The alternative theme is SO good! It's a real nice contrast to the first one as well. Since in AW1 Sturm thought that he could really just *steam* roll all over you, but in AW2 he knows what's up. *...And still manages to sound MAJESTIC!*

Ahhhhh, this is SO close to being perfect, the only thing wrong is the sound balancing. The main melody is too quiet compared to the supporting instruments. If they just bumped up the main theme a bit, this would be maybe the best remix of the whole bunch.
That’s a common thing with a lot of the other theme songs. I believe the reason for that is because the music is dynamic in the reboot. When you enter buying mode the music changes gets muffled and a bunch of part of it just goes silent while the “main” beat stays at the same volume. The music also gets morphed when you pop your power. Who ever worked on the sound design, they deserve the S rank.

not really Russian All nations already represent a country/region Orange Star = America/USA Blue Moon = Russia Yellow Comet=Japan Green Earth = Germany Black Hole ends up being a departure from this theme and makes them more a "invading" force rather than giving them an specific theme. Flak is a biker, Lash is a Goth Loli, Ader is a Emo/Punk. Hawke and Sturm are the closest to a "militia based" character on their design with Hawke looking more like a bounty hunter and Sturm as an Alien Dictator. His design is also the closest to a Nazi/Facist Commander than the rest of the "nation"

i should have known that not having hawke's theme yet anywhere on youtube as far as i can search for it that they botched it, several key themes are missing. at the very least they made Sturm's themes, even the Power one masterpieces.
Hawkes theme is on youtube and they have not botched a single song. The composer did justice to this game as Mick Gordon did to Killer Instinct. The soundtrack alone carries this games price tag.

Several CO themes are missing key pieces of their original melodies, others have them severely dampened or altered. The ReBootCamp OST is nothing but a well-funded fanmade remix album, but sure, let's pretend like because it's something new in the Advance Wars series that it should be given less criticism. These aren't the words of a nostalgia-blinded elitist either, as there were plenty of things about the original games that could and should have been improved or expanded upon, but alas WayForward was probably not the best studio to hand over those reins to but they took them nonetheless.

A bit underwhelming. I really like the direction for this version of the song, but at some points it's too busy to hear the main melody. Also doesn't inspire fear down my spine like Death's whistle did in that one scene in Puss in Boots.
Every time I listen to this version I like it more. Like how did they turn a scary theme for a robot commiting war crimes into rave music and make it work.

While the improvements to the game are disputed the improvements to the soundtrack are legendary
the soundtrack is very hit or miss. I like the newer versions of lash and sami's themes as two examples but they really did hawke dirty.
