Well written, well executed acting, well done on twists/ turns and plot twists. Interested in seeing what season 2 has...well worth watching if you haven't see this yet. Some of the best series have been coming out of Amazon, whoever is running that deserves a raise.
btw, enjoy Neagley's (Maria Sten) mannerisms...her body language is enjoyable to connect to. Also, I am glad they wrote in that Reacher estimating Neagley wrong (instead of being perfect, nice touch to the writing)

This actor, Alan Ritchson, is the PERFECT Jack Reacher, the way author Lee Child wrote him to be. Reacher is six and a half feet tall (as opposed to Tom Cruise who, I've heard, is 5 feet 7 inches tall and should NEVER have been in the Jack Reacher role. I like Tom Cruise, but he's no Jack Reacher.
I agreed..as Tom Cruise is too short at 1.7M n too small size to play Jack Reacher!!! While this Alan is big size enough to play e role!¡ Is more convincing!!!

@@god0fgames100 There is a difference between what an actor _can_ do and what the role _requires_. In a similar vein, many people assume that an acting performance is entirely due to the actor's intention, whereas in many cases it's due to what the director managed to _extract_.

Just rewatched both TC Reacher films the other day they’re fine as long as you’re not fixated on him matching the character physically. Enjoyed the first series with AR and looking forward to the next.

@@brianfergus839 I already said that he is a great actor, but for anyone who has read Lee Child’s books, or watched the tv series knows that he does fit the character, who is over 6’4” and 250 lbs and takes on 3 or more bad guys with ease. Sorry Tom I love watching your other films with Sean Penn and the other action movies, and you have to be admired for doing your own stunts. But for me it’s horses for courses.
Hollywood grew this guy in a lab so they could have their perfect Jack Reacher.

Read most of the Jack Reacher books. That's why I laughed when Tom Cruise attempted to play the role 😂. Books are always better than their movie version
Not always -- Jason Bourne. The movies (and Damon's portrayal) were way cool. The books were so cringey I barely made it through. (Agree w/ the Cruise/Reacher comparo, though as stand-alone I thought Cruise did okay.)
I agree. I refused to watch the Cruise version. Having read the books it was ridiculous to imagine him as Reacher.

Tom is an amazing actor and his version of the character is great, if not true to the physical description in the books. It's crazy how you people seem to think matching physical dimensions is all it takes to act a character. While Alan is good his range in acting is quite limited and his delivery of lines is somewhat wooden and stilted. Tom has much better screen presence and immersion into his roles.

Honestly, Marvel and/or DC should hire this guy. I’d also love to see him as BJ Blazkowicz in a Wolfenstein movie. 💯
He got in a lot of fights as a kid and later in the Army. That trains a high degree of situational awareness into a person. He also has an eidetic memory, hence the lack of need to take notes in the first movie and the question about the year on the quarter. Coupled with his high understanding of criminal psychology, particularlly of fleeing criminals, that comes in handy when he has to hunt someone down. It makes for an interesting character.

The Cruise versons of Reacher are ok if you never read a single Jack Reacher book. Once you have, you realize Tom is creating his own character. And it's NOT Jack No Middle Name Reacher.
But this scene is very similar to the one in the book "Bad Luck and Trouble" which is the basis for Season 2.
Only difference between this scene in the book vs the show is that Reacher and Neagley meet up in Los Angeles instead of Memphis. Neagley isn't even in "Killing Floor"

As a US Army veteran, my biggest problem with this is the idea of a competent CID agent. But then the books are written by a Brit.
How did he not recognize the back of her head when he sat down right behind her?
Previously she would have had military issue hair cuts and he mostly would have addressed her face to face. He also wasn't expecting her to be in the room at the time and people are great at seeing or not seeing what they expect to see.
I got the impression that he did and sat down where he did for that reason. But playing the scene again, I can see how you could get another impression. Not really sure how to read that part of the scene anymore.

I haven't read any of the books. But i can tell you this Alan is so much more a Military man at 6'2" then Tom is at 5'7" im not sure Tom could have even been in the Military at his height.

A great series but the audio on US stuff is really awful lately, you have music and songs overpowering actors who seem to mumble most of the time, subtitles are really crap too as they are too dumb to distinguish between background songs and the actors speech, I won't get into how a lot of it is filmed in the dark too.
At 2:50 he turns his back toward the camera a bit and you can see duct tape on his back.
Is that because he’s getting his clothes from a thrift shop, or does it have some significance that I missed?
During the knife fight with those two Venezuelans, one of them slashed Reacher in the back, and instead of getting a new thrift store/Salvation Army jacket, Reacher just duct-taped the rip shut
