Worth highlighting the remedial works after re wiring, plaster repairs, raggle damage etc, factor more for plastering and decorating. Our similar sized house we rewired for £5k 7years ago, a further £1500 for plastering
Really loving your videos. We will be starting renos on our old home this year. And really finding your videos helpful. As we really have no clue. I do wish you was closer to us lol
Hi Nick, what size fuseboard would a house like this need? We're about to get a rewire done and wondering whether to get a bigger fuseboard than what we currently need for future extension. Thanks!
North west, around 3k if all accessories are white plastic, and ceiling lights are mostly pendants. Spotlights and metal accessories add a lot to the price. For London/south east add 50-100% on top of that.
Hard work does pay off! The only shame is the garden: it has no character and looks bland. The 'grass' looks like artificial turf and they can make a property look very cheap, in my opinion. The original garden, if treated and managed sympathetically and as part of the design, would have added far more style to the project as it could have been zoned into separate areas. Still, well done for rescuing an old bungalow and making it liveable again.
Was selling the house so would have been a waste to plant. It is actually grass and not artificial, it comes in rolls still which is why it might look artificial, you roll it out and let it take.
Good for the general public. I always find that you have to educate people on pricing.
Its certainly a skill how some folks can walk into a old warn out house, and imagine its potential and see how it can be renovated 👍
It’s such a marvelous place, I’m so jelly!! If I ever moved from the US to London this would be my premiere choice of homes.

Ha - thank you! Good luck with yours
Love your home, I live in Newcastle but my home was rewired 12 years ago & can't remember much we paid x
That was a perfect quick tour!
Very helpful, Nick - thanks. And at what point in a full renovation should the rewiring be undertaken?

Great share
Bonkers London prices!
Ha! I’m intrigued what other prices are?!
What would be average cost for rewiring a small 2 bed flat?
