    Man, what a tone!! Thanks for sharing your experience with this product.
    I've been very curious about 1control since a heard about it. I thing you got very nice sounds with it. The fact of a so small piece of gear allow us access other features of amp 1 was a very good idea. Some time all you need it's a simple solution that helps improve your tone.

      Dude! Thank you for the kind words! I‘m glad you like my video. And yeah, I thought about hooking up a midi controller with a dedicated expression knob, but thought there had to be another way. And carrying that idea around with me, Thomas released the 1Control. 😃 Just like that! It almost felt surreal. But I‘m extremely happy now. I do have a few phone videos from my first gig with it. If you‘re interested in it, I‘ll put together a little video. No powersoak, though. I played so loud, that I got my power amp cooking without it. 😃 I used the 1Control for a solo boost with the second master, though… I got nothing but compliments on my sound that night. I‘m really grateful for the Amp 1 and the 1Control. 🙌🏻

Geil!!! Weiter so 🤘🤘🤘❤️

      Vielen Dank, mein Lieber!
      Danke für Deine lieben Worte! 🙏🏻 Dann hoffentlich bis spätestens nächstes Jahr in Mannheim!

QUESTION I had a cheap Donner yellow fall delay only in the loop and took it out and made my Mercury sound much better. Do you think it was the quality of the pedal or what? This was a great video…..beautiful tones. The part that to this day, I don’t know about when it comes to both of Thomas’s amps are if the Amp 1 is for clean to vintage/classic tones, then can I get a good 80’s, EVH, hot-Rodded plexi tone? Those tones aren’t considered “modern high-gain tones”, at this point. I’ve even talked with Thomas about this. I have yet to hear a really good 80s, classic, EVH (Fair Warning), or Ratt (Invasion of your Privacy) style tone. An SLO can get that tone, but I get hesitant to say “SLO” because everyone equates an SLO to ultra-high gain, when it’s the SLO’s plexi/crunch channel that’s so good. Anyway, I was wondering if you were able to pull that style of tone out of the Amp 1.

    • @manuelbastian
      @manuelbastian  9 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you, brother! 🙏🏻🥰 Well, considering, that a lot of people got those sounds in the eighties with a plain old Marshall 2203/2204 and a boost pedal of their liking and that I recorded some of my favorite sounds with a 2203 and a treble boost in front of it, I‘d say you can definitely get the sounds of that era with the Amp 1. The EQ is powerful enough to bend the sound in any direction and there‘s way more gain, than on those old Marshalls, especially combined with the built-in boost. But you can always try your own boosts, overdrives, distortions, what have yous, to go to a different direction. I mean, after all Eddie got these tones out of a Marshall and the Amp 1 is a great Marshall or rather 3 great Marshalls…

    • @phillamoore157
      @phillamoore157 9 месяцев назад

      @@manuelbastian That’s exactly what I was thinking, as well. All those great tones from the late 70’s an d80’s was with those old 60’s and early 70’s Marshalls. So, I would think Thomas, being the genius he is, copied those fundamental (true) tones almost exactly. I think I’ll give this model a shot. Thanks for the reply!

    • @manuelbastian
      @manuelbastian  9 месяцев назад +1

      @@phillamoore157 Have you seen the videos, where Thomas compares the Amp 1 to all his vintage amps? To say he comes close would be an understatement. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed! 🙂 Give it a few days! Those very active eqs gave me a bit of a learning curve. But once you get what they do, you’re off to the races!

    • @phillamoore157
      @phillamoore157 9 месяцев назад

      @@manuelbastian Yeah…I made it a point to watch that. That’s where we got to talking (I was stunned he even responded to me). Thomas is a GREAT player. The problem with these guys, and this is an all-out epidemic on RUclips demo’s is that, it was non-stop lead playing the entire time. While I’m a fan of that, when you’re trying to hear the gain structure of an amp, it’s all but pointless. I need to hear rhythm playing, with chords that let the amp breath. When you listen to EVH’s playing, the best part was his funky rhythm playing, and choice of chords and/or riffs (Unchained, mean-streak, Dirty Movies, etc..). I went on to tell Thomas that I need to hear his products dialed in for those tones. And, demo’s like that are virtually non-existent. He covered a TON of stuff in that video….It was quite long if memory serves. Extremely informative, and fascinating. And, he was able to pull a lot of tones out, but it was what he chose to that left me still wondering. Interestingly, enough, Thomas completely agree’d with me, and said he was going to make it a point to focuse a few minutes on that style of playing. He’s such a class arc. He’s as much of a gentleman as he is a genius. Almost every hot-rodded/boutique amp company in the past 30yrs, has tried to make an amp that captures those tones….yet, you rarely see a video of someone focusing on it. Just like Friedman’s amps…. I think there might be two (that I know of) demo’s of Friedman’s amps of guys that absolutely nailed not just that style of tone, but played riffs that showed it off. The world went and got on a high-gain, chug-fest, along with a focus on shredding, and it’s ruining gear demo’s. They’ e turned into a reason for these guys to put on a clinic, rather than a display of the tones these amps were designed to capture. But, I digress…. Yes, I trust what I’m hearing at this point to give it a shot. So, I’ve got the Amp 1 on order as we speak. Thank you again for your feedback….hearing form the pro’s is what gives me confidence to pick one up. 👍

He had tons of fun playing, of course that comes accross. Lead or rhythm, he‘s invested himself 100%! Another one that comes to mind is Gary Moore. Pure energy!

      Hallo Patrick! Wichtig ist was Dir gefällt! 🙂

      Danke Dir, mein Lieber! 😃🙏🏻 Du brauchst ne Strat! 🙃 Unbedingt! 🙈

    What pickups you have on that Strat?
    Just curious😎

      Believe it or not, it‘s a cheap Fender Pure Vintage 65 set. They could sound a little sweeter, but they have the edge of those mid 60s pickups. 🙂 That guitar needs a few upgrades, but I love playing it, even now.

    Thomas is too brilliant for his own britches. But, if his bluguitar 1 takes lots of time to figure out how to operate, probably so will his ampx. Some savvy company, given one exists, could create a micro tube superamp in a box that is easy to navigate like the helix. Unfortunately, neither Thomas, line 6, Boss, nor fender understand the scope and appeal of vintage amps and the lure of microtube and other technologies. These execs all need to go online and check out the hundreds of vintage amps that people pay big money for. People want this stuff and would love to have it modernized and put in modeling amps that are easy to control and don't sound like kid's toys or gear for heavy metal artists.. Stuff even SRV would have loved to have had. Nobody wants to spend months or years tweaking out sounds and having to wrestle with an unfriendly control board on top of that. The big companies' execs are unaware of the needs and wants of their target market. Or they are just too lame to make it happen.

      I admit, that the Amp 1 had a learning curve for me. When you‘re used to eqs on vintage amps doing nothing, the eqs on the Amp 1 can be a little intimidating. But rather in a way, that you can get good sounds in s few different ways. If you turn the knobs by half a value, it will probably be the whole range of a knob on a vinatge amp. But once you know that, you crank out great sounds like there‘s nothing to it. And I‘m sure it will be the same in the Amp X. I personally can’t wait to try it! 😃

      I gig the Amp 1 ME with #majikband and it is really easy to dial in. You don’t need midi.

      @@manuelbastianI am just saying that the Amp1 can work for a basic setup all the way to a full midi set up. It is very versatile that way. I don’t use the midi for the same reason you mentioned in the video which is ease of programming especially live. I generally find midi on any device to be arduous. This new controller sounds great as a simple way to access these functions like soak. I’ll be getting one. I currently run the Amp1 in 4CM with an HX Effects.and a whole other board of my favorite pedals. Tons of options and sounds amazing. Thanks for sharing your experience with dialing in these extra tones with the new controller. You sound great here and on the interview with Thomas.

      @@dr.gregoryweisswassernd7251 I would rather use midi, than not use the extra sounds with the built-in attenuator. 😁 Although live it can be complicated, unless you program an expression pedal with the CC for the powersoak… But we‘re past those days since the 1Control came out! 🥰🙌🏻 Makes it so much easier! And I get what you are saying: The Amp 1 sounds great. Full stop. 😃 And it does. But to get the reaction from the amp in really quiet environments, that‘s another level! 🙌🏻
      Thank you for the kind words and thanks for tuning in! Stay tuned for the Blubox video! 😎
