Artist collaboration

jewelry artist collaborations with mulga and sofia fitzpatrick The film starts at the artist home studio of Sofia Fitzpatrick in Paddington, Sydney where she introduces us to her work. The film then explores her collaboration with fellow artists by taking us to Bondi beach where we meet Mulga painting a mural on the beach wall, whilst in Bondi we skate with Brett Chan, then we join Sofia on a photoshoot for her friend, musician Syie and finally we end up back in Sofia's Paddington studio where she introduces to the collaborative work of Sydney artist mike watt via his book on her book shelf.When I made this film I had no plan in mind it was all completely documentary, I was looking for a project and a friend suggest Sofia, so i went along and interviewed her on camera about her work. In showing me the work it became apparent that collaboration was very much part of the process for example Brett Chan and Mulga had both designed pieces that Sofia then made, so I just followed that up by visiting and filming them. What also became apparent is that these are all small business people who run there business through their mobile phones, via Instagram mostly. It's like cross pollination. They were all very open and generous with their time and I thank them sincerely for giving me access to their world. Cheers
