Love you guys❤️
Can you start and run the generator while the coach is plugged into 50amp service? If so, which power source supersedes the other? I assume the generator takes over as it's 90amp, but is it safe to do this? (I have a QD10,000 in my coach)..
Yes you can and Yes I have but I don't make a habit of it. Yes generator has priority over shore power I just don't know what the ramifications would be if there was a malfunction so i try to avoid it.
@@ktoutdoor Good to know, thanks for replying!
Open the generator breaker, if you want to just run the generator while connected to shore power ...
Out of curiosity, did the generator turn over and not start or was it completely dead when this happened? Mine is completely dead after starting and dying twice within a few seconds.
@SnowyChurro it was no crank, no start. But has work ever sense this repair.
@@ktoutdoor Thank you! Mine just did this today. No crank, no start after running perfectly fine a half hour before. I need it up and running by this Wednesday (it's on our food truck) so this really helps. Thanks!
@@ktoutdoor did the red lights on your start switch flash? Neither of mine are flashing at all. It seems like the generator is completely disconnected from battery power, but it starts using the truck battery power and the truck starts fine.
@SnowyChurro it's been to long I don't remember. Check your ground cable from the generator to the frame...
I enjoyed your video on changing the relays. My Generator always starts but when generating about 25 to 30 amps it wants to surge. My Onan has a Kubota engine and is a 7500 KW. I have changed fuel pump, filter and made sure it is getting fuel. Do you have any suggestions for me?
Best guess is fuel delivery or air getting into suction line try a new fuel source right at the engine and maybe confirm fuel pressure is correct.
Make sure your fuel supply line isn't linked or internally collapsing. What is the rating of the generator circuit breakers? You could be pushing the engine to it's limits..
Experience has shown me that the plastic bag will hold condensation or moisture and will never allow the connection to dry
Thank you for contributing.. So far it has been starting every time after replacing relays
Hey Kevin, I have a question on a workhorse chassis. It's a 2005 Bounder. I have a problem with the fuse box that's inside the rv and for me is up on the left side of the dash. Was investigating why the 12v outlets on the dash were not working. (We just bought this rv) found a blown fuse but it got the fuse box around that particular fuse hot and the metal clips that would normally hold the fuse are gone! Any idea of my best way to repair? Do I add a secondary fuse box and move that one over to a new fuse box. It doesn't look like the original fuse box is available and if it was its part of the main wire loom! What would you do?
Text me a picture of your fuse box to 606-875-0125 Kevin
Change the simple things first.
