I never thought about collecting primarily rookies before this channel. I've always only PCed my favorite few players. I might have to rethink my collecting
Very nice collection of baseball cards!! I still am searching for some of those gems for my collection. It appeared that you have some very nice condition cards,I would not waste the opportunity to add value to them by sending them in for grading,I’m sure it would be worth the wait in value!! Thanks for Sharing ,I ENjoyed it 👍👍
This got me thinking, are there any other guys like Schilling, since 1981 with only 1 rookie card? The closest I can think off the top of my head is Miggy with 2 (Topps Traded and Chrome).
I love Mike Sweeney too. I was a bat boy for the Rockford Royals, single A team for KC. When he was in the Minors, he was always nice to me and he’d toss the ball with the batboys occasionally.
Sweet collection!! I got back into collecting this year and went straight for the HOF rookies. Have an updated video on these? Do you buy any graded cards?
Nice looking box of rookies. I just joined the community of and made some videos of my collection. You have great content. Looking forward to checking out your other videos.
Your collection and quality of videos has vastly improved since your original collection videos! I am very happy to see all the additions, but I am all the more jealous because of it. Thanks for showing us, hope you are well Jon!
Hey Jon, nice video! Don Baylor's rookie is in the seventh series of the 1971 set. He shares the card with Dusty Baker - two great players who became great managers!
@@thepastisalive yes sir thank you.. finding out more about cards I have buried.. love that stuff..we can never have to Many card's..I couldn't imagine how much you have...😍✌️
Any plans to slab any of these? That Jeter SP actually looks really good for a foil card. Seems like it should pull an 8 and maybe an outside shot at a 9.
@@willy565 Yes, Stewart was my favorite pitcher growing up. Big game pitcher. I remember him outpitching Clemens in the playoffs. He had an intimidating stare and nasty forkball. It's funny though that he sounded like Michael Jackson. Very soft spoken.
Very fun to watch! My baseball RC collection is between 1,000 & 1,500 cards. Mostly 1970 to 2000. The criteria I decided to use was hitters with 1,000 hits or 100 HRs, and pitchers with 100 wins or 1,000 K's. There are additional exceptions as well, based on the player's history and/or possible post-playing career. I have the cards in alphabetical order in a couple binders. Always love looking through them (and adding to them). I also have probably a couple hundred from 2000 to present that need to be added in at some point (some are pending how they finish their careers). Looking forward to part 2!
I love collecting RC cards pre-'90 and you have a great collection. I was waiting to see the 64 Niekro RC but you have the 65. Never picked up the Schmidt or Ozzie Smith but but always wanted one. Thanks for the video. Really enjoyed it.
Nice collection. I have returned to the hobby recently. Had many of these cards when I was a dealer in the 80's. Sold many. Still have a few. I think I will concentrate on Cubs and White Sox now.
You and your brother should play a baseball game on like xbox or Playstation and stream it here. Jabs Vs Jabs. I think it would be awesome. Use mics and talk back and forth during the game. I think people would go nuts
Nice collection of rookies! Some of the older ones, you just take what you can find sometimes when you can find them at a reasonable price. Just to have them is nice. Great vid Jon! Thanks for sharing.
Where do I even begin? Sweet rookie collection! A few that stood out for me, idk if the Loftons you have are considered his 'true' RC. If I recall, his 89 Bowman and (I think) 90 Leaf. He may have been in a couple update sets as well. The 88 Al Leiter, I had that as a kid, (error version). Errors were a big thing back then, as you know. Me being a naïve kid held onto it thinking it would be worth something (lol). I think I have doubles of the 93 Topps Shawn Greene card and I noticed you're missing the Jim Thome 92 Upper deck rookie. I have that as well. Ok, I'm done, good stuff though!
Wow man, great collection. I have been out of the hobby for most of my adult life, but will be getting back in with 2021 season. How do the rookie cards work, do we already know which hot rookie cards we will be looking for or will that depend on other factors. Curious and can't find the answer anywhere. Happy holidays!
What a spectacular collection! Nothing but respect for you, man. Such an impressive (HALF OF!?!) collection! I really want for you to pull that nnof, so you can slide that in the front of your 1990 section. You deserve it. Awesome presentation and AMAZING collection! Thanks

Thanks Peter! Awesome pick up on the Ryan rookie. I have one too and completely forgot to include him in this video. Mine is a pretty beat - it was a flea market find for $50 but still a Ryan rookie nonetheless. Appreciate you watching!
Nice John! I keeping in top loaders in a box like this, sorted alphabetically by player. Real good ones in the box in to poachers, and the so-so and hopeful to be rookies in a binder until they become "top loader worthy".

Bo Diaz was 37 when he passed away in 1990. He was adjusting the direction of his satellite on his roof and it crushed him . Pretty crazy way to go to say the least. Underrated player in his day.
very sad. didn't know about him. i remember the Indians boating accident that killed i think Steve Olin and maybe one other pitcher. 90s Cubs have also had a bunch of freak premature deaths among their pitchers, Frank Castillo drowned, Jeremi Gonzalez got struck by lightning, Kevin Foster had some disease.
