    Solid video. Thanks. Gotta check the valves on my 22. Ran a no toil pre-oiled filter and it wasn't oiled good enough. Sucked some dirt. Not happy!

    Plenty of great information. Much appreciated. I just bought a new 2022 KX450x and there’s not a bunch of good info yet.

    Sub’d! Great channel. Was looking at Kx450 vids to decide wether I want to trade my ol’ RM250 on a 2018 kx450. Love all the strokes, but think I’ll stick with 2 fer now. Cheers!

      The current generation kx450 is a solid platform 19-23. I wouldnt get to excited over a 18 unless you really want air forks.
      The kx450 just does it all itl even eat up morgans new fuel injected 300 for dinner chew it up and spit it out on the knareley rocks. ;)

    I know this video is older, how many sizes down. My bike is that tight on my left intake valve. So the shim I pulled do you go down say it's 2.8 to a 2.75 or 2.7? Thanks

      @@highlandcycles My bike is a KXF450 year 2008, it is having problems starting, we noticed that there is apparently a difference in the adjustment of the bike's point, more precisely in the valve control. My question and my request for help, is if you have any video or something that shows any marking of where the correct alignment of the cam chain gears with the command would be, everything indicates that the gear rotated on the shaft and left the correct position, but I don't have any parameter to know if this happened, I'm researching to inform myself of possible solutions

    • @highlandcycles

      .004”-.006” intake and .006”-.008” exhaust

    • @evanmiller1642
      @evanmiller1642 2 года назад +1

      These specs are better than kawasaki specs in my opinion 0031 I think is to tight on intake side 0047 is maxish. Going off memory.

    • @danehauser8675
      @danehauser8675 Год назад

      Great video. But they must have changed the valve specs on the newer ones as the book says .0031-.0047 intake, and .0055-.0071 exhaust. My 19hr 2023 KX450 has problems starting when hot and before assuming it was the common fuel pump issues, I wanted to check the valves and am at .004 intake and .006+ exhaust. Based on your specs, I figured I was at the bottom of the specs and was going to change all of them but it looks like I'm above midway per the KX manual. Good news is I don't need to adjust the valves but bad news is I must have one of the crappy fuel pumps, even though Kawi says mine isn't part of the recall.
      Anyway, if anyone else runs into this, the valve specs are lower than he mentions in the video. Still a great video though so thanks!
