- A girl goes missing and an investigation into the girl's hobby begins. Detectives find a link to a video game creator and attempt to map the game into reality, leading to a shocking secret.
Season 9, Episode 2 'Avatar': Kristi McGarrett (guest star Liza Joyce) is raped by her sister's boyfriend, Dan Friedich (guest star Ryan Lynn), while her sister Rachel (guest star Christina Brucato) goes missing. Friedich remains a suspect, while Detective Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Stabler (Christopher Meloni) use Rachel's "avatar" (screen persona) to track down the kidnapper before time runs out.

This would happen a lot. A sick obsessed guy, kidnaps his dream girl and suddenly lose interest because she stop looking like his dream girl, so what does he do. He goes out and kidnaps another that resemble his dream girl.
Even though this is a fictional series, I think every young person should watch this episode. This episode perfectly illustrates how predators operate. They don't love you, they are selfish narcissists manipulating you to indulge them in their sick fantasies. And when you slip up, gain an independent mind, or get too old, they completely lose interest and dispose of you. They are purely only interested in their selfish desires, not an equal relationship or love.
Unfortunately that won't have any effect. Teens tend to believe they are adults and capable of making logical decisions. They are simply perfect victims of predators.
The most unrealistic part of this episode is that all the guys in Vixy’s mmo ‘fan club’ looked like normal polo-shirt wearing dudes and not hyper muscular hunks.
Or anthropomorphic animals and anime vampire girls.
@@CatzlovichCatnipAndCabbages it was a different time. anime in the US was almost exclusively 4kids dubs and furriers were relegated to dungeons. back then, it was "cool" to be the clean and lean water polo jock and cheerleader.

That episode is pretty good, I always love it when they do random callbacks. The detectives are like "--GREGORY SEARLE?" and he's like "hey bitches" 🤣 So glad the actor was able to do a cameo

I can't help but wonder what he would've done to Lauren if he had managed to get to his cabin in the woods.
Kevin tighe was fantastic in emergency, one of my favorite tv shows. He always played the creep in law and order though, in guest star roles. So, if all you know him from is his guest appearances in the law and order franchise, i would tell anyone to check out the tv show emergency, a really fun excellent show.
No matter what role I see Kevin Tighe in, a part of me always thinks of him as DeSoto. I was watching “Emergency!”, before I could barely talk, thanks to my older siblings. Only to be the only one who remembered it. (Finally saw late night reruns on a Canadian kids channel about 30 years later.)
Every time they try to include video games it’s always so hilariously absurdly out of touch.
This episode came out in 2007, the year we got titles like Bioshock, Portal, TF2, Super Mario Galaxy, Halo 3, etc; but the graphics on that fake game look more like something out of EverQuest or The Sims 1. 😅

This remains one of the silliest episodes of svu imo. I've played a lot of online games including second life, which seems to be mostly what the game in this episode is based on. There are absolutely predators in spaces like gaming but man i just couldn't take this episode seriously 😂 right up there with the furry ep of csi

I used to be big on video games when I was a kid, but then I soon grew out of it and lost interest, even though I do play once in a while. But now after watching this, it just adds another reason why I don’t play video games a lot. It can make people forget that they live in the real world.
Kevin Tighe is a pretty underrated actor, and I enjoyed his performance in Road House. He played this psychotic character so well!!

Loli stuff is illegal though, except there are certain gray areas. It has been successfully prosecuted under CP laws in cases where the illustrated character was clearly underage, but that part is subjective in cases like this one.

I know this is so random but this reminds me of the metalocolpys episode where dr rockso go to reunite with the 14-year-old girl that he slept with, and she was older and his literal words were you’re fat now and you got older and she said people change and then when she proceeds to leave, she calls her daughter who is also now 14 and he immediately tries to hit on the daughter.
