online editor and it will be out in around january.
Totally love the long review format!! Would love to see ya do an hour on the specular tempus!! Ahh, I'm just being greedy. Thanks Mark!!
Spec Temp was like my second or third review I ever did and I think it’s under 15 minutes. I have no idea how I managed to do that.
@@markjohnstonofficial I know!! Haha, and it's a great video for a short one. I still use that pedal as my main reverb, sounds terrific.

Whoa - an entire hour review. This channel is amazing!
Love this angle you take on the "operating" part of this and not to mention playing fire tunes-absolutely love this, Mark!
You guys KILLED it.
It sold me. Mine arrives this week 🙌
So much going on with Enieqma. Nice to see such a thorough breakdown!
The cabinet emulation part of the video REALLY surprised me, such a great product!
It’s wild. GFI really engineered the hell out of this thing. Props to them

GFI collection grows,.
Gonna need a bigger boat
It's an amp modeller. Where you can design your own amp. It's brilliant
I will qualify that: with the pultek it's a recorded amp. And with the two mono ins/outs you can choose your own drive section
It’s not an amp modeller. It can replicate the eq functions. If that was all it took to model an amp there’d be no need for modellers.

What an incredible demo/ review on an incredible pedal! Thank you!

Insanely full featured 👀!
Like a Source Audio EQ2 on steroids.

Excellent video! Excellent pedal (getting more difficult to refer to them as just pedals these days)!

Not heard of Jennings guitars before, they look and sound great 🤔
Hey, a Major key! Love it

The loop at the end was driving me crazy

Now I need a EQ pedal I feel it😂… this I S Fckn awsome
Hi Mark, great video! Can you use the Shart Delay and dimensional Expansion at the same time in a preset or would you have to choose between them?

Been meaning to pick up the eq200 imagine it’s a lot quicker to use than this thing, how are you finding the boss?
Can you do a video of that EQ used in bass guitar?
great job....
Can you do a review of this eq using a bass guitar?
It is better than Source Audio Eq2?
Enieqma should be a IR loader to.
lol
If it did other standard effects it’d be a mobius/h9 killer
Is the limiter the same idea as a compressor?
No.
Hey mark does this by chance of an online editor? Im debating right now whether to sell my eq2 lol
I have an answer to my own question. Gfi emailed me back and said they will have an online editor and it will be out in around january.
