I am 73 years old and have never known a person with Alzheimer’s. What a cruel disease. Here we are many years after this film was made and there is still no cure. It makes me feel so sad for those families struggling with a loved one going through this. I pray one day a cure will be found for this cruel disease. 🙏
I think the cure is known or at least parts of it but the govt doesnt want it known for economic reasons. We do know alcohol and other foods like sugar and processed foods are bad for us. Sugar is a big problem for us.
there is a cure it is our diet all the processed high sugar junk food are damaging the brain and the low fat lie as our brain needs fats to function there are many doctors and nutritionalists out there who are now speaking up look up Barbara O'Neil as a good example
From what I understand diabetes can be a trigger. Many people with diabetes end up having Dimencia!
So... U are one of the lucky ones. I worked with them, and u got noooooo idea, how much i cried!!!! - The only thing, they really remember, is, what happened, when there was young. 5 minutes later... Even that... Is:"Gone ".
I pray that you never will know anyone with Alzheimers or Demantia, my father died with Alzheimers and it is a sad cruel disease for all involved.
It so accurately portrayed my mother's illness. I wish I had understood before we went through each stage. The greatest gift on can ever receive especially in illness/disease is the love and attention from family. What is most sad is when family think they can't hear or feel but they do. And mostly they feel your love even if they don't remember who you are. My mom had no pain or in need of horrible meds Luke chemo or radiation. She slowly just shut down. We all have to go one day. The greatest gift I could give back to my mom was to take care of her until the end and I'm so grateful for that. Her passing was beautiful because I know Jesus came to take her and she was at peace.

This movie reminds me of my mother and many others 😢 whom I watched their health decline. I hope they find a cure because I myself have had concussions and such .
Sad to say, but when my mother closed her eyes to this Life mine came open too late😢

But the most important thing she did is she taught her children that our talents come from God. And to use talents to give back to God and to give God all the glory. Her beautiful soul touched lives and that means her memory lives on with those people still on earth. 🌍 one day in heaven we all get to be with the ones we love. Those special people who touch our life and give us hope and happiness and encouragement to use our talents. Praise Jesus he is returning soon, let him find you here on earth using the talents he gave you. Praise Jesus! So that you can spend an eternity with him and the ones you love in heaven for an eternity . ❤
Wow! So, according to you, your god didn't bless her because she was in an abusive relationship, but after she left an abusive relationship, then your god blessed her with great major success! First, you agree with a statement made in the movie that talents come from god but then you are praising jesus for the talents that he gives! They used this wonderful line and its a great reminder...too bad the writers/producers marred their God given talent by infusing profanity, gratuitious sexual content etc into the storyline so that people just accept it as part of an Alzheimer's awareness flick. :( It was NOT essential to what could have been a truly great and informative movie....made my spirit wince not rejoice
Rose Hooper, I feel the same as you. I do not feel that movies need to include bad words, take the Lord’s name in vain, or contain sexual scenes.
Fantastic acting. The actors all carried it off with depth and concern which confronts all of us when dealing with the slow death & strugglebefore our eyes. Juliana Arkavy is excellent in this role, well done. ❤

It runs on both sides of my family my Father and my Mother my cousin who was 50 passed away just before his 60 birthday.. it was quick with him, both his parents had it both his sister had on my Dad's side these would of been his brother children. We were contacted by the University of St Louis to be in a study but none of my family wanted to know if they were disabled with it, .. I pray a cure is found I believe it's worse than anything on earth it takes away a person being.. God Bless
This Mental illness runs in my family like crazy,my Grandmother had this,my Aunt,my Dad,my uncle,it seems to hit when they where in there 80's,so I have learned how to confess of things,i don't want to happen in my life, I dont want any mental disease, because their are three that I know of,and I have taken care of people that had all three.

I had a friend who deteriorated and died of dementia. It was terribly hard to see them fade away. They had a full life however and were going to die of something. I am puzzled by the suggestion that abuse by a boyfriend caused this particular case. It seems hard to accept. Perhaps severe head trauma can lead to brain damage. But Alzheimer's in particular?
It's a new theory. I don't know how substantiated this is with clinical findings and literature.

I noticed people in my family drank a lot,so I am glad I don't have a problem with drinking,or smoking,brain cells dont renew themselves,when it comes to a lot of smoking,my dad chewed tobacco, and smoked cigars, and plus i heard about the gene that family members can carry.
My mother was beat severely, several times by her ex...husband at the time. Im afraid his cruel actions will make more than my mother suffer and pay for his demonic actions but her children and grandchildren as well. 😢

I have + it's a nitmare!! The person I've helped for years has hit me + I'm leaving. I'm disabled myself + don't need being hit by him!! His family doesn't help him at all not even his son!!
Diana, find help, and don’t let yourself be abused. No person deserves to be abused. You don’t say if your abuser is a husband or boyfriend, but just know that you are worth so much more to God and He doesn’t want anyone to be abused. There are shelters available. Please find out about them and get help to protect yourself and children, if you have any. God bless you.

This movie could have been perfectly made except that it has foul language, gratuitous sex content and uses the Lord's name in vain...totally unacceptable for children and people with God's spirit within them. The end does NOT justify the means!
Ever see The Notebook? Both if these movies very insightful in helping understand this. Not an easy thing for sure
