Yes, I noticed that leak at the upper reed block too... 😁 Thanks for watching!
Thank you for doing the stuff you do❤
was just about to comment that leak
Just an FYI if you wear I'm invisible sunglasses I just remove your social anxiety because you're invisible at least it worked for me😮😊
Love your work. Been watching for years. Keep doing your concepts! Just one* veriable at a time! **** Discaimer "One may mean many." Also for your terror bolt, craftsman makes a ratchet that work normally as well as twisting the handle actuates the ratcheting mechanism so you rotate your hand to tighten and loosen instead of swinging the whole ratchet back and forth. Amazing for tight spaces, or a 90° degree drill adapter would probably save a lot of pain and time.
Successful start my friend!!!! All hail the God of speed!!!
If nothing else, you should be able to claim the title for biggest and heaviest 50cc 2 stroke. LOL
I love the videos, keep em coming.
When, as a child, I was asked what my plans for the future were, I replied that I wanted to be the man who repaired the wheels and frames of the local supermarket shopping carts. Needless to say, there was a good deal of sarcasm in the teacher's feedback as he derided me for such goals. All I could tell him was, "Yes, maybe so, but think of the gratitude and how satisfying it will be." Today, 60 years later, as an old machinist, I see the same surge of satisfaction in you. Follow your star.
I'd apprecate supermarkets hiring a dude for that a lot more than hiring a dude to try to sell me a membership.
@@lassikinnunen Thank you

✅Correct.
Mr Ford would have had words with you.
Bubbs? Is that you Bubbs?
What a cool story and beautiful way to frame it!
Seeing you genuinely excited and optimistic was refreshing. Knowing how you have been feeling for a long time now, this was awesome to see...
And how good is it to hear some Ring Ding? 🤗
Great work Alex!
Sounds snappy man! Can't wait to see the numbers!
Great, another 2 stroke stuffing video, click on 'like' then watch it!
Yep.
Proper protocol, indeed!

Diggin the Robin Renzetti reference. The king of precision!
Caught the reference to Mr Renzetti too! Funny how us engine heads/gear heads whatever you wanna call it, we all seem to watch the same channels. Machine shop channel favorites are Stefan Gotteswinter, Robin Renzetti, Tom Lipton, Abom and this ol Tony’s back catalog (newer stuff is so so imo at least). Steve Morris for four stroke drag engines, couple others pretty good too. Can anyone recommend any other good two stroke content, I’m currently in a scooter tuning phase myself irl (I’m hip to Brandon/scooter swap shop)
Much respect to someone that makes their own parts, finds their mistakes/flaws, and just makes it better. All the great engine builders have done the very same thing.
Yes. And more than just building ... actual engineering!
You’re on a roll my magical friend. Keep up the good work.
Finnish by hand table? I thought you were Norwegian!
...I'll see myself out.
Well done mate! Your really heading the right direction now! Looking forward to seeing you run at Bonneville! 🏁🏁🏴☠️🏁🏁❤️👍
seeing u fiddle with the 2 stroke had me pull my scooter from the attic were it was for 10+ years ❤ its a full polini evo 72 cc aprilia rally water cooled and started with just some fresh fuel! keep up the good work and many thanks for the awesome videos u produce 👍🏻
That’s awesome! I just started rebuilding a 2004 polini x3r 50cc for my son, don’t see too many polini’s where I’m at.
@@houstonhowell3618Did polini make a bike? As far as I know, polini is "just" a company that makes performance upgrades for scooters.
@@MikkelL03 yes they made mini “crotch rocket” style bikes and dirt bikes but it’s hard finding info on them as well as parts!
@@houstonhowell3618 I've never heard about them or seen anyone in Denmark, but they sound pretty cool. Could imagine polini knows how to make a fast bike.
@@MikkelL03 yea I’m waiting on a head stud, but it seems pretty legit. I’ve never had anything other than Japanese bikes so it’ll be cool to see how it compares!
Why the Spanish style music? You're Norwegian and should play Black Metal! 😜
Bravo, Sir! Onward and upward. You remind me of New Zealand’s Bert Munro of “the world’s fastest Indian” fame. it is not the problems but how you deal with them. If there is a medal for perseverance you deserve it. Well done.
I don’t know about you but I feel good. Nice job. I worked as engineer for 4 decades and was given the task to generate “engineering templates” which was a series of steps to perform to design our product and the template was intended to make sure everything important got done correctly for each customer’s design. It’s such a joy to watch a craftsman at work. No step by step plan, no check lists, no design reviews, the list is stifling. What’s your plan? I won’t be able to tell you until I’ve done it. Refreshing.
Just getting that engine running is a win. Proof of concept !
It's been sooooo long since we heard that lil baby brrrrrrraap ❤️
Hello there the beast is alive again!
Alex you legend! I’m so glad you went back to this engine.
Always a joy to watch your progress. But about your water issue. You could vacuum fill the system. Once under water it will keep it there
So happy you’ve gone back this engine back together
Love this specific concept, so happy you brought it back!
I see ignition in the eyes, glimtet er tilbake, very exiting
This is the best channel of all of RUclips. Fight me.

Life is perfect, we just have to arrange our thoughts and breathe fresh air to harmonize with it. Yesterday my Gilera runner sp was stolen approx 11:00. By 12:30 The police had video of the perpetrator on a USB-stick. Then I thought, what can I do myself. I went to the Square in-between the food stores with a picture of the Gilerafan and a 24 pack of lager and a pack of smokes. Within a minute I was cheering with my fellow humans and had positive identification and a adress. After a 5 minute walk I was outside the residence of bike skeletons. I sat down and listened. After a relaxing meditation for an hour in the Swedish bleached spring sun I could hear an angry bumblebee in the distance. It was "Acurella" . The smile on the face of the rider was priceless, I could only feel glad for him so short, because I knew he would cry soon. Now its time for a shower then the ride of the day to work, on my beloved "Acurella". PD. If i have it in me I'll drive by Norway on my way home from Jämtland this summer, be aware ;) DS.
Bigger ring gap is good when you use forced induction. More heat expanding the ring...
for something thats meant to scream the throttle response is crazy good. high five!
The sound is awesome.... Can't wait for you to give it, it's head.. thanks for your time and work.😊
Alex, by bringing back this engine, you woke up the horses. It's up to you now to put them to work. Show us what you got! We're all behind you!!! Wishing you success!!!
Magical Red beard powers activated...
Thank God, Brother I'm literally tearing up...That thing is a beast, I hope it translates into torque! Damn I've been waiting for that kind of throttle response! Having a snort of some fine whiskey 🥃🥃on your behalf. Dyno time 🔥 Cheers
omg red beard is a hack
Inconvenience 2; bleeding the air out of the cooling system?
Oh haha never mind.
That's exactly what I remember with the Roots Blower -- it starts immediately without any real issues. So, so, so nice to see that again! Hopefully with a blow-off valve, you won't have any issues with damage from backfires. Can't wait to see it fully timed and screaming.
So cool to see the supercharged back on the bench !!! And a real pleasure to ear the happyness in your voice ✊
An amazing win Alex! It sounds really crisp, and the whole engine is filled with out of the box thinking. Glad I'm subscribed!
Well done on first startup! Cant wait to see the final full dyno result.
Sounded good. Sure it will sound even better after timing is adjusted.
When you tested the welding wire throttle I instinctively said brumm brummm brumm, even tho the footage was sped up, I was ready. It's just good luck when testing carb moves at all, after reassembly, it puts the spirit back into it
Just got home and this just released! Can't wait to see it run!
Ive been watching since the boody beginning, and im soo glad to see this design beeing worked on, i think it has good potential, but what do i know xD. Just wanted to say that you are relly insiering, and i love to see your videos. Cheers🍻
I really like that you are using two reeds on the side where the port are normally is, and that you are using the rotor for the exhaust. I love it.
finally some 2stroke sounds 😍👍
So good to hear the 'Big Dog' Running again!
Thanks as always Alex! 😍
Right... You know she starts. So.. To avoid further/potential time/effort costing issues:-
- Remove blower, fill it to correct level with oil,
- Remove head and get rid of that air bubble,
and,
- Set up the dual cable throttle for easier/more precise control...
Apart from that.... She be looking good to go for further testing/tuning! Nice one fella! 👍😏
😎🇬🇧
Excellent stuff, well done. I think you have more than a few people willing you on.
Overall, a great day in the shop
It's like priming a rocket with NASA. I think everyone felt what you feel. COngratulations!
Congratulations Alex!!! Love to see that beast running again!!! I also love the Spanish guitar music while you assemble the engine. Looking forward to the next video!!!!
Its alive!!!
I don't know how the transfer reeds will last since they will be exposed to excessive pressure from combustion pressure due to the transfers opening too soon
From earlier testing they seem to hold up surprisingly well, but not for very long.
Hail the algorithm!
😉
jeremy clarkson: POWER!!!
that's a cliffhanger 😀 how good is it running? hope to see testing video SOON! and with good results!
I love that someone created content for 21:9 Ultrawide. Thank you!!!
Im so happy the rotary exhaust is working. I cant wait to see results on graph. You are headed in the right direction bro! Brute force for the win!
Finally we’re getting somewhere!! Sounds great!!!!
Gratulation!!
Awesome channel, definitely one I look forward to watching each new video.
LET'S GOOOOO ❤
Great to see you back with a running prototype ! If i'm allowed to suggest 1 advice: In a previous video, yaid that you won't spare a leak test anymore ... where was it ? :P
Joke aside, i think you should actully vaccuum leak test it, just to make sure nothing from there will throw you :)
Have you ever seen "Groundhog Day" ? 😁
😂
That's sounding crisp, here's to the next video. Ps I was running my Joe Ehrlich engine the other day on castrol R, it made my eyes burn.
Heroic Revving, sounds great allready!!!
Wizard of 2 stroke💪👍🤗
Very nice to see a success video through and through.
Hi Alex, isn’t 20:1 compression ratio way to high? Why is it higher than conventional 2-stroke? Normally with blown engine you reduce compression ratio??
It's high, but Methanol is knock resistant, and I'm only running 30% nitro. High compression cause there's no tuned exhaust so I don't have to reserve energy for it.
It won't actually be 20:1 because during the early parts of the compression stroke the ports are still exposed, and while they are blocked by valves they do have significant dead volume between the ports and the cylinder which charge can get displaced into. Normal 2 strokes (without a tuned pipe) suffer even worse from this because their exhaust port is open to the atmosphere during the compression stroke, to the point where you can more or less assume that no compression happens until the exhaust port is covered, instead mixture is just displaced into the exhaust pipe.
A general rule of thumb is that above 15:1 or so you no longer gain power or efficiency, and may actually lose it. This is largely due to the increased friction from the need to seal against very high combustion pressures. Diesels of course go much higher, but that's because they need more heat in the compressed air to ensure ignition of the fuel.
@@nerd1000ify hi. Good point as well with the dead space. Didn’t think about that. But eventually how he runs his compressor will decide if that has a big influence or not? You can compensate the volume loss by adding volume. Obviously you than loose power mechanically. I once drawn this idea and I remember having the rotary drum valve as close to the cylinder wall as practically possible. Even if he ‘only’ gets 1,5 - 2 bar in that cylinder before the exhaust port closes it is still a very high cilinder filling?
Isn’t the limiting factor on conventional 2 stroke just the knocking of the engine? Your piston is just a single ring which seals plenty enough?
Also forgot he runs methanol, thanks Alex for the comment. I don’t have experience with that on combustion engines. Feels high, but usually you know your stuff so I hope you are right.
Epic.
And the cinematography with soundtrack? *chefs kiss.
That black screen run off was perfect
The "soundtrack " was bloody awful ! ... and waaaaay too LOUD ! ... IMHO.
It's ALIVE!! *insert thunder crash and lightning strike*
that annoying allen head inside the motor make little fuel line piece to help u easily turn it
Just awesome. Thanks again 👍
It's great to see this monster running again!
sometimes i think, you have to have the determination that this guy has
WOW! it lives...
It woke up /angry/. Nice work! :D
Walter White of two stroke world is back
Turbo, nitrous and supercharger engines generally run a larger gap due to increased heat
Yeah which made me worry for a sec about the cooling system but he said at the end it was fixed? I’d love to see a thermal image video of it running at full tilt.
Great job!! You so very deserved a smooth startup!
Im very happy you seem to be back on track. Good for you!!!
That thing ROOOAAARRS! Wow!
😮 Hey are you going to get more ring expansion because of the added pressures, boost, and horsepower?
😊 Requiring a little wiggle room, more ring gap, for safety at peak numbers? 👽 I don't know I'm just pondering here
Awesome, best ever video, ❤❤. If you crown tooth belt wheels ( very slightly with file in lathe) they then run belt centrally without increased friction of sides or followers. Old tec, from flat leather belt pulleys. Cheers Rob
So crazy. So a bit dumb at the end. Regards from 10 years of following you. Come from a performance engine to a crazy show. I hope that you are doing well. Regards from France. Maybe, you can remind that Im the guy who try to begin the contact between you and bidalo factory. I hope you to succeed in your challenge and keep well. Regards
😂 That looks kind of like the type of carb you find on a backpack, blower or chainsaw... Super sized!
Self-metering by flow. It should work well with a blower on top of it 💪
these monday videos have been great
So great to have a running engine again. Exciting time up ahead.
that sounds crazy man
What is a normal use for 3-D printing using purple glittery filament?
A friend of my girlfriend wanted some numbered tags for disc golf. No clue what the numbered tags were going to be used for, but I thought glittery purple a suitable color for something disc golf related😁
Engine man posted = Like
just always, lul
Good to hear it fire up and sound so smooth.
Hey I'm sorry but could anybody pleeease tell me what the PiP engine name comes from or stands for? Been trying to sift trough videos and instagram posts for like an hour now without finding any mention of it :(

Cracking episode!! Gave me such a good feeling hearing that engine sing. I bet you felt good also???
That engine has certainly got a 'nasty' bark to it! I wonder if it would be possible to make a float bowl setup for that carb?
Master, it lives!
Even though you started WFT 6 years ago I must say I admire you perseverance making worlds largest 50cc motor.
I imagine it will make around 33~34bhp on nitro-methane at 28,000 rpm?
It was great to hear it running
What a epic ending !
I've been modifying and tuning scooter engines for 24 years now, and I've learned much from your videos since you started making them.
Thanks for another epic video, you´re the MVP.!
see you next time Sir (:
Where do you live in Norway? my wife is Norwegian we just got back from a trip from the Netherlands. And I must say there's normal people there not like the USA... I wanted to stay so badly😢, we're making plans to go back next year😁.
CONGRATS!!!! Two suggestions, first, please buy a proper straight edge rather than using a ruler. Second, get a 90-degree drive adapter to be able to tighten the Terror Bolt.
To solve the exhaust problem, have you considered a twingle (split single)prototype? O know It could add a Lot of extra moving parts and points that can fail but... It Just appeard in my head this Idea.
I do not even know how we got here. As I recall, we were working on an intercooled, AMR500 supercharged Kubota diesel powered Honda Insight? WTF man?
sorry,i have lost interest in going down endless rabbit holes and watching lathes and milling machines producing swarf.i can go next door and watch terry ten thou dou that!!,,,your grit and determination to lost causes is admirable, but please,,buy an old rd500 and enjoy some "you" time,,take care of yourself and family before its too late and move on,.👍✌
