Thank you for watching and as always hope you guys enjoy the video. Don’t forget to hit that 👍 if you do! Your support means so much to me.

I agree with cam, take her to do some showjumping on bigger tracks to get her head back in the zone. The bigger fences will back her off. Thing is, she’s more than capable so she just wants to whizz around at smaller fences and doesn’t feel the need to be listening to you in the process. A slightly bigger course will keep her focus and hopefully more engaged in your direction and the partnership you’re building. Mega XC, you couldn’t ask for a better attitude from her and the dressage has come on leaps and bounds. The highs more than outweigh the lows here, lots of positives and progress made. Well done you!
Awww thank you so much! The positives and first couple of phases are definitely what I'm trying to focus on. She'll come back next year even stronger and can't wait to see what's in store for us xx
I'm so glad you commented this because it helped me understand the thinking as well.
She’s a real talent. She’s green and you’re still learning with her. She’s not listening. Maybe a bit of ground work in hand to gain that bit more respect. But you can’t be down because she’s simply a work in progress and awesome. Well done on producing her to this so quickly.
Thanks so much! Definitely ground work over the winter... never fancy another trot up like that again 😂😂
Love the educational videos! Cameron always nails exactly what needs to be strengthened, challenging horse and rider the perfect amount. Well done ‘Em, and Addie tries so hard!
Home, happy and healthy. What more do you want? Save your disappointments for bigger issues. Don't mess with your own brain Em! You have both been spectacular this season, cherish the days!
🎯👏👏👏
100% that, Addie didn't think she had done anything wrong she loved every phase xx
Completely agree!! 🥰🥰
I know it’s hard to fi ish that way …. But , you guys did 90% of it perfectly!! It’s ok to have a cry , then pull up your socks and move onwards and upwards
I know it’s hard to fi ish that way …. But , you guys did 90% of it perfectly!! It’s ok to have a cry , then pull up your socks and move onwards and upwards
There is an mental as well as physical tiredness that can come from stepping up distances etc. i think she will have learnt so much from this, I think it was just inexperience and she resorted to a little bit to her immature ways of going that you’ve done so awesomely to help build her confidence in this year.
Thank you, I totally agree think this will have given her so much experience and knowledge xx
Addie is still so young and performing so well, Em. I truly do not believe her performance in show jumping was a negative, but rather just a learning opportunity for her. She's so smart and when you bring her to the next event/training session she will be that much better off because of Bicton. Well ridden, well done from Addie, and well done team!
That is a very true statement with horses” you will have the highest of highs with some of the lowest of lows”. Think back to the beginning to now and how VERY far you have both come. Remember you are bringing along a young green bean and will have some of those “blips” along the way. The mental part of horses is SOOOOOO hard and it can definitely give us a knock, she’s taken to dressage and cross country amazingly she just needs to learn a bit more about coming into the show jumping. Little tweaks here and there, maybe a few grids , high cross jumps( that helps to back them off a bit and really pay attention) etc. she will get there, you have done soooo much with her already and she’s maturing steadily. We are ALL so proud of you and look forward to seeing you bringing her along❤️
Loved seeing the "A" team. I'm going to say congratulations to you both. I think you did great. You should have heard my yell when you nearly came a cropper on cross-country over that jump. I spooked my Golden Retriever who was beside me! On that note next year will be utterly amazing for you both. Best to Suzie, she's a great groom and friend to you.
So thankful to their help!
Hehe sorry for giving your doggie a fright, can't lie it was a rather scary moment for me too haha xx
I’m a proud friend and excited for next years 2* at Bicton 💪😘
What a season you and Addie have had. I know it's not a nice feeling after the showjumping, but all in all your pony is a little superstar and it seemed she was definitely still in XC mode. As she is young, there is plenty more events in your future (the only way is up as the saying goes). Very well done Emily and Addie - can't wait to see your future adventures together xx
Thank you so much! Just gutted our season had to end of that but totally agree she's epic and lots more fun and goals to be achieved xx
Love the way you all support each other, it's brilliant, at the end of the day I guess that's what stands out about watching these snapshots into your lives, you do your best have fun and become real friends, well done x
Ah horses! So many brilliant takeaways from this - 8s in the dressage, a truly confident clear on the XC and just how far Addie has come from the slightly tentative mare she was over the winter, with her napping and the odd runouts etc. You were less than 4 faults off the leaders going into the SJ and although I'm sure that also increases your disappointment, it's a hell of an achievement with a six year old you've brought on! Absolutely brilliant. I have no doubt that you will slay it next year, probably in the 100! Perhaps just a bit of confusion for a young horse who's never experienced the XC before the SJ, and for that SJ to then be on grass when her last few rounds (where's been brilliant) were on a surface. She does also seem to be quite teenager-y at the moment - bit bolshy and thinks she knows it all! Which is, to be fair, pretty common with six year olds! If it were me (and feel free to stick this internet commenter's advice wherever you like - she is your horse and you know her far better than me) I'd probably spend the winter doing some groundwork as well as the ridden, and just getting her really paying attention and listening again. That independent attitude such a blessing in a good XC horse, but then they still have to know that Mum knows best in the end!
So incredibly proud of all the moments and memories you two have made throughout your journey together ❤
Aww thanks so much! The best is yet come 🤞 x
She is an awesome pony! You have many seasons ahead. Enjoy it all. Remember the positives and make a plan for what needs improving. You can both do this!! ❤
Gutted for you after such an amazing start but that’s horses for you and you both look such a wonderful partnership!! Beautifully ridden. Well done Em xx
It took me an entire year to get around my first course. You have both come a long way. She is a lovely mare with a huge future.
Funny enough, dogs yawn when they are nervous so you're not alone!
Also that beach day outing was good practice not falling off! Very very well done!!
It was clearly the trial run I needed 😂😂
She was epic out cross country. You gave me a heart attack at that log with the bit of a drop .
Highs and lows of horseback riding. It’s reality! Emily you rode brilliantly. Addie is stellar because of YOU. She’s just young… all good things come with patience and time. Bicton was a fantastic experience for you both. We grow through what we go through!
Cheers to you, you survived in one piece!
So much love from California⛰️🌲☀️💙
You wouldn't love the highs without the lows... everything in balance in the end. You're both safe and sound (despite that one x-country jump omg!!) and that's the main thing!
Your trot up outfit was gorgeous. I fully anticipate also being carted by my horse during the trot up.
Aww thank you. The trot up is definitely something we need to work on xx
Fantastic Emily and Addie huge congratulations 🎊🍾🎉🎈 you two are a pretty fit and getting better and better. Great clip to watch tfs😎🍾😎
Thank you so much Christine! x
I'm really glad that you didn't fall off. I thought you were going to. What a finish.
Bless her, it must have been so confusing for her. Normally, it’s dressage, show jumping and wheee, cross country. Bicton is dressage only on one day, then all that roads n tracks n steeplechase followed by wheeee cross country. Then the 3rd day there is a big grassy field and lots of jumps so it must mean more wheee, cross country. For such a new thing, she held it together nicely. You rode amazingly, those sticky britches probably helped you over that log, that and your balance and core strength. Build on this year, the two of you have come soooo far. She will eventually figure out that not all grass fields mean wheee cross country.
Exactly that and I think she coped with it all so well bless her. Sticky breeches defo helped hehe xx
Well done to you both, please remember she is so so young, you both have a brilliant future together. 😊
Thank you ❤️
Addie is absolutely awesome! I am sure the atmosphere at Bicton was electric and she could not help but but soak up the excitement. I love the way you let her enjoy herself on the cross country. She will go far with you. I just love the way your Mum hides! it brings back memories of my own mother who carried a pillow to bury her face in with her to all my competitions! I don't think she ever saw me ride. Congratulations!
What an achievement to do as well as you did Emily, you are my favourite rider to watch, you have a lot of seasons ahead of you both. Xxx
Great to see you back. Here's to an exciting 2024 ahead.
Addys first long format, Fabulous dressage , cross country day excellent . 2 out of 3 for her first time 🤩Remember this one was different & a big atmosphere in the jumping ring just a bit hard for her to differentiate from the exciting day before & that will come from experience. We all know the disappointments that can come from the Showjumping ring on any day .I think you & she have done an incredible job in 2 years from a just backed youngster to now WOW 🤩. What a future coming for you both 🎉
Great video Em. You and Addie did great. First major event and really you did great. Well done.
Thanks lovely. Onwards and upwards 💪
Well done em!!! You smashed it, you and Adie have the best bond and partnership.
Also I always yawn when I’m anxious, it is a shortness of breath or something. So weird isn’t it 🤣 xxx
i thin you both did incredibly well. What a little star Addie was in all those different phases for Cross Country. Don't worry about the Show Jumping - its all a learning curve and to see her looking so happy and wanting to go go go is wonderful, its a credit to you and the way you look after her. You're going to have the most wonderful journey together for a long long time.
Being disappointed is natural. But boy, do you have a heckuva mare there. She is going to continue to develop and there is lots of time for ribbons in the future! Thanks for taking us along. ❤🎉❤🎉
Wow, Emily!!! That cross-country course was extremely technical - way to go Addie 🎉❤🎉. (Addie’s greeting to you the morning after cross-country - such sweetness ❤)…
Wasn't it just the sweetest, bless her ❤️
Haven't watched it yet, but that's my favourite thumbnail of yours - absolutely stunning!
Wow, thank you!
she has turned into the most incredible xc machine! Seems to really love getting on with her job! so excited for the future for you two!
Don’t be so hard to n yourself you and Addie were great😊🐎👍
Well done Emily and Addie, my heart was in my mouth watching you ride the steeplechase and coming around that corner, where you were hanging on for dear life. Such a shame about the showjumping. You have both had an amazing season, so it was horrible to see you end so deflated in the end. Onwards and upwards for the 2024 season. Lots of love xx
Its such a shame the season had to end of that, really don't think Addie deserved that but bring on next season 💪 xx
Awww dont be sad you both were legends!!! you and Addie have come so far this season, and i have absolutely loved every moment of following you both, you both are a awesome team together. My heart skipped a beat in the cross country with your "oh no" moment, my legs even move when i watch you go over the jumps! Your the perfect team, she was incredible, your hard work has definitely paid off well done 🥳🥇💐 i hope we still get to see vloges as i love watching your vids, im always watching to see when they are out.
Next season you will be unstoppable! You will be the best, and ill be first in line to watch you!!!
Aww your support means so much thank you! Lots more vlogs to come don't worry. xx
What a great team - congrats to you both (and all of you in the larger village), you should appreciate the achievements and look forwards!! As a gardener, my favorite saying is ‘there’s always next year’!! You’ve laid some terrific foundations and Addie is full of promise.
What wonderful teamwork! Great friends. Great fun.
so sorry that happened but like you said she's young and lots still to learn. well done!! and well sat!!
Blimey Em, look how far you’ve come this year it’s insane! She is an xc machine and like everyone else has said the understanding to be with you in the sj will come. Not the usual format for her. Would 100% be happier with a horse you trust xc but need to refine sj than one you struggle with xc! Keep being awesome - a bright bright future for 2024 x
Emily you've got years ahead of you you both did incredible it's a learning curb next year will be your year ❤
Thank you ❤️
Emily what an amazing time you had.. Addie is going to be one hell of a horse next year wow what a combination you are.. She will understand it more next year with you guiding her .. super well done 🎉🎉xx
Thank you! Onwards and upwards x
Stronger bit in the jumping phase I would think
You and addie are brilliant, she is still learning andso young bless her but u both gabe 110% and were amazing. Unfortunately it just wasnt your day but you both did come back fine from it which is the main thing. Yes its disheartening but thats animals for you and humans😊 think u r both great and you do a fab job with your horses, dont be to hard on yourself. 😊
Thank you so much!! Exactly that, that's horses and any sport. What makes us more determined to come out better and stronger next year x
Can’t wait to watch this video I love your content so much❤
aww thanks for the support x
You are hanging out with Ashley. That's So awesome. She's pretty awesome too. Em , Tina , Meg and Ash. Love you all
You too, definitely didn’t deserve those five polls you deserved to be a prize giving❤
When you come back in a couple years and smash that Course you and Addie are amazing and I wish to be like you do one day❤
I still think you guys are amazing. I'm sorry that show jumping was rough this go round. I still believe in you guys and hope that this is just another chance to grow.
I know in the moment it's so so hard not to feel disappointed especially when you were in such a competitive position and had had such a great first two days but actually I think it could be a blessing in disguise as I think another year of competing under belt will make all the difference in going to Badminton rather than going next year when perhaps she's still a little green to the 3 Day environment; she is going to be a force to be reckoned with! You should be so proud of how far you've bought her on this year, she is a really special little mare and there were so many positives to take away from the experience too. You are doing a fantastic job. Xx
Hey Em. Amazing effort and never be sad of an interesting show jumping round. Just more to think about next season. If it was me my gelding was exactly the same. Loved jumping and quite a puller. It was only until I decided to move up to novice i reaped the rewards. The bigger fences is what she needs to understand the running can’t happen. It will teach her to wait and to respect them as my gelding did. I no you will probably read this and think she is not ready but honestly, give it a go and I bet you will be suprised. But Awsome effort well done and an amazing season. Andy
You did great! You had a great phases then clear cross country, Show jumping she was keen, next year you will be great! You accomplished alot this year. Congratulations!
Onwards and upwards as always!
You did so well!
Also I always yawn when I'm nervous!
Thank you so much!! Hehe glad I'm on not alone in the yawning question xx
She is awesome and extremely enthusiastic but still green and learning. I know it was disappointing for the showjumping, but you know she will only improve with more work. Great team work and love how you all support each other ❤❤❤
Was a bit teary with seeing you all supporting each other - what a great group of women holding each other up. You all rock x
Omg you 2 are absolutely amazing 🤩
An exciting future ahead for you guys xxx
Aww thanks so much x
You both were amazing how far you’ve both came is unreal there is so much more to come I feel very exited for you 🎉
Thank you xx
She’s looking mega 😍 like you say you both will come out better and stronger next year so don’t dwell on it! Your both looking amazing ❤
i loved the trot up, when they decide it is a running time you cant stop it🤣 Addie is looking so goog atm! it will only get better. Also for the scary moment at the xc, you should be very proud of your body strenght and balance, not everyone would be able to get back in the seddle like you did! Looking forvard to watch you two glow in the next season!
I think more ground work will be in the training calendar over the winter haha! Although not quite sure how much that'll help haha. Thanks was very lucky over that jump haha! x
I followed your score over the weekend and was SO excited for you after the dressage and XC, it was so gutting to see your SJ score. As bad as it sounds, I am "glad" it was simply a case of Addie being over enthusiastic and loving it a bit too much. You'll get there - an incredible event for you both! You should be so proud of yourself and Addie, she's such a cracking horse and you're an amazing rider.
Hi Em can you pass on MY best wishes on TO the team .And that was brilliant confidence coming 3rd place as a team you shuold be happy with that.
You and Addie are amazing ❤ You both have come so far Em. I am sad for you to end the season but she has come along great and will be even greater next year ❤
The hardest time is when you have a jigsaw, but putting it all together and finding the right bits going in the right parts . .. and you keep trying this part and that part, and it takes time and then suddenly you look up and see you only have one peice left to slot in 😊. Thats all you have to do Emily.... you have all the right parts, now you just have to find the right way of fitting the last element.... its there you may need to Wiggle, turn it and find the exact way to get Her to listen to you.... BUT the one thing for me that stands out is this.... YOU DIDN'T get eliminated from falling off ❤ so yes you had the disappointment of 5 poles.... but you have the bonus of the experience, the footage and overall... The completion of uour first 3 Day Event 😊❤
She's a baby , with big heart, bravery and trust.... all the building blocks for a winner..... BUT YOU did win your event as you came home intact, with Addie safe and all the experience to go forward in to 2024. . How absolutely exciting is that 😀😀😀 you're an amazing rider, you have an amazing horse, amazing opportunities others don't have or get and a great future. Congratulations on all of the above and woo hooo for 2024 ❤❤❤
You two are so well matched and your future is so bright! You'll laugh at this one day, when you're succeeding at Novice. Just keep doing what you do. Great vlog! I literally felt every emotion.
You have so many positive moments this year! The disappointments can actually make us stronger. You have a wonderful horse and I'm sure next year you will have many wonderful successes! Absolutely love watching your journey with Addie!
Thank you so much for showing everything as always, makes me feel 10x better that I’m not the only one getting dragged around on the ground 😂❤ what an amazing year the 2 of you have had, you should be so proud x
Looking forward to this. I know you both did amazing xx
Aww you're very kind x
I'd jump school on grass (in different venues) as often as possible. When all showjumping is on a surface its easy for them to get that excitement. So much enthusiasm though and loving her job.
Wow wow wow you two are epic! Your going far ❤
Thank you so much!!
You have done such a wonderful job with Addie!! She has come so far this year, and wow she did such a great job handling all the new stuff and the whole new situation. You did great, congratulations to you for all of your hard work Em! ❤
Oh em. My heart jumped into my mouth when you nearly was out the side door. . Excellent core hun.
But hey listen, addie was loving it so much. She seemed to let it go to her head. Your results might have been different it SJ was after Dr ey
Was quite impressed with my stickability! Yeah exactly I think another season under her belt she'll be a different horse again x
Wonderful ride.
Great job. You both did awesome. Keep moving forward.🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
The future with Addie is going to be amazing!!! ❤❤ You've already come so far!!! Love following your journey!!!
I have to say she is a different horse from last year! You have done an amazing job with her, and I think you have got a future super star on your hands! She has got a real scopey jump and I think those show jumps just didn't make her focus, if they had been bigger maybe she would have respected them more? At the end of the day it's not the worst problem to have!, at least you know she's absolutely talented enough to go through the grades. Looking forward to seeing what she achieves in 2024.
Well done, love they pronounced here name right. She is an epic mare and will be fantastic going forward
Yipeeeeee grass roots here we come.❤❤❤❤❤❤
Absolutely fantastic. What an achievement. Well done Emily x
Thank you x
Have to admit I looked at the scores before I watched this, so was wondering what happened in the SJ. She certainly was in XC mode! Still so many amazing positives as you were both great in the other elements. Looking forward to next season. Well done.
Thank you so much. Roll on next year x
she was unbelievable round that XC! You should be proud, glad you’re both home and safe x
You did great and yes she is still young but she is willing and wants to learn and progress.
Be proud of where you have come and your future looks amazing. ❤️
Thank you... 100% that can never knock her enthusiasm ❤️
Well done Emily. I am a dreamer sitting on a sofa and you are out there bossing it! You did amazingly. So many miles ahead of you. Celebrate every victory. Mega victory overall. You have produced a young horse to this point. SJ will come. All a learning curve. Arena for warm up to grass was clearly the trigger. All to master for next year 🎉
You did an incredible job. It’s okay to feel disappointed but also remember she’s only young! She was absolutely buzzing and sometimes horses just don’t play ball and get a bit overwhelmed. Be proud of what you’ve done and how great you both were. She’s a keen bean! Don’t worry about it! You got a whole future ahead with her! And I can’t wait to see what you two go on to do! ❤
She is so talented and so are you! What a team.
Thank goodness! REAL eventing. Roads and tracks, 'chase, speed and endurance. Just like the good old days, before they ruined it. Make eventing the great sport it used to be again!! It was tougher but safer.
Still a huge achievement - I think if the showjumping would have been on a surface arena it would have been a different story, bless her. She wanted XC again!! For still how green she is you’ve done incredibly well. Pat yourself on the back girl ❤
The lowest of lows would have been if you'd come off in XC!!! 😳 y'all did an awesome job!! All season, first season 🥰🥰🥰
You are such an inspiration, love watching your vlogs and see Addy develop. What is this calming syringe you are giving her? I think it could also help my horse
Grab all that was good Emily, work on the SJ this winter and she will come out next Spring a different horse. She is only 6 and still learning her job. You have had an amazing journey with her but this is just the beginning of bigger things!
Well done Em and Addy
No regrets, the mare has improved immensely, just check Thar horsehage isn't warming her up, also blue chip can make them a bit hot, as you are sponsored they will be able to tell you if that is the case. I know it's tough with the show jumping faults but he'll, what a great triumph for her first one day event, she can't read the script so every day was a whole new mind boggling day, well done for not coming off, I love sticky bum breeches lol ❤🎉xx
Was so thankful for the sticky bums that's for sure! She coped with each day so well bless and has come home happy and healthy which is the main thing. I am feeding the HorseHage High Fibre so it's it's high in fibre and lower in protein and energy levels so suitable for her xx
Arh, bless you, you did an amazing job.
Looks like she was still in cx mode in the sj?! As you say, she is only 6, and I believe you've got an incredible future together.
Loved being at Bicton and watching you both🥰
Thanks so much. She certainly was but can't knock her love for jumping bless her. Glad you enjoyed it xx
You never know what kind of horse you’ll have on the Sunday of a long format. It’s just more information that you store in your Addie file. You did the best you could! I’ve started doing some grid work the day after XC schools to practice that scenario because it’s so rare we event in that order at a normal HT these days.
Very true thank you, hat's a great idea! xx
Gutted for you she is young next year will be yours xx
Bring it on 💪
Such a shame to have that ending but Addie has come on so far and you should be proud of her!
Thanks lovely xx
We love Abby, and we thought you did a awesome still talking about thinking you need to go down to Frederick's and get more control of Her She looks so much stronger and healthier. My family is looking forward to next year.
With you
That would be pretty epic! Aw thank you to you and the fam xx
Emily I understand why you may feel gutted BUT you definitely should not be. Look at the work you’ve put in… the strides you’ve taken… to have Addie there. I thought it was a lovely turn out. Addie has come a long way. The SJ… Cams right… higher jumps… Addie looking for a challenge… remember she’s smart clever, quick learner. Gymnastics challenges. Winter hacks up down hills to strengthen her hind end, rock her back on her hocks… reach under herself more. That XC 😮 down over the log… chest up chest up good save 😅 Mom Dad and ground crew barn fairies did excellent job👏👏👏👏 the Yawning (in start box etc. when not tired) is the brain/body trying to get more oxygen… deep breaths 😉 Hat pin for next trot up. Em that was ALOT for first time doing true 3 day… you should be proud of Addie and yourself. 😊
You're so right, lots of positives to take away from the day thank you xx
Absolutely novice + horse in yhe making 🤩 you're doing a great job with her
okay, well done. That was amazing and the fact you stayed on at that fence is some godly superpowers.
Ps. Did i just see Ashley Eventing?
Thanks so much!
Very well spotted, you did indeed 😍
@@emdeventing Thank you so much for posting your journey with Lola, Addie and Sprite - it's incredible to be able to follow you guys as you improvee- even better because you're cornish aha
